As a kid I stayed at my grandparents house in Webster Springs W.V. about 45 minutes from Green Bank. These areas are very remote, and there isn't much around except the sound of wrestling trees in the wind, a running creek, and an occasional car going by. You can actually hear yourself think in this environment. It's a paradise for those who seek refuge from a fast pace society or it's a nightmare for somebody who desires the opposite.

I think this is cool and it is untenable. To begin with most people on the planet cannot afford land. It has and continues to be hoarded by a few. Also, opportunities available to boomers that contributed to them being able to begin these projects no longer exist. It is not a coincidence that all these people are boomers.

They are coming along, better and better. And they are not lacking a single thing. Water is short, but that's only because they live in a freaking desert. And as our main man said, this isn't keep the planet green, peace and love BS, it's just logical. Imagine not worrying about heat or air con?!?!?!?! Getting three times the use out of the water one uses? They are limited by size, so a city scale development is impossible. But for a rural/suburb density level, these are absolutely the correct answer. Fire proof, hurricane and Tornado resistant. Earthquake resistant. And most importantly, suitable for an ever increasing hotter planet. In far too many ways, corporations and governments are our enemies. And I am a die hard urban materialist.

This is such a brilliant idea and it just makes sense to me...we the people have basically trashed the planet so to make good of this trash why not build an earth ship home and still live a fulfilling life & not just follow the mainstream way of life..I certainly could live in one of these, and have all the things that that I love to plant to grow and even better grow them inside my home, recycle my own waste to feed the plants , harness the sun wind and rain and live a reasonably free way life ...I think more people should look into this type of structure and learn new skills etc new friends and live in a wonderful community by the sounds of it. Like we have been wared for years and years about what we are doing to the planet yet Governments etc have just sat on their hands and continue to destroy the earth and it's only been in last however many years that they we decide to something about it even though scientists etc have been screaming out what we need to do to sustain life !! & I myself didn't really start to stop and have a really good think what this means so I have changed my thinking and very very conscious and remember that life is precious and so is the planet and do everything I can to look after it..!! So well done to the communities that have decided to live this way and I take my hats off to the man behind all this who started all this off what a great job you have done 👍 🦘🇦🇺🐨🙂💚

Seems nice on the surface, but I get a cult-like vibe from the people he interviewed. I could be wrong I've never actually met them, but that’s the impression I got. The place gives off that energy of align with our ways or piss off. Which is fine it's their community they are entitled to that. Many details about the place remain obscure. When he asked that guy, so people live here for free? Boy, did he had to think that one through before answering. Hope I'm wrong, but that's the vibe I got from some of the residents.
