Rest in peace to our Legend 🙏🏽
Why does he side stares?
The dropdown list has so many options. How do I decide what I need? Thank you.
What is the name of that scraping tool?
Takes some real courage to adjust a $150 reed 😂😂😂
the reed he would throw away sounds way better than I have even imagined myself playing.
Razor blade works just as well
I never touch flat part of reed, but use razor blade on curved area with awesome results
The flat part of the Reed is the number 1 operation. Cheap razor blades are not even close to a ReedGeek Gerald.
i never understood why you have to spend 60 bucks on something when a regular razor blade applied correctly does the same exact thing? your shaving off a thin layer of wood.
Hi Sam, ReedGeek’s are extremely balanced with an ultra fine and completely true edge. They will actually leave the reed flatter then it left the factory and aid in sealing the pores. Also, they have specific curves to perform very precise balancing and profiling to the top side. A razor blade is not only dangerous and refined at the edge, but will tend to chatter and leave gouge’s and nicks in the reed when pressure is applied. … Mauro
@ReedGeekTool well I’d love to try one without the investment! I like using the plasticovers, can those be adjusted?
@@sampowellmusic The ReedGeek can be used very successfully on plasticovers as they are rarely flat. Email us at reedgeek@gmail.com for a summer discount coupon.
I recently got a reed geek and I am very happy with it. I got a Bari synthetic reed, classed S, soft or 2.0 I got it to allow younglings to try a clarinet easily. Plastic reeds disinfect very well. The reed was too stiff for me, and I use 3.5 or 4. Thanks to you, I have taken my reed geek to this reed to make it easier for younglings to use. Thanks.
A person can't see squat what you are doing. Please film closer with light from behind not blinding everything. Thax
I noticed you have some synthetic oboe reeds there- do you happen to know how to get some synthetic American scrape oboe reeds?
how do you sharpen these?
You don't need to. That's the beauty of it.
Magic groove
Mauro, do I need a Bullet for synthetic reeds or can the Classic or G4 work well? Thanks
Hi Warren, Both the Classic and G4 will work on all synthetics. The Bullet was designed to not only excel on cane reeds but work extremely well on the Legere polymer. ...Mauro
David Jamming at home.Right on my brother.
I met David Sanborn backstage once. Very nice guy. Been fan for a long time.
I think it takes more than just flattening the back of thar reed to fix it. Honestly it sounds as crap after as it did before.
Thanks for your helpful tips. I have trouble with paying $30 for a reed that ya STILL need to adjust..
Sure John!..I understand completely. Unfortunately, it is going to be very hard to produce a synthetic reed that will play equally well on various mouthpiece designs and varied tip openings . ReedGeek tools and specifically the new "Bullet tool" are the only tools on the market that can successfully undertake this endeavor with repeatable results.
I know this is 8 years ago, but put on some rubber gloves if you’re touching something that is going in my mouth.
Thanks Mauro!
thank you very much sir.
I have one and use it daily. Sometimes I wonder should we just buy softer reeds?
Great video, thank you!
Their must be an easier way!
Just got black diamond Already improved an existing reed Looking forward into a mound of rejected reeds I just know that it's going to save a great deal of money AND Reduce nerves on concert night Thank you , Saint Mauro
And a reed number three can I turn it into a 2 medium or etc?
honestly, try the heat treat method seems safer then this
