Various moments from coverage of the death of the Queen Mother on 30th March 2002. Apologies for the poor VHS quality, and also flicking back and forth between channels - although it does give an idea of how the various channels were reactive to the news, including the "In Memorium" side that appeared on the PremPlus football coverage.
This flame was also used for the 2001 Summer World University Games.

This plane flew directly over me as I drove along the old A120. I live in Takeley and was driving to Bishops Stortford. I was passing what was the Mercedes dealership, Start Hill (now the Audi dealership) on that evening in December 1999 in my car which had a glass sunroof. I saw the plane through the sunroof fly directly over me and thought it was flying unusually low. By the time I reached the M11 roundabout I heard the explosion and saw the huge orange mushroom fireball billowing into the night sky... the likes of which I have never seen, followed by burning embers floating down all around. It was this incident that made rush out the next day to buy my first mobile phone...a Nokia 5110.
That was my 1st phone in 2000 still have it. This accident could of been so much worse very lucky
This is actually disgusting. Being professional doesn't mean that players should be open to physical assault from ball boys and crowd. One can understand ignoring the abuses part but this is unacceptable. IMO professional players should have right to retaliate in case of physical attack without inviting punishment.
Little prick.
Came here via my CrimeDoor phone app. So many cases to investigate and solve but this one is heart breaking. And in broad daylight! Man this dude was bold. And that dove getting hit. What are the chances?

I recall some people paid around £20,000 to stay on millennium island so they could say they were the first to enter the new millennium 🎉 However after the event who would really know, care or be bothered. The only real winner was the owner of the Bank 🏦 account all the money was paid into, assuming it didn't crash due to the millennium bug 🐛 😉
