Simplifying Hand Sculptures
Learn more on how to sculpt hands in the premium course - proko.com/handsculpt
To create quick hand gesture studies in clay it's a good idea to use the "middles, pinky, & thumb" technique. Start by sculpting the forearm and the middle three fingers as a simplified, stretched teardrop shape. Next, add the thumb and pinky using basic shapes-a flattened drumstick for the thumb and a bowling pin for the pinky. Finally, block out the fingers, indicating knuckles and padding. Aim for simplicity and complete each study in about 20-30 minutes.
ASSIGNMENT: Create 3 gesture studies using this method and post them in the course - proko.com/798

Great vid
Please show youre making molting...not youre face..
The wire used in this skeleton is definitely not 14 gauge (1.4 mm). I watched the skeleton video lesson and thought it was great, but this information (14 gauge) confused me a little.
Congratulations on cleverly covering up close to 8 minutes of self promotion as something that would be helpful and not be a complete waste of time.
I didn't know you had to build out the bones to make this a sculpture.
The hands are primarily made up of bones so understanding the bones is definitely helpful.

Do you have to use a special releasing agent on oil based modeling clay before applying the silicone? If not, am I able to reuse the clay after for another sculpture?
Super

I wish the muscles had normal non latin names
You don’t have to remember their names, rather remember their placement and shapes. You’re not a doctor at the end of the day
@@donni7887 i know i know, but it would be easter doing art guidance with coworkers. Also, it would be easier for the doctors.
Спасибо за видео. Слава Украине!

Very nice
hello sir.. chris here from kenya, i like your work. my question is ... can one use another figurine from maybe word, marble to produce a mold from silicon?
I just guess-ta-mated on the weird dolls I make. 🙃 Gonna have to go measure & see how I did. Lol 😂 I pose them. They are made of recycled parts of old clothes.....my parents lived through the depression of the '30s. Throw Not Away! It's a part of my being. 🙃 I learned through trial & error...... which is not a bad thing. Thank you for sharing your video. 👍 ☮️💖🌻
I need an adult!
Fast and easy to follow. Thanks for making this so user friendly. Using your unit method makes it easily scalable. Great technique. Thank you.
