THE AUTOBAHN HERO - 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe - Review
Porsche's flagship SUV, the Porsche Cayenne was just refreshed and has gained some major upgrades for then next model years! Here in its sportback form as the 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe, this German Autobahn hero might "only" have the base turbo V6 producing 348 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, but $40,000.00 CAD in options make this midsize SUV a proper luxury barge!
But, when clocking in at $128,595.00 USD / $139,800.00 CAD here in Canada, the competition is tough. From other German midsize SUVs such as the Mercedes GLE and BMW X5, to more exotic options such as the Maserati Levante and even the iconic Cadillac Escalade: the Porsche won't have it easy to prove itself worthy of our hard-earned cash. Will the Cayenne Coupe have to fight out it out in this crowded segment, or does Porsche rise above the rest? Find out in today's review!

Welcome to the channel Porsche! 🇩🇪 Which Porsche model would you like to see us review next? 👀
That fast one😂
@@rong8889Noted 😂
Borh cars are great, no doubt. However, price is not a factor, as someone mentioned in the comments. If you've been looking to purchase, you already know that you can get the Type S for MSRP or less, while the Type R is still selling at over MSRP (lucky you if you can get one at MSRP). If you want the burbles like the Type S in the Type R, you don't have to buy a $2000 exhaust; instead buy a Hondata Flaspro and unlock the ECU. You can add the burbles like the Type S or you have two more options for more aggressive burbles. You'll also get more power and can eliminate rev hang (both cars have serious rev hang) amongst other features that you cam enable. Lastly, the seats are way better in the Type R and it is made in Japan, which may be why the fit/finish is slightly better. Again, both are great and you would be happy with either.
5'7" and 140 lb is far from being on the limit for the CTR seats. That's absurd. I'm 6'1" and 210 lb with shoulders and absolutely love the FL5 seats, as do all of my larger friends. For a sport seat, Honda did a brilliant job of shaping them to fit a wide range of humans. The Mk3 Focus RS seats and Porsche carbon buckets are what I would consider on the tight side, for some context.
This is the 2023!? 😮
I love the Tye R. Better handling and lighter car for track performance.
Red seatbelts in Honda are horrible. Way too much red.
99% of Torontonians dont like to move their heads to shoulder check so the "Toronto Lane Change" (TLC❤) is no shoulder check but do it really damn' slowly. Like 3 or 4 city blocks with tires in 2 lanes. That's real safe
How do you use the launch control
Btw, type r has more head room for a helmet. S for daily r for track
I'm a old fart, I would take the type s. 10 years ago I would take the R. I will stick to my FA5 thou.
I would rather have a boosted 8th gen si.
How is the second gear worn out already on a new car like that?
Because they can’t shift forShyt
@@noirrain6005 ya most likely
At 1st when both cars came out I really loved the fl5. Because I love discretion more the only mod I'd do to the fl5 is the suspension mod to make it more softer because I'm not a track person and somehow find a way of getting a rear wing delete. That was then... Now the Integra Type S has really grown on me and I'm really loving it. Only 2 things I wished the car had was a lower load height for the trunk/boot and a sunroof. Other that that the type s is one bad ass car for me now
The cheap leather on the interior is what kills the Type S for me. Acura should have upped the price a little to 60-65K and made a 400hp AWD or RWD Integra Type R coupe with a premium interior.
Turbo lag, crappy interior, $50K+ price tag. I was ready to buy one when it first made its debut (I have a 2019), but I think I'll have to check out some other options. Hard plastic at that price point???? WTF??
R >>> S. End of discussion.
I couldn’t disagree more about the seats. 5’7, 140 is on the limit? I’m 6’, around 180 and have ZERO issues with the seat. I don’t understand how people complain about getting in and out.
I said the same thing.
Because he’s a midget. His legs can’t reach the floor. I found the limit to be 6”00 180-190 pounds.
Agreed.
I’m 6’4” and 200 pounds and I have zero issues.
If youre traffic, get the S, if ypure an enthisiast, get the R.
I traded in my CW FL5 for an Integra Type S partly because of a problem that's also evident in this video: The hatch of the Champ White Type R is unacceptably more yellow in colour than the rest of the rear. Really preferring my Type S as a daily street car, with the added benefit of its exhaust personality. The Type R's seats and +R gauge would give it the advantage on the track though. For those who are older and/or don't live on a racetrack, the Type S is likely the better car.
The bumpers and hatch are of a slightly different color because they are not made of metal. All colors you can notice difference. Maybe only the black , you don’t. Plastics have a different color adherence than metal. That’s why
@@noirrain6005 Yup I understand why the problem is exacerbated by the different materials/surfaces. Still bothers me to look at that much of a difference between the hatch and adjacent panels.
The Type R is for the younger crowd ... kinda riced out with that big a$$ wing. The Type S is just more sophisticated, mature, and sexy! You pull up in the Honda and they just think its a souped up Civic 🤷🏿♂️ but when i pull up with the "Ack" it turns everyone heads and most importantly the ladies 🤣🤙🏿💪🏿🤷🏿♂️ not only that.... its just better all the way around! I love my Teggy
lol I’ve seen a lot of young people getting the type s as well. What’s your point
Ack? Teggy? Most importantly the ladies? Hahahaha you sound like you’re 13
@@hqrueck And you sound like a hater hahaha
@kobi2002 My "Point" is exactly what I wrote in my post, also.. most young people do not have money like that to buy a car am I right? So the CTR would be a better option as compared to the DE5 which is even more expensive especially during this inflationary economy we are in... Is that a better point for you Lil fella? Lol
@@kobi2002 which one of these cars do you have?
😂 r type rule come to a track... I'll be at 70 get on highway you going 45 trying to turn ... and the got bose speakers!!
What?
I think you must’ve been totally drunk typing that out because that doesn’t make any sense but you do have bose speakers
Civic drivers are the worst. Probably from Brampton
The fl5 is not a hot hatch anymore, it is much bigger than previous type of models.
Yet still weighs <3200 lb.
JEEEEEZZZ I NEED ONE!!!
Those are not hatchbacks...
Liftbacks are considered hatchbacks, as the cargo storage is part of the interior cabin and not a separate trunk.
I like your approach. it is even not nitpicky enough. Cars seems nowadays to be designed in an office, by managers that look at marketing and cost sheets. They seem to drive their designs only rarely and only in ideal circumstances. Some examples. The XC40 garbage can is mentionned as a big invention - marketing tool - in all Volvo docs and reviews. But seldom it is mentionned that consequently the central arm rest is way too short. You did not notice it in your review maybe because the seats were in the full back position to have a better camera view, or you did not drive long enough to have the need to rest your arm? Before my new XC40 with Google navigation, I owned an XC60 with the previous software. The Google navigation is a great progress, but also some essentials disappeard. Like adjustment of the brightness of the screen displays by a handy turnbutton. The button has disappeared and now you have to tap, slide, tap, slide agian... Did nobody at Volvo drive the car at night, with sudden changing light intensities like going through a tunnel? This is not nitpicking, but essential safety. Is safety no longer a Volvo priority, like omitting an head-up display? (In the new EX30 there is even no longer a driver display...). When the navigation screen is on, nowhere is indicated what media or radio station is playing. You want to know: slide, tap slide... Want to know the time? Look sharply at the upper right corner of the central screen for the very small figures, here also looking away from the road. With the previous software it was in large characters and also on the driver display just in front of you. There is more annoyances that one only realises after some days or weeks of use. It will most probably not lead to customers returning their car because of this, but with the nickpicking, maybe the designers and marketing managers will be more open to user experience before their customers stay away. So please persevere!
Civic any day
King of the hot hatch is the Kona N
I'd argue that the Kona is in a different class as it's an SUV - it's also unfortunately out of production. We do love the Elantra N a lot though!
Stupid question man.
It ain't a tight car if it ain't Type R! I chose the FL5 but the Type S is very nice!
Never heard that one before! Haha
HONDA only manufactures one Type R at a time. Which is why the ITS is not a type R
Both are awesome and great for someone cross shopping. However, most reviewers compare vehicles to get likes to make money and not give unbiased reviews. Honda is an international manufacturer and some products are only for North America like Ridgeline, pilot, passport, ODYSSEY, Accord, and of course Acura products. America labour cost make American made Honda products very expensive with less quality in some areas. Type R is Japanese made for Asian and European countries and Australia and so follow international standards for sounds and emissions. Type S Integra is Made for America by Americans and so less restrictions but very expensive. Another thing reviewers fail to mention is Acura is a premium Honda meaning more than but not a luxury brand often compared to like Mercedes or BMW just like those are not compared to Bentley or rolls Royce.
Well, glad you found reviewers that don't do any of the bad things you mentioned :)
Also the ITS has a superior audio system.
Savagegeese says otherwise
@@warwid5419 He’s the only one that’s said that. I had the FL5, and the ELS system in the ITS is much better than the Bose.
@@williamk1800 I just tried out a Supra for 2 days (JBL sound system in it) and still prefer my Bose type R system
Integra for me. 🙂🙂🙂
I went with the CW Type R. Looked at both beforehand but the CTR is the one to get. ITS has more premium materials, great sound system, better exhaust, and great styling. However, the FL5 just feels more special. The seats are far better and add to the experience, I actually like the stiffer suspension and log R data, and the interior and exterior styling is more timeless and appealing. Adding the heritage color and more track focused feel and it was the clear choice to me. Much more of a unicorn to find too. It took a year to get a dealership to agree to a CW CTR with no markup, but my local dealers have many ITS at the higher MSRP. Type R will likely hold value better as well. In the end they are both a pair of awesome twins and anyone would be lucky to have either.
Good point on the CTR having more prestige and likely holding its value better in the future. Very surprised you were able to get one at MSRP, but it sounds like you had to work for that, ha!
I drove both I prefer the type R…….The only change I will make the exhaust
That'll definitely help give it more character!
Honda definitely screwed up the Type R Exhaust lol. Screwed up as in added an exhaust that didn't make any sound.
Definitely took away from the experience 😫
They should've made a different exhaust for North America, or at the very least offer it as a paid option.
The only reason you don't get a type S is you can't afford a type S.
Haa that's pretty funny!
No, depends weather or not you plan on tracking it or not. If you want a daily buy the Type S; if you plan on tracking it buy the Type R. They have different use cases. Money is the not the reason
Civic any day 😂
Sometimes it brand. I mean globally Acura brand might not be as well known. I feel when I hear a civic type r sound a lot better then integra type s. Maybe if was integra type r would be different.
You must not know all Type R have a 5-10k mark up making them the same price. You just showed you know nothing congratulations 😂
Type s Better dealership experience as a customer
I've had my fl5 a year now comfort mode is fine but I did go up a tire size from 30 to 35 that helped alot the electronic engine sound does not bother me none what so ever it actually helps the car is way too quiet without it to me the fl5's natural width looks cleaner and smoother than the TYPE-S not saying the integra looks bad but more like an after thought with the fender flares that being said I think the FL5 will age alot better and will be easier on the eye after the newness wares off both cars are worth getting I chose the one that was available because trying to find one to buy at a decent price will turn into a Easter egg hunt good luck lol
MSRP difference after tax on is closer to $10,000 The exhaust, damper module and heads up display are the only things about the type S that I like better. If Acura didn't bolt on the wide body effects and had a better front end design, I might be swayed over to the type S (if they both cost the same).
I paid 50k plus tax title DMV for the type S, good luck getting an FL5 3k under MSRP
@@davelospinoso9022 I have a photo of a type S window sticker, total price at $53,595 My type R window sticker was $45,890 (in black)... so no up-charge). Add the extra sales tax to the Type S higher price and we're at 9K and change between the cars. Totally not worth it.
@@davelospinoso9022 * edit * So I re-read your response. You got a great deal! I was speaking of list price car for car. Possibly Acura dealers are more willing to sell for under MSRP which is great for the buyer. Honda of course is selling for over MSRP in many places, but luckily I got mine for MSRP. Enjoy your car, they are all engineered to be amazing vehicles!
Both way overpriced.
You still doing it over a year now, that's all you have to say in each video of any type R ever on the net....please for the love of humanity get over it....please I have said before enjoy your Hyundai and stop trolling on these honda reviews.
@@van_der_lindeDA I don't own a Hyundai what are you talking about?
The Integra is underpriced for what you get.
I just picked up a type S
What's the tire and road noise like in the Integra? Oh ya rev hang?
No noticable rev hang in either. As for road and tire noise, it's very similiar in both cars with the Integra being slightly quieter than the Civic.
@@GCCarsCA So there is considerable road noise if they tried to make the Integra quieter, My daughter had a TSX and I hated that car. It was such a hollow sounding tin can.
I picked the FL5 for the seat, styling, heritage name, red interior, championship white paint, and exterior styling. I saw my first ITS on the road and mistaken the front as a TLX until i saw the rear, I'm personally not a fan
The Type-R definitely has the "coolness" factor over the Integra. People look at the Civic.
This all the way. The Integra Type S just doesn't work for me. The styling, Acura brand, and price tag are simply not for me.
Was considering this cx 30 or the buick envista love both of their styles and premium feel
I have the integra type s and 🥰
Looks like a baby Aviator. Too bad it isn't rwd biased. Lincoln missed a great opportunity to have the 2.7 with rwd biased sport performance midsized luxury SUV. Instead they ditched the supurb 2.7 V6 in favor for the Ford corporate 2.0 four cylinder. Non the less this Nautilus is a fantastic SUV especially with the 2.7 V6 and AWD. I have the Aviator, MKZ and MKC. All have been great vehicles thus far. Ford offers more bang for your dollar verses GM and Chrysler. They however slighly lag behind the European, Korean and Japanese luxury brands. Definitely getting better with time ✌🏽🇺🇲
The car that isn't a liftback or sportback sedan.
Not quite sure what you mean. Both of these are technically hatchbacks (although I find liftback more accurate).
@GCCarsCA The integra basically takes the SI sedan and gives it a liftback while the Civic continues to use the hatchback variant for the type r. Both the Civic Sedan(184) and Integra(186) are longer than the type r(181). Styling just makes both cars look similar.
Ah I see what you mean. Thanks for clarifying :)
@@ii_dynasty really grasping at straws here. Both cars have nearly the same shape.
Type s is a water down type r
