Hi Bavers. I will try and do a follow up and talk about this over the next week or so. 👍 Long story short, I've been loving it. I gave my old iPad Pro to my brother and I've been using it. Most days, I use it when watching TV or watching a movie. It's such a relaxing way to browse. I'm typically watching CZcams videos and browsing in split screen. I use it for Netflix and Amazon prime too. I do still take notes when I get ideas as well, but from a productivity point of view, it's more researching ideas and sending emails etc. I agree with you about the oled screen. I didn't think it would make a massive difference to my enjoyment, but it's a joy to use 👍 Thanks. Kevin.

You're welcome. Yes that CPU would quickly become the bottleneck in most situations. It's something which many companies don't explain. I've seen many computers with basic CPUs and integrated graphics be marketed as gaming PCs, despite their obvious limitations.

Thanks David. I appreciate the feedback, particularly from yourself as you have so much experience in this area. Hope you managed to get some sleep 👍 As much as this video was about sharing my current setup and what I'm trying to do, I was keen to hear from others too. I've been watching a ton of reviews recently to narrow down my options, but I'm far from an expert on this subject and always willing to learn more. I agree that losing the Sony a6500 wouldn't take much away from my videos. it's a less flattering angle, but the main problem is lighting. It's always hard to keep lighting correct at that angle as the camera is close to the other cameras, so it's hard to get lighting right for front and side. Yes the front camera, which I called the webcam, is the Pansonic S5. I nearly always use it cropped at the top right. I think this may be the first video I've shown the full image. I use scenes for the sources and then import those scenes into other scenes. It makes it a lot more manageable. I try not to use OBS filters where possible and adjust camera settings instead. I have used them before though. I agree about the crop. There doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference in quality in a studio setting. Sony cameras aren't perfect and they hardly ever do firmware updates (whilst Panasonic do many), but I like the fact there's a large ecosystem of lenses available and I can use my full frame and APS C lenses on all Sony mirrorless cameras. What's your current setup? I know you've used a camcorder in the past and used the Sony A7 III at one point too (if I remember right). I was watching reviews last night of what I could buy next. For example, fx30, a7s iii, a7c III etc. Also has a look at the EV1 but everyone is saying that overheats. Thanks again for the feedback. Kevin

Hi cppctek. I had a look at one of your videos to check your setup. Canon market the R50 as an entry level camera, but it looks decent as it offers 4K 30p recording with no crop. The reviews I've read, such as www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-r50-review-compact-capable-but-lacking-for-lenses, look positive. Are you using the 50mm lens for fixed shots above and then changing to the zoom lens (kit lens) in other shots? Before looking at lenses, I would spend money on lighting. The first thing I noticed with your videos was that the video quality looked good, but it was poorly lit. If you added a few LED lights, you'd improve the quality of the footage drastically and avoid the image looking grainy.

I had to send the phone back to Samsung last year to repair the fold mechanism. I purchased a new iPhone and when the phone was repaired and returned, I opted to sell it as I was concerned the fold problem would arise again.

No, it would not. In nrtworking, latency is the time (in milliseconds) it takes for your PS5 to send data to the game's server and come back again with a response. In other words, a round trip which includes a send and a response. The way you measure this is using a ping test, which is why the terms latency and ping are frequently used interchangeably in networking. The term latency is also used when referencing the delay in connections. So in your example, when you connect a game capture card, there is an increase in latency between your PS5 and your computer and monitor. The reason being that the HDMI connection is now going through the capture card to the monitor instead of connecting to the monitor directly. With modern capture cards, the connection latency it introduces between your game console and monitor is somewhat negligible, but it still does exist. Connecting the dots from what you said, you had a bad internet connection. So I suspect it's a local networking or internet issue, not an issue with the capture card. Use ethernet to connect your PS5, if possible. If not, you'll have to improve your local network setup.

@KevinMuldoon honestly I've just started my streaming experience haven't gotten much yet, so just my PS5 is all I got and I tried streaming directly through that and instantly shit latency issues while I was streaming. I spoke to a friend and he recommended I get a capture card (EL GATO) and do it through that to my laptop that might resolve the issue.

@KevinMuldoon and my other friend recommended that I use an Ethernet cable directly to my PS5 so I'm sort of in the middle atm at what to do.

If it's out of warranty, you'd have to pay a repair shop to fix it.

@@KevinMuldoon After doing lots of searching I found old posts that say many old games or low budget games cant handle high Polling mice, so by lowering it it can fix the lag and stutter with some games.

I'm not sure. It's been so long since I've actively used it.

Hi Iceman. I'm not sure of how everything is set up. Is the headset MMX300 connected to the PS5 or the bridge cast?

The game capture card is designed to capture what is being passed through HDMI. You ideally want to connect a mic to the computer that is recording. The HD60 X supports recording game chat via the 3.5mm audio port too (using an accessory that can be purchased separately).

Hi Hans. Do you mean a Snapdragon for the windows laptop (like the new surface pros)? The Android tablet has a Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 but they went with an intel chip for Windows. Perhaps it was a cheaper route for them to go.

You're welcome. Glad you liked the video. I don't believe there is a way to add additional effects directly using the Bridge Cast. Though if you're running a clean mic signal from the bridge cast to software such as OBS to record, you could add effects there.

Great to hear from you again Lewis. Yeah it's hard to avoid all the political news (i usually try and avoid getting sucked in). The current situation in the UK is worrying. It's just sad what's happening here, the US, and in the middle East etc.

Apple would sell millions of them if they did, but they make too much from selling laptops and tablets separately. I'm sure Apple has the numbers on how many people with macbooks and iMac's, also have iPads. Lenovo doesn't have a large share of the tablet market do they can run with concepts like this. The ideal situation would be for these tablet laptop hybrids to become a success in the windows world so that it forced Apple's hand.

I'm not aware of the camera bring restricted to a particular console, but cannot find a specs page to confirm that.

This was something I was considering doing, but I just didn't have the time to do it. I work full time and have a young son, so I don't always have the time do the videos like that. I reset the old iPad Pro yesterday as I'm giving it to my brother. What types of games are you playing?

Forgot to say, yes it was the iPad pro from 2017 with the 10.5 inch screen. Few things I noticed right away. The bezels were smaller on the M4 edition and the display looked a lot better. It's just more vivid, clear and colourful. The display and general usage feels snappier and more responsive too. The cameras and speakers are better too, though I do think the speakers on the old version are still excellent.

Agreed. And I am exactly the person you are talking about. I was initially looking at the Xiaomi Pad tablets as they did everything I needed, but wanted more premium features such as the higher refresh rate, better camera etc. The premium Xiaomi tablet looked perfect, but was £600 at that time, which was a lot considering how quickly their used prices drop. All of a sudden, I was swaying between a used iPad Pro M2 and a new Samsung Tab S9. Then a week or so after release, I saw someone selling the iPad Pro M4 for £850 on eBay (which they bought for £999.99). I jumped at the chance of buying it. I'm delighted with my purchase and I'm using the tablet every day. Resale value in two years should still be around £600 so it will probably cost me £250 to £300 for two years of usage if I use it at that time. Still, it was a splurge and I would have still have been very happy with something cheaper.

Good to have you on board. I've had a bad experience with my iPhone getting marks on it from little contact, so I generally use screen protectors on most things now. I've found that some tempered glass screen protectors are quite thick and hurt the user experience.

If you can't repair or replace the HDMI port, using the component ports is a good alternative.

@@rz9426 No. Adding additional adapters doesn't help as you'd only be upscaling a bad signal. When I did these tests, I found some component cables performed much better than others. So the first step is always to get a good cable that connects from your console to the TV. You need to ensure that signal is good before using any further connections for recording.

Sorry to hear that. There's a lot of things that can flare it up, such as the weather, housing conditions, smoke etc. You just need to ensure you stay on top of it and keep it under control. 👍

And what is the difference between esr simple tempered glass vs esr armorite ?

It is a tempered glass screen protector, which is safe. They appear to sell many different variations, but I'm not sure of the exact differences.

A lot depends on your networking setup. You can theoretically get up to around 312MB/s with a 2.5G connection, but it will be less in practice. Is the Synology NAS connected directly to your Mac using the 2.5GB? Are you sure your mac is connecting to your NAS using the direct ethernet connection instead of your local network connection? (Synology have a tutorial about how to do this). Many cat 8 cables sold on Amazon aren't what they promise. Even if you get a legit cat 8, any cable that is cat 5e or better will do the job as you aren't breaking 10G.

I was scared to do that as I read some people saying it could make it worse ( though others said it did help).

That's good to know. Just wish they could be easily repaired. My old official stylus for the surface pro 6 takes a AAAA battery and it lasts for a year or two. Just a few bucks to replace the battery. Feels like a big step backwards when not even Applr can repair it.

It's expensive but it's a great addition to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air.

I downloaded several note and drawing applications, uninstalled some and kept the rest. I've found myself using notes more. It's really simplistic compared to other apps, but it does everything I need at this time.

The compatibility page at support.microsoft.com/en-gb/surface/identify-your-surface-dock-and-features-591c07f4-2784-24cf-6445-6fa059237461 does say that it works with the surface book 2, but I’ve not tested that myself. I no longer own the surface dock so it’s not something I can check.

@@KevinMuldoon from what ive read it doesnt supply enough power to charge both of the batteries. it says its compatible so my guess would be that the ports will all work with the book 2 but there will be battery drain even when connected as it doesnt provide enough power. Ill try to test that at some point
