The Egyptian god Anubis was the inspiration for Lucario. So when A pal literally called "Anubis" looks like the Egyptian god Anubis, you can't really be surprised it looks a little bit like Lucario. They look only vaguely similar, because of course they were going to look a little bit like each other. They were inspired by the same thing. Why is that the example so many people use to be like "See, it was all stolen" when there are better examples to make that argument. It is honestly one of the weaker examples if you ask me. But Lucario is popular and people even outside the pokemon fandom know of them. So that is why I think that particular example gets blown out of proportion, when more obscure pokemon get overlooked as better examples just because fewer people know of them.
