Fun fact: the Congratulations scene from Evangelion is in of itself a reference to a British TV show, I Claudius, based off Emperor Claudius of Roman history The scene is essentially a deluded Claudius hallucinating those who hated and ridiculed him in the past praising him whilst he’s on his deathbed
