I mostly build model tanks and aircraft as this is my main interest in life. I also like cars so occasionally I will build a car or two for a friend !
I will try to make more detailed build videos showing what I use and how I use it and I am by no means a professional so what I show is just how I make models !

Back to 1:48 scale this time. I'm really enjoying these 1:48 kits feels like there's more space to do various weathering techniques like oil shading that I find difficult on small aircraft .

I picked this kit up from The Tank Museums gift shop after a recent visit and noticed the kit didn't come with decals, which at first I didn't think was a problem but it was hard finding decals which fit with this early type of Sherman. Overall fairly happy with the result .
Meng Medium Mk.A Whippet 1:35 Scale

It's been a while since I've built a tank so I thought I'd give this one a go Mengs Whippet from WWI . Half way through the build I decided to go to the tank museum to see the real thing and get the tank flame back . Really happy with how this one turned out everything pretty much turned out how I pictured it so yeah enjoyable build .

Well another aircraft added to the 1:48 collection and definitely a aircraft well known to a certain generation of air cadets and student pilots . I enjoyed this one although I was surprised by some fit issues with the kit like in the engine bay area where the nose attached . The wing issue where you have to cut the pins off baffles me how Airfix missed that one . One stupid mistake I made was ...

My first ever Great Wall Hobby kit and I really enjoyed it a very quick build . I've finally completed my V bomber collection although the Vickers Valiant will be getting replaced by Great wall hobby's kit coming out soon. The one I have built is from Mikro mir which is a rough kit and not very accurate .

Well this kit certainly fought me, which considering this is a new tool airfix kit is embarrassing to admit . The kit is great for sure but the canopy design to me could of been better, the amount of nibs you have to trim off on such a delicate frame really challenged me . Overall I was happy with the build until I took off the masks to find inside had fogged which I've never experienced before...
Tamiya Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero 1:48 scale

I enjoyed this one from start to finish, It's been seven years since I built a 1:48 kit and this was a good kit to start on. I said to myself from the start I wanted a fairly clean looking zero not too heavy on the chipping as I really love the green of this paint scheme . I will definitely be doing more jap wings for sure to some more colours from the MiG paint set I have .

Another quick video of my completed Horten Ho 229 from Academy. As much as I like the result it isn't at all accurate to the real thing as there was only one aircraft ever completed which is at the Smithsonian in the U.S which is in a overall grey scheme I believe . I do believe some late war German aircraft did have this particular paint scheme with the Brown violet and camo green so maybe if ...

It's been a while since I made a video or built a kit for that matter but we're back ! Thought I'd keep it easy with Trumpeters new tooled Vulcan, nothing to report on the build aspect very easy to assemble, my own painting skills were a little rusty not completely happy with the end result but it is what it is .

Well what I thought was going to be a really crisp and very easy to build kit turned out not to be . The plastic is actually from Revell there 1998 tool of the tornado which does have nice details but is a bit tired. Some of the main fitting parts like the air intakes had some nasty steps and joins that really needed some attention. The clear parts were really poor fitting and weren't the best ...

This was a very last minute build as I bought it to be a Christmas present for a friend but didn't leave myself a lot of time to build it . I originally thought I could cut the canopy open and cut the door open to expose the photo etch I had bought for it but that did not work well so I had to buy a Vac form canopy instead . Overall I'm fairly happy with the result .

G'Day SM76. Awesome build. There is supposed to be a panel line that runs along the top and bottom of the fuselage as the planes in real life were two halves joined together (just like a kit 🙂). Looking forward to seeing more builds. Cheers.👍👍👍

Thanks for the comment, I don't think this kit had those style of decals, I think it's the newer eduard kits isn't it ?
@@scalemodelling76 If your decals sheet is dated from 2021 or more recent you can. But WOW, even without the peeling, your kit is fantastic :)

Very realistic ,beautiful!Whats the trick on building the tracks?how did you glie them together and make them curve like the real ones? Is there a jig for this work?
Thank you, I think I put the links together dry however many the instructions say and then glued them and just before the glue is completely solid I wrapped them around the wheels . They weren’t the best fitting tracks if I remember they don’t sit on the teeth very well
@scalemodelling76 i am currently building it too and wanted a heads up about those tracks because overall fiting isnt this kits best characteristic as i too found out! You pulled off really great!
The camo you painted is it the one the soviets used in Afghanistan?

I remember it was in the movie The Hunt for Red October where it was the first time I had ever heard of the Russian Typhoon Class Submarine and man it is insane how huge these things are.

hi there, great video d o you remember what parts you used for the big door? like you said dont tell you how to make the big door open. kind regards .
To be honest I can’t remember, I think the kit gives you parts for a open door but you have to cut the door out on the model and then add the interior parts

Great build, love the sponge idea for textured cast armour.
Yeah it’s ok although you can only dab once or twice the surfacer goes off quick
@@scalemodelling76 That's true, could you reactivate the surfacer with a light coat of thinners, and then use the sponge some more?

I worked on RAF Chipmunk overhauls at Cranwell 1984-5. Brilliant little aircraft. Your model is gorgeous, a really great result. Excellent!

@@scalemodelling76 I’d just finished a 3 year tour in Germany on front line Jaguar squadrons…..to say that there was a difference in intensity would be an understatement. Once I’d settled into the Chipmunk I really enjoyed it. From nuclear armed supersonic jets to a basic, fabric trainer was a bit of a shock. All great experience

Yeah absolutely looks sleek and modern to this day . I’m not sure to be honest it’s the only Great Wall hobby Victor I found there may be another version or maybe a company that does a conversion set ?
@@scalemodelling76 Looked it up on Scalemates and GWH do a tanker version! And the Vulcan box art shows it with Shrikes fitted - did yours come with that option?

@@scalemodelling76 My third kit since coming back to the hobby. I've done it as one of the RAF Gatow Berlin station flight aircraft that was used for photographic spying by BRIXMIS in the cold war.

Sadly very disappointing, seems younhave all the kit, none of whichni have, notneven a cutting mat. But the paint is bad, fitting and finish is worse. No rigging supplied? Could have at least made some standing and running rigging, so many things wrong its embarrassing. All i have is acrylic paint and a brush and thats all i use on my models, nothing fancy. The bow and stern gallery details? Where? At least dry brush yellow hues and windows. But nothing 0/10

Very nice and relaxing music. And I enjoyed seeing you build the model more or straith forward from the box not trying to do things more complicated to get more "perfect" details. Not many will know anyway and you still get a very good story. For excampel you could had studied how the ropes was really and have mounted them all. You could had realized that the ratline is totally out of scale and had made some new yourself. You could had made more realictic sails yourself. You could had made the deck far more "natual" wood looking and so one and so one. However just taking a desicion and just build the model is sometimes just better to do. So you never ending up being finish with any model because there is allways the hunt for more and more details. :-) And yes I like the idea of how you build the water.
