That but also its a 06-07 STI which has a 41:59 power split ratio, the STI's prior had 35:65 and oversteered more not understeered. In japan all STIs until 2008 had the 35:65 power split so more RWD bias. The STI in the video is US market unfortunatly..JDM market is far better. if they needed to use a US market STI it should have been 2005 but either way it has the inferior EJ257 and not the JDM market EJ207.

@ 1:22, did anyone else see the throttle cutting out, the driver had the pedal to the floor and the car stopped accelerating, I know that The STI is drive by wire, but i have never seen that happen, does anyone know what happened?

500-700 hp is a perfect track car, 700-900 hp is a good drift car and 1k+ is good for drag racing.
If you want the perfect track car you gotta have balance of everything. The Mines R34 GTR is a good example of that.
I would still perfer that toyota celica hill climb car that beat the escudos, it had perfect power to weight.

The Super Cars were equipped with summer tires. The NSX-R, CSL and GT3 were equipped with high grip summer tires, with the CSL bordering on track tires. Google any of the tires and take a look at their tread, it's pretty obvious why the lower horsepower cars kept up. what do gear ratios have to do with understeer
Gear ratios affect speed, if a certain corner is best for certain gear, then a gear that is too fast may mean too fast corner speed on entry. If you switch one gear lower, you may be nearing the top range of the RPM band on corner exit too soon. These are manual transmission cars, and shifting to the next gear also costs time. Torque on mid range RPM is ideal on when you're mid-corner. It can be frustrating to tackle corners when the gear ratios don't match a corner's speed. This is my best understanding... I am not a pro by any means.

kurosawa is a strong oak jajajaj amazing driver with NSX
The nsx is a supercar because of its special abilitys, everything about it urges you to push harder literally everything the cars just over 1200kg extraordinary considering the other average car weights over 1500kg thats a huge difference in lightness and can only come about due to better materials throughout the whole car couple that with one of the best gearboxes ever seen on any car ever then the midship layout and the field of view and finally the engine.. VTEC smh all added up gives incredible amount of flexibility no other car there has that level of talent and all have to make up for it with either power or some computer added wizardry that really does says alot, great race regardless
True that Gan san just want to win & sometimes he drives as if he is the only one on track (hattori have felt tat a couple of times too in other videos, he complains few times)... HOWEVER, u gotta admit his skill is damn good... remember too that 1. he has a lot of experiences with the nsxr, so he KNOWS HOW FAR he can push e nsxr (e.g. check out his braking overtakes, no overruns). The other drivers are customed to driving RHD plus they have little experience with each car they driving. 2. he is from racing background, so he should have the winning mentality...at all cost but of cos being done legally 3.he is old, how much time/ chances left he can keep pushing like this. Would rather he push it and no regrets. Doridori also displays point 1,2 & 3 but not to the extreme like gansan in pt2.

Wouldn't make much difference. Kazama is also a pro driver. We all know Tsuchiya can do wonders in a car but that STi just isn't set up well at all. The Mine's R34 is the best street/track R34 GTR tuned by a legend. It would win this battle regardless. Especially the way it did in that situation.
