Excellent lesson. How did you manage to paint such straight lines, strings on the guitar ? I am doing a painting of a cathedral, not able to know how to paint thin lines, as well curved shape of dome interior. Please help.

This was just the video I needed. I am planning to paint a portrait of my daughter's dog as a gift for Christmas, well I just need to get the courage to start it! I have been watercolor painting for about a year now. I have not attempted fur yet, but I am so excited to give it a try. The dog is a large shepherd/collie mix with long fur. He is mostly black with areas of tan/caramel color like you would see on a shepherd breed. I can see why I will need to purchase a new brush to make the fur easier. Thank you for your informative and wonderful videos. I will be watching more of your animal tutorials! Thank you!

This wonderful video at least confirms to me that I am doing everything correctly though with not so great results, from needing more practice. I am almost ready for your on-line school I think. I am much older than most of your students and haven't been painting all that long, starting in my sixties, but I desperately want to paint animals proficiently and with detail.. I have rescued and adopted my whole adult life. Cats or long-haired dogs are the most difficult things for me to paint. Your skills are perfection and I would love to keep learning from you.hope. I am so grateful for your videos and will watch them more now that I understand them better with a bit more experience.

WoW! I love this! I really appreciate how you keep the reference photo there most of the time (would be nice to have it there all the time) as well as having the finished view of each step showing, super helpful, thank you (most videos don’t do this which is frustrating and inhibits learning). How long it takes to complete this?

Is it need to brush the whole paper with water first before start? How if the paper dry too fast, especially in Malaysia's hot weather?

there is something about your camera I think that makes the colours look muddy/like you are stripping the paper when the paints are wet... so weird cos it looks fine, or course, when it dries

Rebecca, I did that dog eye, and I’m so proud of it. Looks almost exactly like the one you show in this video. My guess is you are happy with your pricing, and it’s working well for you. However, IF you ever decide to provide a monthly subscription, that would be something I’d be interested in. I just do not want to pay for an entire year knowing I might not always have the time to commit year around.

How long (in real time) did this take you! And thank you for showing us the many steps of going over and over the same areas. Sometimes I even forget watercolor is a translucent medium and I end up applying to heavy 😅

I get what you’re saying with the greyed short strokes on the dog but I’m doing my nieces dog and she has long hair so it’s not working. I have tried this 8 times!! 😢😢
