@@laureng007 heya no they have 2 UK plugs in that box thing but we found our Apple chargers were too big to fit side by side next to them so could only use one at a time. The only other plug in the room was a US one on one side of the bed. I’d recommend bringing an adapter for this just in case your ones don’t fit in the box (as we experienced). We did find if you go to guest services, you can rent a universal adaptor from them at a charge of $50 which you get back once you return the adaptor. This was for the Apex, not sure if it applies to the other ships. To see the plugs themselves in more detail I show them in our inside stateroom tour recently uploaded before this video 😊 hope this helps!

@@user-ro8dw8ms9n oh amazing we wanted to do the fjords but none fit our timings! So beautiful, if you get the chance to kayak any fjords I’d recommend it - there’s often places you can hire kayaks there and then instead of an excursion. We did it in Geirangerfjord and it was beautiful. That’ll be an amazing cruise in the Apex - enjoy!!

@@BethandDavidCruise We have just returned from a cruise on Queen Mary 2 . We did the late night snacking for two nights as the spare ribs were calling to me . However we realised it wasn't a good idea eating so late. So we banned ourselves :)

We just got of a Celebrity cruise and we love that line, but as soon as we got off we booked our next cruise on Azamara in only a few weeks because as you say it’s great value. Since the alcohol is included at the base price, the price jump isn’t so different considering you’re getting small ship and premium service. Glad to hear you’ve had a good experience, it’s a very popular line, can’t please everyone. We have lines we love that we go on instead and they’re only a bit more expensive.

Good idea in theory - awful in practice! We went to the customer service desk to ask for an adapter to use different plugs in our stateroom though and we had to put down a $50 deposit on one but they refunded once we returned it to the desk nearing the end of the cruise.

Interesting to hear! We’re back on Azamara in a few weeks and can’t wait for the white night. But we don’t really drink much so hoping this won’t be an issue for us. Would be really angry if we got charged for something like that though. I’m sure if you took it to customer service they would take it off - I complained about the wifi I bought and they removed the charge. Considering the drinks are included in the fare I’m not surprised they may be filling it with more ice than drink. Overall I think it’s great value, but if you really like a drink a certain way or type of drink, then perhaps not so good 😭 it’s unfortunate you had a bad experience!

@@BethandDavidCruise Thanks for taking time to reply. My favourite cruise company is Silversea, had a superb time in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea last year and sailing around New Zealand with them later this year. Expensive but a real treat.

@@badgastein2 we haven’t tried silversea but heard so many good things, would love to try one day. I tried Seabourn but it was a long time ago but loved it. By the way, David is a Cruise Connoisseur at Panache Cruises (luxury travel agent) and they do really great prices on Silversea and other luxury lines. If you don’t already use a TA I highly recommend as they can get you great deals. Oh now Princess is a worthy competitor though! I love the beauty of the Celebrity ships and think the food has an edge to it over Princess, but you’re right - Princess provides a great balance of quality and price. I do miss the pizza round the pool, you can’t beat it!

As far as we understand it, there is no strict dining slots. We got recommended to eat at 8:30pm, but in reality you can go to the restaurants at anytime between 5:30-9pm. So you can adjust to go whenever you feel fits the evening’s entertainment! This was for the main dining room and standard staterooms, not sure if it’s different for aqua class or suite guests but I would assume not.

I’m not sure any cruise line is loved enough by us to do a transatlantic! But we’re port people instead of sea day people. Which ship are you wanting to sail on? @@BethandDavidCruise We normally sail to the med in the summer , as flying from Bristol and 11 nights in the sun is easy and nice. Next year we are looking for a new experience . So its transatlantic and carribean B2B Oct/ Nov . Thats the plan :) Drawing up short list . Planning is half the fun .

I really need to buy a travel hairdryer - they’re usually pretty rubbish on most cruise ships! I haven’t looked into the rules.. just packed our handheld steamer in our suitcase and they didn’t stop us 🤷🏼‍♀️ they can confiscate these things and give them back at the end of the cruise though, but I’ve never had that happen to me.

Yep there are plenty of classes to do things that are free (of any sort) and there are free gym classes such as yoga (I think!) and also paid ones like spinning, they also have “F45” which is a paid for class. We’ve never done any so can’t speak of how good they are, sorry! And yes the food is delicious 🤤

Hahah well we have to find something to nitpick on.. and pizzas always important to us in our 20s, but we’ll happily give that one a miss considering the rest of the food was outstanding. Having just been on Celebrity who has the best buffet at sea in our opinion, we’ve concluded we like the smaller buffet anyway, less choice but more enjoyment of the food and feeling less bloated all the time! We eat until we feel sick (still think we have teenage metabolisms when we don’t😅) and that becomes tiring. Never felt like that on Azamara. And yes, I cruises with Cunard a lot in my earlier years and loved the afternoon tea and dress up, but not so much these days. And I don’t think I’ve ever tried rum and raisin.. maybe one day🤔 my recent obsession is plain frozen yogurt with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.. I’m a chocolate fiend!! @@BethandDavidCruise can’t believe the speed of your reply 😂👍…..I agree with all your points …Celebrity definitely has the most outstanding buffet in terms of size and variety and of course quality , but I know what you mean about overdoing it when faced with such a mega offering of cuisines from around the world .. we often would sit back at our table with combinations of food which were extremely bazaar …but tasted unreal . Azamara is a bit more on the civilised and steadier side of life ….totally agree about the Grill , so nice to sit out in the fresh sea air , have a beer and a burger etc.. love the content and your take on cruising… We hope to get on another Azamara trip next year, and your video confirmed that plan , we have 3 booked for the rest of this year , 2 Cunard and 1 celebrity …. Tough life 😎..

Hi Judith! Thanks for watching and I did thank you 😊 the doors open half an hour before the show and we recommend getting there at least 20 minutes early. The busiest are the celebrity production shows, get there as early as possible (30 minutes) before these as they pack out. Unfortunately we rarely shop onboard so can’t show you much about these. They had a good lot of shops though, but very high end usually designer brands (Cartier, Bvlgari etc) focusing on watches, perfume and jewellery. They had some lifestyle shopping too and of course celebrity merch. They brag their shops onboard are cheaper than land as no VAT, not sure how true this is but likely so for the higher end stuff. They also did a “captains clearance” on the last day so hold off or ask the attendances about this if you’re interested in buying something!

We completely agree. We just got off celebrity and if we had bought the drinks package (we didn’t) we realised we’d have spent more than an Azamara cruise or similar. For the excellence you get from Azamara (except big entertainment as you say), they offer the best value for money we know of. David works for panache cruises and has experience with all lines and consistently says Azamara is the best value. So much so we’re looking to book another one this summer, providing the flights aren’t too bad!

It’s pretty much the biggest we like to go with a ship, she holds about 2900 passengers. The ship was really well designed for this, with lots of space and comfortable seating everywhere. Our sailing was supposedly full, and we only struggled to get seats or felt it was crowded when we had a grey sea day so people couldn’t utilise outdoor seating, the sunny days where the whole ship could be utilised was fine. And the buffet during rush hour was quite hectic, and some of the shows. We found if we got places early enough to secure seating we got around all these problems though. Any more crowded and it would have been too much but we think the ship could just about handle it. We did one before on Beyond and we had 1/3 capacity - it felt like a private yacht!! Luck of the draw I guess.
