Often overshadowed by it's better looking, big brother the Roland Jupiter 8, the Jupiter 6 gives a lot of 'sound for pound' at today's prices for the two. Recorded about 15 years ago after acquiring an Elka Synthex, used in this track for the thick underlying pads in the first part. great about sr jv expansion is you can swap them. if 4 slots in jv 1080 can be changed

I have 14 keyboards, some are from the 80s and some are brand new. I'm looking for a simple sound module to hook up to my living room digital piano (another keyboard would look too crowded). I want mostly rich, luscious pads & strings (and maybe some decent B3 organs). Is the ESI2000 my best bet? I'm also looking at the Proteus 2 Orchestra, Roland and Korg. Thanks!

Way outdated and time consuming compared to today's software samplers. But being an Ensoniq / E-mu user for years, nothing beats those old filters and DA converters. They sound so sonically beautiful. You REALLY feel those kicks and snares. The closest I can get nowadays in any computer is 16 bit 44.1k. These old monsters used to be able to crush down to 8 bit and give you some really nasty drums. Rza did this method religiously back in the day on the Eps 16+.

This music gives me such "Blade Runner" or Yamaha CS-80 vibes. I have a friend that collects vintage synths. He owns a CS-80, but I've been on him to get a Synthex also.
How much is sound design in the ESI and how much of the evolving character comes with the sampled raw material it self?
They're free and all of the sound character is in the soundbanks.

Something I should have got into a long time ago, but chose the Dj route instead, it was either a Roland XP series, one of the cheapest to start or SoundLab DLP series...the cheapest and since my keyboard skills were rotten at school, I opted to Dj instead and got the Soundlab DLP1600 belt drives. Still had lots of fun learning though, but if only I had just bought a music theory book, I think I would have understood things a lot quicker, but got there eventually. Thanks for the video. 👍

Hello, my name is Thomas Lynch and I have an Emulator II+. I just lost all my 5.25" floppy disks library (about 200 disks) of Optical Media International Universe of Sounds from Vol 1, 2, & 3. Do you have any these 5.25" floppy's for sale? Or, do you know of anyone who does? Also, I see what looks like a hard drive installed in some EMU II's. What's up with that? Can I install a hard drive already loaded with a library in my EMU II+. If so, then do you know where or how I can purchase one? Thank you in advance for your efforts.

I have an ESI 2000 Turbo with 128 MB of RAM I installed a Zulu SCSI emulator recently and started converting all my CDs to images for SD cards.
