Why are some of the best Elbow songs b-sides? I can't explain myself why Elbow decided to put aside songs like this, Ticker Tape or Hotel Istanbul. Often the most audacious songs they created. I'm sure Guy Garvey thinks they don't fit in Elbow's discography, but except for a song like About Time, to me they deserve to be there... they just expand the sound palette of Elbow. Some of my favorite songs right now are Elbow's songs : Friend of Ours, Fast Boy Blue/Lunette, Scattered Black and Whites, Starlings... but most of their b-sides are just incredible.

Even more ghostly livre, damn insane, we art your brothers the swedes we just want a gentle intercourse, no ghost choire fucking us, just the Swede who could fly back. Our politicans tody couldn't even soat 1 ft. below the ground....

Great version. The first time I ever saw Elbow live was supporting U2 at Wembley Stadium on their 360 tour in 2009. Been listening to Elbow ever since, seen them 8 times now.

It's amazing what is out there we have no idea about. I was listening to KEXP and U2's was just finishing. DJ mentioned how just before it was "Elbow's version" and some story about Bono asking them to do the cover for a charity album. Had never heard of them. But with a name like Elbow and being asked by Bono, had to make a note. Come here. "Wow." 2009?

I really don't like this cover and it lacks emotion and feels flat, the U2 original is sublime and one of the best songs of the 80's.

Gotta get out of tv, just pick a point and go. Reminds me of Taxi Driver , he pushes it away teetering and it goes. To his annoyance and frustration a major impact on his mental health cutting off another connection with humanity, through rage which always has just one single culprit.
