So can we conclude that as time passes by, the diameter of earth increases by a small scale by formation of new layers?

Swamp environment is ideal for coal formation mainly. Terrestrial woody materials (humic type) washed away by rivers and deposited in deltaic environments results in mostly gas and a small amount of oil. For oil part, a marin environment is required at one point of Geological time frame. And the main kerozen(remaining of animal or trees decomposed by bacteria) for oil is marine organisms or plants. They produce best oil. There is a quality difference between oil produced from plants and organisms. Sediments deposited above the remainings without oxygen creates a anaerobic environment which after million years of deposition is followed by catagenesis stage(known as kitchen of hydrocarbon). Here there is temperature difference where 60-160 degree Celsius produces oil and 100-200 degree Celsius produces gas (gas and oil zone overlaps). And further more temperature is coal. So key factors which control the type of fossil fuel- source kerozen, depositional environment , temperature zones. And for it to become a reservoir, the fossil fuel (oil and gas) requires a migration process from origin rock(source rock) to a porous rock (reservoir rock) via cracks or buyoyancy characteristics. Fold and fault structure acts as traps for favourable accumulation of fossil fuel. But a seal rock above the trap is required otherwise the fossil fuel (oil and gas) will leak away. So the timing of migration must be after trap formation. So there are subsurface conditions for fossil fuel to be extracted in production stage.

What a load of dribble, We use millions of liters of oil daily, The process your trying to sell here is rubbish! Oil is only second to water in availability. This whole scarcity crap has run its course, If oil were a fossil fuel we would have used it all in the industrial revolution era! Oil is naturally occuring in the earth. The deepest fossil ever found is at 16,000 feet, The shallowest oil has been found is 28,000 feet,So how can oil be a fossil fuel? It doesnt take much to learn that the idea of oil being a fossil fuel was designed by the oil companies so they could continue to raise the price of oil and their profits by claiming scarcity .
