Hey there Jeff I’m curious about how your dog got his name MR. GRIFFY. He does a great job as supervisor.
@williamhall9204 grandkids named him Griffen, after griffindor in Harry potter
And that's not even a caterpillar part being pulled 😮 .
Love your business model and your success. Keep it going it works for you
Jeff, your videos are fantastic. Very informative and entertaining. I really enjoy the combination of technical information and humor. I’m extremely impressed with the kind of projects that you take on. The only thing I’d like to suggest, is that you seriously upgrade your rigging equipment inventory. I’m making this suggestion in the interest of safety as well as efficiency. As you are probably well aware, rigging equipment is very costly. But because you have a lot of lifting involved in your work it would definitely be a solid investment. I can see right away that your work will require that rigging equipment will need a lot of adjustability. My suggestion to you would be to check out the catalogs from some of the reputable manufacturers. Companies such as Crosby.Caldwell.Mazzella.and a few others. The companies I mentioned do extensive testing of their products, so you can rest assured these products will be safe and reliable for years. Keep in mind that you can purchase adjustable spreader bars that have been proof tested and stamped with the Safe Working Load. Because I have some experience with rigging equipment I’m going to recommend a few basic tools you might want to consider. Alloy Chain slings ( grade 100 ) for maximum strength, durability, and safety. A very good assortment of screw pin anchor shackles. You could also use several alloy Master Links. And of course you will need a fully adjustable spreader bar with the appropriate capacity. I really believe that equipment would make your job easier, faster, and a lot safer. When it comes to rigging I’m a big believer in doing it by the book. Hopefully this information can be helpful for your business. Take Good Care.
everyone send Jeff 20 lbs. of 7018......
Jeff, what keeps those track frames from spreading apart at the front when mounted on the dozer? I know that pivot bar goes in that cavity under the forward upper roller, but how is it retained?
Nice work boss, today's Chinapillar garbage is a far cry from the quality stuff of yesteryear!
Cat V8 power. How come we never see it helping outside?
Jeffery, Re-un-tightening, tightening bolts. Words of wisdom from a 2018 Enerpac catalogue on Torque Tightening. Frictional Losses. 50% at nut face, 40% in threads, 10% converted to preload. Rule of Thumb when loosening more torque need than when tightening. Im sure you will agree with that. 2'5 times input torque to breakout in fact. Sea water corrosion, 2.5 times the tightening torque. Penetrating oils highly recommended as is anti seizure compounds. I guess there would be less of a problem with frictional losses is the bolt could be stretched to a re.-determined preload, not possible in your case but have seen it done and works well. Nothing quite like pre-load on your nuts. Pete.
mechanics are leaving fast we hear too. our relative that wrenches was offered an extra $8 /hr to stay and still moved on so people running gear gotta brace for 2024 and forward cost of staff. my apprentice left industry cause he found a oil company gig paying 60 an hr vs 35
We're you successful in getting it running again? Reason I ask is because I just finished rebuilding mine and now I fired up the tractor and it has a extremely high idle. Only way I was able to shut her down was by yanking the fuel delivery line. I'm wondering what could be the cause? If you can help I'd really appreciate it. Thank you
did it runaway or just high idle? runaway would be something in the governor, and high idle would be something under the top cover binding
I agree with your business decisions Jeff I ran my business very similar to you it's all about the bottom line 👍
Looks good jeff
You do a excellent job that what you have to do with a family operation keep on keeping on . Happy Trails until we meet again ❤️
My Cat definitely enjoys the sound of your voice. When I watch your videos as soon as she hears you talking she goes over by the TV and sits there staring at it. When she hears Griffey bark she does get scared and runs and hides .
i think you need a pole barn just to give you some shade to work under
i guess i got that one....
Construction sounds like agriculture no matter what the equipment cost the cows still have to be fed or your ass will be out of business
Keep up the good work Jeff.
Hey jeff im assuming you were answering my question about new vs older equipment. Thanks for taking the time to explain your model it makes scenes.
Use Dry Ice on internal shaft after rosebud heat on hub.😢😢
Great work Jeff as always 🦘
Thanks!
You bet!
A very logical business decision and plan
Awesome I do the same thing been doing it for years have old d9g and a lot of older stuff people tell me I'm nuts but it works for being God bless everyone
They paint CATs different colors in other countries🐈⬛
As long as you use your weaker gun to tighten you will always be able to get loose with the strong one. LOL
This big cat does (lol)
10th cat prefers lasagna recipes

Lol new equipment for suckers
Jeff, don't take this the wrong way, but I like your junk.
Is it still one turbo rhe engine have you had any problems since the conversion to one turbo?
No issues
Great video Jeff glad to see your getting this side track frame together. It takes a lot of work but it somewhat meaningful when you know how to fix it. Thanks for sharing stay safe Jeff.
Jeff you would have fell in loved with the industtrial 400psi 3 stage piston leaf valve compressor we had on the U.S.S. Saipan LA 2 Marine Carry All. It looked like a giant Harley engine with an extra piston. It stood 5 feet tall.
Not to mention the high drive always have transmission hiccups constantly or catastrophic failure.
As always bro it was a great video. Ya bits you are working on are coming along. Safe travels. Ken.
much to admire watchinyou jpay and yr commentary never dull allways busy and good on you cheers to you
Is there an actual factory torque listed for the roller bolts and track guard bolts or is it just moose em tight?
As a sideboom operator give me a on poj any day. Glow plugs and reversible fans mean the start and can be warm in the winter
Thank for the answer RE: working in the shop rather than outside. It was kind of a lame question, but i was curious.
I hear ya. If people would just stop being broke and poor then we could all afford new stuff. The struggles are real out here.
Jeff wins!!!!!!
