They play cricket there Big Bash. Can they play baseball there too? Can it be more multiple use. If they want an indoor facility how can that be used by other sports during the week, especially in summer.

While the G is the magnificent and Optus is the ducks nuts at the moment. Adelaide oval is absolutely amazing and I’m an Eagles supporter from the Pilbara now living in Victoria. Blundstone arena in Hobart is my pick to go to simply because I don’t like being around a lot of people or crowds. Today’s society is pretty woke and shit. Hang on a minute, the Sydney Swans just completed and opened a new HQ and training base at the Royal Hall of Industries in Centennial Park. That's State land, with facilities (gym, pool, etc) open to the community. And the Swans self-funded the entire thing. This project is not improving the ground, it is improving the Cats football operations. That is entirely an affair for the Club and government funding shouldn't enter into it.

Why don’t you all complain and whinge about other Government funded projects. Geelong get stuff all infrastructure funds on a per capita basis compared to billion dollar Melbourne funded projects. Let’s not focus on the Billions of dollars of cancelled projects nor the waste spent on funding to appease marginal seats in other areas. What’s the fascination with the premier regional stadium in Australia being an example for other regional centres to follow. Every private sports franchise wants taxpayers to pay for their lavish stadium construction/redevelopment plans and come up with farcical & exaggerated "community benefits" to try to sell it when they put their hand out.

The labor party in Victoria spent like drunken sailors and we got nothing for it except for fascism during covid and a fat pension for dan andrews. So it's hard to complain about this.

Bruh, Geelong Football club must have had the most tax money funnelled into what is ultimately a single team suburban stadium out of any AFL club. I swear every 4 years (election time) theres some pork barelling going into Kardinia Park since at least the 90s.

Its worth mentioning that the Victoria government is deep in the red due to all the infrastructure projects in the last 10 years. I don't see the government funding such a facility in the next 5 years.

I haven’t seen anyone say what I’m about to say so I’m probably in the minority to say that this proposed stadium looks horrible. There would be no atmosphere in a stadium set up like that. And apartments on top of!! Guess the tenants won’t need to buy tickets- stupidest idea ever. 😊 The way things are going up there, I can see an “Andrews” style backflip coming where Brisbane drops out and says it’s just too expensive!! BTW I’ve been to QSAC a number of times and that place is terrible for transport and roads in and out of the area. Simples in charge will mean a simples Olympics
