The Lombards, which means "long beards," are the people who occupied northern Italy during the Barbarian Invasions. They founded a state there that lasted about 200 years. Today's province of Lombardy is named after them. Today we will look at how the Lombards came to Italy and what their kingdom was like.

The Dutch Golden Age, by Dutch definition a 100-yearish period, is considered to be from the 1570's to 1672. It's material goldenness came from the invention of the saw windmill and the first modern capitalistic infrastructure keeping interests low. The Anglo Dutch wars started because of the European trade, where the British couldn't compete while the Dutch Republic advocated mare liberum, free trade, because they had a bigger merchant fleet than the rest of Europe combined. There were draws but the British got their ass kicked hard too. The VOC and WIC were founded by government primarily to take the fight witg Spain and Portugal overseas, with trade financing and supporting the military presence far away through a network of ports. The Dutch invaded England in 1688 and took the throne to keep it from being an ally to France and attacking the Dutch Republic together ever again, and the subsequent modernizing of it's economy made the British traders more competitive. Due to it's size, the British Empire started taking over, slowly, and started taking most of the heat of geopolitics. The Dutch did not care, as the first modern capitalists they could just as easily get ROI on their huge piles of money through London as the financial centre. But rentiers tend not to make happen things happen a lot and out of the high pressure cooker of all powers being out for your destruction, a lacklustre 18th century followed. Hudson was hired by the VOC, because he should find a passage to the East Indies. The WIC got the Dutch monopoly on the Atlantic trade only later.

Things this video failed to mention: The treaty that the Italians tried to impose had two versions one in Italian and one in Amharic the local language. In the Amharic version it says that Ethiopia can freely conduct foreign relations what is the Italian version it says Ethiopia can conduct for a relations only via Italy effectively making its protectorate. The person that you showed in the video is not the king he's the emperor of the Ethiopian Empire. In first Italian Ethiopian War, Ethiopia had modern weapons but in the second Italian Ethiopian war, it's the Ethiopian soldiers were not that equipped with the available modern weapons. From 1936 to 1941 Ethiopian soldiers held on to large swathes of land comparable to southern Italy. The Italian control of Ethiopia is compatible to the Somalian government's control of Somalia(few cities and small parts major regions)

The concept of Italy as a geographical concept existed long before even the rise of Rome. Under Rome the province of Italia forged a mostly unique identity and became to be seen a clear identity. During the Middle Ages the unifying culture of Italian gave rise to the nation of Italy which was in 1870 finally fully united into nation state of Italy.

Same case with why even until now, Arab can't be described as white peoples, despite Turkish would be acclaimed easily into such thing. Italian during early European migration wave into America in 19th century often enough placed to work in the same job that present-day cheap Mexican migrant seasonal labor often are doing, as agricultural worker or indentured servant. Especially South Italian from Naples and Sicily, of which where they were mostly come from, in that regard even the Northern Italians living in Lombardy and Tuscany would often treated these fellow Italians discriminatively as lesser than them too as those "nativist" White Anglo-Saxon American. The exact discrimination will be overcame by other European migrants too, like Irish, Armenian, Jewish, Polish, Spaniards, Slavs, and Greeks, thus good like being deemed white unless you're originated from France, Germany, Scandinavia, Netherland, etc during that era.

Scythians didn’t fall under the influence of Indias Buddhism. Scythians created Buddhism as the Buddha was a Scythian prince. In addition, although they would assimilate with locals, they did not fall under the influence, instead they ruled over the locals and influenced the local culture. Like the Vedas, the Scythians contributed to the Indian culture. The way you tell it sounds like you didn’t do your research.

No he died on his way to the third crusade which was successful as resulted in Saladin conceding land and agreeing for the passage of Christian pilgrimage through to Jerusalem, Saladin died soon after, during this campaign Richard the Lionheart also took Cyprus. There is a claim that the crusade was unsuccessful as they did not take Jerusalem but there was not a decision to siege Jerusalem as it would have been unwise given that many other groups in the area had joined forces and there was in-fighting between the crusader states, the army entered, took lands, won the final battle and returned home rich, that is pretty successful, we should remember that these were noble men and leaders with groups of volunteers walking acros Europe to the east and fighting the full armies of the Seljuk Turks, Fatimids ect. and at this time it was a combined force of Syria and Egypt. Undoubtedly the first crusade was the greatest success and captured large swathes of land that the Seljuks had invaded however each crusade shows the ability of the crusaders who took on a huge task of travel and battle and had success

Actually, I tried to point out that the standard of living must have increased because of some other reasons. That's kind of a stereotype about colonies that they brought profit. The fact that countries without colonies were doing well, too, shows that the colonies weren't sufficient for an economical success.
