My only complaint is the amount of pages given to scripture index. I just see it as unnecessary and would of rather seen more of commentary notes. They could of had a barcode to scan that has the index

They are releasing an Application Bible (not life application) that uses this commentary. Hadn't heard of this till I ran across that. Will have to look into the recourse itself as I'm in no need of another bible. 👍

I believe this is honestly the best one-volume commentary thats out there. The original meaning sections for me are better than the application sections.

I'll pass. I have several NIVAC volumes as e-books and they have relatively in-depth content. Seeing Ezekiel introduced in just two paragraphs is disappointing. By comparison, the Ezekiel intro in the one-vol. NBC is 2 and a 1/2 pages. Of course, each project has its own decisions to make. But in the end I think you only need a couple good one or two-volume ones (e.g. the abridged EBC). After that, it's on to fuller treatments.

Seems like it would make a good daily devotional commentary. More information than a study Bible note, less lengthy than a regular commentary. A good balance for those reading through the Bible in a year.

Would you recommend having it if you already own the larger set? That’s the question I’m debating buying it because it looks concise and I’m always looking for concise. Just wanted your opinion.

If Christian’s get to judge LGBT folks, that means that LGBT folks get to judge Christians. Who said… “Judge not, lest ye be judged?” Christian sexual repression leads to sexual abuse. (I1 is most likely Dan and I2 resembles the movements of the tribe of Asher) Of course there is also the Cohen modal haplotype of J1 P58 as well which identifies the IJ lineage of Hebrews and Arabs that are descended from Arphaxad. J2 M172 is the largest group of descendants probably of the House of the kings David and Solomon. Now you know a lot more of what is verified human history. Neanderthals were Eurasians descended from Japheth and Denisovans are a mix of Eurasians and Canaanites and or Cushites descended from Ham.

The book of genealogies is exactly what I'm looking for, but the print is too small for my old eyes. I wish they would come out with a paperback, to make it easier for arthritic hands, and larger print for older folks like me. I would definitely buy a two volume set, if they would be as I previously described.

NEVER FORGET: Faith (in the religious context) is not and logically CANNOT be a reliable tool for discerning what is true from what is not true. Any person who honestly, objectively cares about the truth has no choice but to discard faith from the outset.

I'm an educator, but I think I might need to get a second job just so I can afford more commentaries. They definitely get spendy. LOL

I wish there was a tool like this NT reference. The closest I can think of is Waltke's theological word book but it isn't broken down like a commentary. I hope you find something (I'd want one too).

I have both Keener´s 4 volume and this one, and believe it or not, Keener does not comment every line of the Acts, Schnabel is very good too, I used to think was not that good (yes due to a very superfitial reading), but I was really wrong.

My favorite one volume commentary is William MacDonald‘s „Believers Bible Commentary“.

When I hear N.T. Wright is a contributor in a series, I'll have nothing to do with it. I don’t have time to read full length studies just for the sake of "balance."

I had the New Scofield 1967 KJV. It contained some great notes and book introductions. What I didn’t like was the way the text was “tampered with.” I like the Scofield III which leaves the KJV text as is.

I would advise people to read the text themselves and try to interpret on your own while remaining open always and then look at opinions and commentaries to compare and learn. We should always approach any mans work with a grain of salt. Even your own. Listen to what Gods word says in an unbiased way. Putting God first.
