Thanks for uploading the working video!!
Folks : before u replacing the thermacouple try getting a small grit sandpapper and cleaning the probe part of thermacouple. Even if ut doeant look dirty cabon builduo in enough to keeo it from wirking correctly. Fixed 2 of my gas rings this way
Is it the same solution for if it says the click sound but it doesn't turn on the flame.
Any ideas why the valve isn’t lining up flush with the machine when in reclined position? I’ve don’t everything right.
Should have took the back panel off. The thermostat is located there. Thanks for showing where all the screws are. 😂
Saw “ @user” comment below who cleaned the thermocouple sensor with sandpaper! My thermocouple on same Smeg cooker and burner was discoloured with a film of blackened carbon deposit so I sprayed some “car engine carb cleaner” onto a small piece of green woven kitchen scourer (wearing nutrile gloves) and cleaned the thermocouple and tip until clean. It now works fine and lights immediately! Not sure how long this will last until I have to order the part and get it fitted as shown in the video.
Same Smeg model and same issue, will try cleaning thermocouple first and then order the part and follow your excellent video.
Great video very informative and interesting learned a lot of info thanks RG nz
9:39 How did you know the little gas pipe to the burner is not leaking after you undone it? You know this is illegal? If it's leaking it will fill the underside and blow your face off and anyone else in the kitchen, wife, kids?? grandma? There's a reason it's illegal to work on gas in the UK. It's because Mr fix it's like you killed many families.
cant believe there's a large company named "SMEG". wtf?
I will never buy another SMEG anything in Ireland. There are no technicians to carry out repairs if you run into any kind of problems. A disappointing aspect of their after service, considering the cost of their appliances. Will be buying more mainstream brands in future where technicians are plentiful.
after 2 yaers stsds usefull TH ANX
Nice

You're good bruh
Thanks, this is useful for everyone that is facing the same problem, I have also the same problem I called the technician and he came to my home and he said will charge 150AED I said no. I will change it on my own.
I thought my kitchen was a mess!! Dude, wash some dishes or put them out of shot. Beer cans laying around. How do we take your advice seriously if you are so sloppy??
Let’s hope your a gas safe engineer
Is there any sealing compound recommended when you crack open the pipe work? To re seal the nut?
Have you replaced the cup gaskets every time the hob is opened
Thanks.
Can’t the tips just be cleaned instead?
had the same problem, fixed it by cleaning the tip of the thermocouple with some fine sand paper until it was shining like new and just worked perfectly. there isn't much "stuff" to break in a thermocouple, so most of the cases this issue happens is just because of carbon build-up on that tip. for anyone else with the same issue, just try sanding it down first until bright and shiny :)
Any particular sand paper to use?
@@abhishekdatta8800 nothing particular, mine was p240 don't need finer than that. just don't use coarse ones
@@user-qz6ix7od3b alright...thanks!
This sounds worth a try first! Cheers!
managed to snap the little clips on the front, there goes £15 :D lesson to be learnt there
Oops!
Amazing
Well done mate. Good effort whilst holding the camera. Got to sort mine out now, I will post some videos of the oven element, now gone after a year replacement OG part!
Did it work bruv?
@@techmansa Short story no. See synopsis (1) and next steps (2): 1) I had to change a few things, one of which was the selector switch which had blown and the other was thermal coupler. In the process I also replaced the ignition element, after which still no success. 2) After careful inspection I believe the thermal coupler sat slightly lower then the others on the hob. In short even though this was OEM I suspect they changed the part during at somepoint. I'm going to order a generic replacement and see if that makes any difference. I have a 100cm dual fuel oven so the effort is a lot but will post some footage of the process if you're interested. If you follow on techworkshop1 on CZcams and Instagram I'll get it up in the next few weeks.
Can't go wrong saying as this is from an official Dyson service DVD!!! Followed this step by step (as should be the case) and was able to extract my old COV, which was basically split along its entire length!! The one thing I would comment for the people is to NOT follow the step at 3:30, which is the removal of the service side linkage.... Reason for this is that the first step in the replacement/fitting video (czcams.com/video/h6Fk27GTx5I/video.html) has you putting the server side linkage back on..... The removal step must have been a prelude for a subsequent service topic on the DVD, which isn't needed if we simply need to remove and replace the COV.
Thanks for including the previous video! Yea, as soon I saw him remove that last part I knew I would skip that step.
What you just did was illegal
I do like to live on the edge
Greetings from Istanbul. I am a furnace repair and maintenance master. You are very successful in the repair business.
Don't know how to.....can do! love it. I needed to know how to get the hob off to sort the vibrating that occurs when the cooling fan starts. Very helpful indeed.
Glad to hear it Dylan!
Thanks this is really useful! Look forward to more content!
Thanks for your video!🥰
nice to see these things fixed as opposed to dumped... I have a smeg victoria range and one oven gets hot without turning the temp on, so i assume I've got to strip the whole thing down like you did to get access to the back of the knob and change the thermostat... wish me luck!
Good luck Dec!
Hey Freddie, nice video! It helped me to easily repair my Dyson vacuum cleaner. Would have been nice to see you add putting it back together, so I didn't have to keep rolling it back to see what order I had taken everything apart.
This guy knows his stuff!!
12:56 well spent. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Amazing cinematography.
