    Why do you head the tips of the branches?

    • @59markr
      @59markr Před 8 dny

      Heading the tips of the laterals by about 30% reduces the number of buds which prevents too much fruit. It also causes the remaining lateral to thicken up to carry the weight of the fruit.

    Do the borers only feed at the bottom or do they climb also,because I have sap coming out on previously pruned branches.

    Restore your soil with Biologically Complete Compost and the tree would be Biologically complete and would be able to resist pests and disease. Check out Elaine Ingham masterclasses on Soil Regeneration and Biologically Complete Compost.

    People looks this up distraught is this honestly effective? Seems like if that much damage is done the tree is doomed. I don’t really know your video is 4 years old. Did it work or are you leading people astray? (I hope it worked and that I’m completely wrong)

    I didn’t prune my tree and now it already has blossoms today, is it too late to prune it?

    • @readwithstorybugs
      @readwithstorybugs Před 5 měsíci

      You can still prune it! However, you don't want to make any major changes or cuts now that it is getting ready to focus on fruit production. A light clean-up is still recommended even when you have blossoms.

      That's a great question! We actually made a video about it here: czcams.com/video/DiIF2XHWUqE/video.htmlsi=XF6jizIe4qKB9UEP Yes, we are in Hardiness Zone 7A and typically prune in March.

      I tried to see your vision. This tree is really tall. I climes it and pretty much toppe it. And cleared little branches on the stalk. Idk what im doing. All else fails....I'll chop it down. Has peach curl and bores this year. I don't spray. If it doesn't make it here....its not going to make it. Let life take its course

    I think my peach tree is around 10 years old, and I have never pruned it. I plan on doing some of the simple pruning you mentioned. I am sure I need to shorten the length on some of the large limbs, but I'm not sure about doing it.

    Is it okay to have the scaffolding branches so low to the ground? I would have expected it to start higher up

    • @dkbomb
      @dkbomb Před 4 měsíci

      lower scaffolds lead to easier harvesting height (without ladder) when it's in maturity.
