    You only ever see this type of reaction from female pilots. Even in commercial aviation, the only pilots I have ever heard being too scared to carry out a landing were females. It's not good at all frankly. They have to be held to the same standard as men.

    Another contrived war. The Kuwaitis were stealing Iraqi oil (as okayed/instructed by CIA/ Washington DC). Hussein was hoodwinked, told the west would do nothing if he taught those upstart Kuwaiti dictators a lesson. He invaded to stop the theft. The rest is history. The true purpose of the CIA .... to provoke global conflict, the lifeblood of the US economy. The ZOSA economy.

    lol 25 knot tailwind at 500 feet is nothing. Not even an issue at all. As long as it shears to a headwind or crosswind or even dies down to a 10knot tailwind in the landing it’s all normal. Nobody can land with a 25 knot tailwind on the runway as it would exceed just about every commercial airliners limitations but also ATC would flip the runways around if that was the case as well. But 25 knot tailwind at 500ft AGL is easily manageable. Gotta work a little harder but no biggie

    Storm air is apparently serious. I'm not a believer in alu sheet and rivet construction. It's both flimsy, ugly and labor intensive. The way Diamond does it with 2 extremely strong composite wing spars is probably good. It doesn't take much weight in composite at the wing base to give it strength that cannot break even at 20g.

    The F-16 pilot lost his wings a year later after he trashed another jet. The F-18 caught an arrestor cable (similar to what's on an aircraft carrier), not a crash barricade Luke what was shown on screen. All USAF bases that have fighter jets have an arrestor cable system on the runway for aircraft that need to catch the cable. All USAF fighter jets also have a tail hook. Not just navy birds

    The FAA needs to get off of its fat ass and tighten up on the FAA check rides and licensing. Also, this BS about not having the appropriate charts and relying on a freaking iPad isn't cutting it. These idiots are going to kill someone in the air or on the ground because of their gross incompetence. We have you tubers crashing in good weather and unable to find the airport and they're practically flying over it. We have IFR folks who can't operate in the Instrument environment without "vectors" because they're sorely not familiar with procedures. This is on the FAA and flight instructors. Who is handing out licenses and ratings to these people? What's going on? Pay $5.95 for an Instrument rating? Pay $2.50 for a PPL? Get your house in order FAA before people get killed!

      It's hard to know for sure, but it's almost certain that it was not the weather in and of itself which caused the structural overload. Chances are the pilot lost control of his aircraft in the rough air and over stressed it to the point of structural failure. And, if past history is any indication, the pilot was most likely not as current as he should have been when flying in IMC and I'll bet a dollar to a doughnut that he had not recently practiced unusual attitude recovery when in instrument conditions. Flying in and around thunderstorms is dangerous but usually not because the storm is too powerful or the aircraft isn't strong enough. Problems like this one are almost always caused by pilot error and most often lack of currency and/or inadequate training is a strong contributing factor.

      Flying around a cloud (per FAR/AIM 2000' horizontal distance)... turbulence violently flipped my left wing up out of no where. One big push up and it of course rocked/banked the plane. I was by myself and it freaked me out a little. I've flown a lot of bumpy trips but that moment sent current through me. So yes, turbulence can tear a plane asunder; especially towering cumulus. When you see the top of a cloud billowing, boiling and pushing up, that's convection ☠☠☠ BEWARE!

I can't help but wonder, if he had some of today's tech in the cockpit, if the outcome would have been different. The stormscope was marginal at best. But back then that's all there was. **oh and that is not fake airplane noise, that is unsqulched carrier RF.

  • @redbird444
    @redbird444 Před 2 dny

    Most likely it wasn’t the turbulence that “ripped the wings off”, it was loss of control due to turbulence and pilot-induced over-stress of the airframe.

  • @josephkaminski1857

    Lesson is telling ATC to KISS off, take up own navigation. ATC directed him right to it, Pilot afraid to ask for heading change. Another plane called in and asked for a small heading change even though ATC said it was clear, they gave it to him, the commander pilot was a wimp and should have made a heading change that was required. Afraid to ask ATC for heading change who was telling him his heading to take . For the other plane ATC said ok, to small heading change, but that pilot says he sees nothing on his scope. Then after the commander crash ATC starts guiding planes away from the storm cell. This has been happening for decades. Never do what ATC says if you as pilot know better. ATC= Airplane Tragedy Creator
