Know I'm late, but you missed something out about Reece: the fact that he's a *culinary* genius. Heck, ALL the boys in that family had some form of genius. It's just that Hal and Lois were so focused on Malcolm as their ticket out and what he could do with his future that they failed to nurture (or maybe even notice) the talents held by their other children.

If liminal spaces freak you out, I recommend watching 28 Days Later. I find empty spaces relaxing and peaceful. I was a huge fan of Wallice and Gromit as a kid and never found it scary at all. I think puppets are way creepier than claymation. The character designs of the show Spitting image, in the 90s gave me nightmares

Big fan of 28 Days Later. One of the best British films of all time and probably the most intensely upsetting horror films of all time. Seen it 10+ times and still disturbs me. Such a grotty, evil film.

I rewatched The Wrong Trousers recently and there's a shot in it where Wallace is on top of the roof of the museum and it has the city in the background with apartment and office buildings sporadically lit floor by floor and it really struck me how creepy the vibe of this place is. Absolutely love W&G but yeah, feels like Stafford after the rapture.

This completely unrelated to the simpsons but anyway. I don't know why but when i was little there was these two groups of prehistoric documentaries called walking with dinosaurs and walking with beasts . Walking with dinosaurs was scary to me because there was just music and the backgrounds or just dead dinosaurs on some episodes also the strange music with the still backdrop during the credits but walking with beasts was fucking scarier because in one episode there were giant prehistoric ants and they murdered a baby terror bird hatching from its egg and stripping its body to the bone and the earthquake scene in episodes one were toxic gas is going into the atmosphere and suffocating al l the creatures during the night and in the morning you just see dead bodys and the mysterious kinda terrifying soundtrack but if anyone else had this experience let me know in the replies

I'd think you'd like the Wallace and Gromit game made by telltale. It does have a decent sized roster of characters, but the town still manages to fill empty. Combine that with washed-out lighting. It has a slightly different, but still foreboding atmosphere.

  • @embroideredragdoll

Weirdly enough, I find Wallace and Gromit soothing. But I think it’s a geographical thing because Wallace and Gromit takes place in the North of England and being Mancunian, the setting is comforting to me. The characters are reminiscent of people I know and their experiences and interests and it just feels nostalgic to me.
