I'm originally from Los Angeles, lived in Atlanata for 20 years, and moved to Las Vegas 1.5 years ago. Hated all the drugs in Vegas, especially smelling people smoking cigars/weed/cigarettes in my apt and meth cooking in my condo (something I didn't experience in any other state). Disgusting. I was ready to leave the state. Then, I moved to Henderson. Absolutely love it. Still smell smoking/weed here and there but NOTHING like Vegas. This is my fourth place in the 1.5 years. Everything is so close and the people are super nice.

Bighorn sheep come down to graze on the lake side of BC. Particularly at Hemingway park. And before you ask at what time, they come when they decide to come. They don't run on human clocks.

Cost of living? Factor in cost of gas having to head into HEnderson for much of anything.

Summer can be beastly. But winter is mild.

I'm moving to Las Vegas from the cold side of Nevada up in Reno. I'm not looking forward to the super hot Summer but I hate the winter in Reno, so I'm looking forward to almost no snow and more hospitable weather at least 9 months out of the year, whereas in Reno, it is just very cold from November through April. Reno is not all bad but I think the biggest difference is just that you guys are a bigger more diverse city and that is a good thing. I don't gamble but I'm used to living in a tourist area, and we have Tahoe but you guys have Mount Charleston, so when I see these videos, it just looks like the biggest difference is more people, and the Summer kind of sucks but your Winter is very mild and you guys have professional sports.

Property taxes go down? Depreciation? Assessed value starts at your purchase price. If your property is owner occupied your taxes will go up a maximum of 3.5% a year. I am quite certain in an environment where property values drop significantly you could file for a reassessment.

I made a very big mistake by moving to Las Vegas I lost everything due to gambling and now am trying to recover myself by not gambling I use to go to the casino and cash my paycheck every pay day and I us to go to bank were my boss does his banking but it all ended up the same so no now I do direct deposit to my bank and it's a whole lot better for me now I don't withdraw money out of of the bank as much but goal is to try to save enough money to move somewhere else and try my luck

The median (the exact 50% of the population) may be a better measure because the mean/average is skewed by exceptionally high or low incomes.

If you like high crime, high heat, high homelessness, no buffets, high cost of living, some of the highest gas in the nation, no more 24 hr business….move to Vegas! The place has really gone down hill.

The only thing I would obsess over - assuming I had the money to buy a place - would be insurance and the cost of 24/7 aircon. That is one hellacious desert climate.

In US, there is no place with "the perfect weather". The best weather may be in SoCal; and in there, from April/May to Sep, it is cloudy almost everyday.

yes come to LV, Worst schools, Highest auto insurance, Super high crime that is covered up to keep tourist coming, You will get hooked on gambling drugs and alcohol, Horrific traffic and ridiculous energy prices $500 dollar power bills in the summer
