I hope you don't make this point later in the video, but what I've seen up till about 5 minutes in isn't entirely true. It's really not only about the size of the soil, unless you're going for orchids as you've mentioned. For many plants it's all about the ph-level, especially rhododendrons, hydrangeas, blueberries and even strawberries need slightly acidic soil. You can achieve this by watering with coffee/fertilizing with coffee grounds, but when first planting, it def makes sense to use special soil. Also the whole point of seed starter soil is to make it low on nutrients, so the seedlings don't etiolate. Cheers!

I live in the UK and we had a mild but wet winter and a cooler and wetter than normal spring. My morello has budded but nothing since, but otherwise looks healthy. It's in a large pot rather than the ground, so I'm wondering if that might be a factor (although I bought it last year in a pot and it flowered and got fruit). Really hoping it recovers.

Does it matter where your compost pile is? Should it be in the shade? Full sun or somewhere in between?

I'm really curious as to if Trifecta would be good for cannabis. I am not asking you endorse the idea, and I can legally grow it, so I am just curious if it would work for that and I would feed it the same I would a tomato or another heavy feeder. Shipping seems high, but fertilizer is heavy! It's literally like mailing rocks. I was a bit colicky over mine too, but this year, the beans, tomatoes, and chards are going nuts and I have become a believer. It goes a long way in my containers and small raised beds--well worth it! 🎉 Also, we really have USPS to thank for shipping cost, not MIgardener. 🤷‍♀️

This year I bought Trifecta for the first time. My seedling Roma tomatoes are now 4 feet tall and about 3 feet wide. My cucumber vines are over 4 feet tall. Most of my seedlings are doing great except for one species. My seedling peppers were appearing stunted at about 9 inches tall. I put Trifecta down just yesterday. I’m scared…..very scared 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Over the last 25+ years of gardening I find a small piece or two of garbage usually plastic in almost every bag ive ever bought. And from many different companies and soil types. I compost and make amazing soil at home and im always carful not to put garbage in my compost and have never once found garbage in my compost. I have 6 kids at home who play in the yard. How hard can it be to keep garbage out of their products...

I have been thinking about buying some Trifecta + for a bit now. I have some stuff growing already that I need to fertilize and it will be the first time I fertilize it, can I just add it to the top or do I have to work it into the soil? I am still new to growing even though this is my 4th year trying to grow anything. Thank you.

Getting just nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus for plants is worse than eating only 3 types of food because each type of food has many nutrients. It would be like only eating macronutrients with no micronutrients. Like a smoothie consisting of only oil, sugar or starch, and protein isolate.

Most folks don't have logs laying around. It gets very frustrating when people say "use logs" and you live in an urban environment.

I get onion starts from a local greenhouse center. They advertise it at 12 starts for $1.99 but I usually get 30 to 50 in a pack. I separate them, but I don't make a hole. I put the roots where I want the onion to go and just push my finger on the roots into the soil down to the depth I want it and just tighten up the soil around it. It works great with damp soil too. Yes I also prune them before planting so they don't have to support a long leaf.
