There is a big patch of yellow daffodils down the road from my house, growing on state owned land. The house is long gone but the daffodils are still there, growing all over the place. I believe they may be King Alfred, the flowers even have that slight twist at the tip of each petal.

I would love to see how they are now

I have always wondered why nobody else seems to plant the way I prefer, like on those color cards when choosing paint. So you slowly move from one shade to a different one. Not just random color blocks. So for example you would start with yellows, to yellow and red mixes, to reds, to reds mixed with some oranges, to orange. Slowly the shade changes in a natural kind of way.

grass saps all goodness from bulbs. It smothers and hides the blooms .OK on forest floor but best in clean soils .If transplanting lots on potash no nitrates and water in.

That's a very quick way to plant tulips I always plant tulips into pots so I am a bit slower in plant the bulbs

I just planted 10 large bulb Globemasters here in central IL on Nov 20. Something told me I planted wrong end up. I thought the thicker end was the stalk part so should be pointed up. Thankfully I went here on CZcams and found your clear concise tutorial with real bulbs. I redug them and put the correct side up. I feel like an idiot. LOL TY TY . BTW, I ordered them from Colorblends back in August and they are amazingly large healthy robust bulbs. Wow, :)
