CZcams channel dedicated entirely towards a unique interest of Ceefax and Teletext - mainly from the 90s as there isn't that much in the way of archive footage from this period on the Internet. My earliest and most special childhood memory was watching 'Pages From Ceefax' transmissions in the early to mid 90s (when it really was good) before the programmes started early in the mornings on BBC1 & BBC2 (in the days before 24 hour TV). Also, used to love watching channel 4 Teletext (4-Tel On View). Used to love listening to the jazzy music as well which accompanied these pages... it was like my internet in the 1990s! All the footage on here is genuine, recorded from VHS off the TV back in the day (unless otherwise mentioned) and has since been transferred to DVD and then uploaded onto the Internet. Interesting to see some of the news stories at the time as well. We're all entitled to one unusual interest... this is mine!
BBC1 Ceefax AM - Thu 31 Dec 1987 - Ocean Blue
A treat from New Years Eve 1987 featuring the delightful Ocean Blue tape played here in it's entirety on an 'extended' BBC Test Card and Ceefax slot from 5.52am - 7am. Unfortunately the tape cuts off a few minutes before the sequence has ended but we get to hear the entire Ocean Blue tape plus a very rare bonus track at the end which is where the tape cuts off. After the bonus track has finished the transmission finishes with a few minutes of the Simple Piano tape before the BBC1 start up commences at 7am but unfortunately I can't upload the rest of it.
I don't own the copyrights to any of the music in this video but most of the tracks heard here including all of the guitar tracks are available to buy in superb crystal clear sound off Amazon which I'd highly recommend. The album is Happy Traveller by Chris Glassfield and the MP3 album is available to buy from Amazon Digital Music.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Footage very kindly passed onto me by Bryan Green who is the source of the material :-)

Some early morning Ceefax from BBC1 in 1988 featuring some Olympics pages from the Seoul 1988 Summer Olympics which began the very same day on Sat 17 Sep 1988 and finished on the 2nd October 1988. This Ceefax transmission had been running for a while by the time we join it here, and features the last few tracks from Bottoms Up, then a very rare link track after a little gap and the beginning of...

Enjoy! Footage very kindly passed onto me by Bryan Green who is the so...

Ceefax transmission starts at 6.42am but gets stuck on the header page for the first 2 and a half minutes (that often happened during this period) and runs through until 7.07am although the transmission gets cut off just before Ceefax fades.

Bit of a mess up here, someone selected a single news page on P115 instead of 25 odd news and sports pages etc on P152!!! This Ceefax transmission ran from 5.45am to 5.59am - on P115 but unfortunately I can't upload the last few minutes of it.

Thank you for the ceefax of old with music too well done too.
Very nice ceefax of old with music thank you too.
Very nice ceefax of old with music too thank you too.
I was 9 years old starting a new week at primary school When my life wasn't unbearable
For the first clip, on 7/9/84, Ellipse is caught from the tail end of Slow Rock Cafe, plays through the entirety of Fedora, and into the start of Mariposa. For the second clip, on 7/15/84, Ellipse is played again, with this clip starting near the end of Fedora, and continuing on past Mariposa, and going through the next 9 songs, onto the closing track, Saga. The clip ends with silence - though I presume a tape change must have been in order, given that they had about half an hour on BBC One before the final program of "Encounters with Islam". As to what tape got a partial playing... I don't know!
Very nice too ceefax with music.

I agree. 1996 was the last great year. The filthy rotten stench life started in the summer of the year 2002!
I remember this CRAP being on in the mornings.
Not for long though surely.
Dose anybody know what this music is called at 0:15 I like this kind of music😎
So unrest in Israel, nurses going on strike....ahh not much changes in 35 years does it?
Brings back memories of sitting with my nanny in the early morning late 1980s / early 1990s watching Ceefax for the cheery music
Quite a fair of this sounds a bit like Frank Chacksfield Orchestra.
Wow I just loved this tape. Magnificent stuff.
Can't have been long after the dropped level 2 from Pages from Ceefax- though the Air quality page is still level 2 for some reason. I remember that from the time, I think it stayed that way for quite a while.
11:59 Programmes for Monday: This was broadcast during the 1993 Summer Holidays; July/August. I remember Hammerman and Pugwall.
crazy how much 1960s influenced 'muzak' they were broadcasting in 1995 here wow great flashback, thanks for sharing!
What announcer is that?
I love this tape, the first track is my fave with its slight 'Japanese Citypop / 80s anime' feel 💖
1996...the last great year in the UK. All downhill from then on...to the absolute sewage the country is now. Ceefax and music...happy times.
Hey, I remember 1996, I wasn't allowed to eat beef for some reason...
The song 16:42 is always warped. That's my favourite. How comes the song is so distorted on your other uploads???
30:50 - no news anywhere on the internet of this killing. Makes you wonder how many news stories there are, on old Ceefax pages, that the internet has no record of.
Just remember so fondly, circa early 1996, watching ceefax waiting for power rangers to come on. One time, the sun was coming up, the sky going from navy to a pleasant pink colour like the "finances" picture on here with the high-rise in the foreground. I had my power ranger plush (which my Gran had bought from the toy section of the long-defunct Lewis's store in Liverpool), and said to it "you're going to be on TV in a minute" :D
These old ceefax pages bring back memories....I was 15 years old at this time.
I don't like Track 5, Off Limits, as some of the chords are unpleasant and the ending is horrible (augmented penultimate chord which I find sinister). The other tracks are fine.
What is the tune at 3:01 called? I have a very good musical memory!
Never realised Strachan was subject of a tug of war between United and Cologne. This is a goldmine.
0:12 it's ceefax time
Thank you of course for the Ceefax here-very nice it is too as well!
What is the tune at 13.01 called?
49:22
How did this happen? Where the F did it come from??
31:11 uh oh
Why?

29:45 This is one epic track! Reminds me of those instrumentals they used to play on Radio 2 every evening years ago.
The link track between "Bottom's Up" and "Simple Piano" is called "Alpha Beam" by Dave Cornfield's Music Machine from a Mozart Edition LP. MESLP114 or the German LP LA10016 on the Airlift Label.
There seems to be a connection between this tape and Jewel In The Night and Colours.
