A black & white photographer, I take my inspiration from my surroundings, the Lakes and mountains. I was brought up and still live in the Lakes. A beautiful place that runs through my veins. Walking up the mountains keeps me grounded and puts life into perspective. Here to share a little of what I love to do.

Two days of photography in Iceland with Fiona Lark

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to travel to Iceland, two whole days of making photos and filming. From the time I arrived to the time I left I felt this deep feeling of peace and calm. Iceland with its miles and miles of beauty. In this video I wanted to convey the peace and beauty of the place. Normally I shoot in rain and cloudy dark conditions and if the weather isn’t suitabl...
Out of my comfort zone, street portraits in Amsterdam by Fiona Lark
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 4 lety
In this video I travel to Amsterdam to take street portraits. This is a million miles away from what I normally do, taking photos of the Lakes and mountains in the Lake District. I get so inspired by so many street photographers who make it look so easy. I wanted to try doing something completely out of my comfort zone. I think I was more worried about making people feel uncomfortable and self ...

Beautiful photos, lovely lady
Wonderful video, very inspiring, thank you
I love your dark self portraits, but what do you focus on when using the timer?
It is actually not that difficult to ask strangers on the street for a picture. You need to understand, that most people like to be photographed in an at least seemingly professional setting - and most people are in fact flattered to be asked to be photographed. Also, it is absolutely ok and understandable that some people simply hate to be photographed, they will decline the offer. No loss for you, since just a couple steps away the next person is already happily waiting to be asked. Totally different is it, to take pictures of people without asking them. Most people hate that, and the photographer will be despised. Asking people is actually creating a win-win situation: the photographer will be acknowledged and the photographed person will feel good and elevated to be assessed as being interesting enough to be photographed.
❤❤❤❤ love this so much. Street photography isn’t as easy as it seems. Just asking to take someone’s photo is half of the work and it is much larger than most would assume. The fear of rejection or the hesitation to even bother them. You are a beautiful sweet soul.
✌️❤️
Spettacolare mia cara❤

Magnificent places and very suggestive atmospheres.
You have a wonderful vision for what for me is the key part of photography, to express an emotion in a dark and thought provoking manner. I’ve only recently discovered your talent via Insta. Great work Fiona

Fiona is such a babe. There, I said it.
Wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
I watched one video from your website and had to just watch them all, This captures something special and the photos at the end are incredible. Its pure inspiration
Super little short - I loved it and the photos you came up with. Great work by Ray Z some of his shots were incredible
I really liked this video - your photos are so haunting and original its great to see behind the scenes. What I cannot get my head around is how you manage to focus when you set up the camera and then have walk into the shot. Does it involve a bit of trial and error?
OMG! Is it Nikkormat FTN? O_o Love your work! Keep it up :)
