Hi! I'm a carillonist, which means I play big tower bells. I like to play film scores and pop songs, alongside classical and contemporary music, and my own compositions.
I'm currently switching gears to dive more into the acoustics, music theory, instrument techniques and design, so I'm decreasing my upload frequency for now. New videos up at 8am Eastern every other Saturday.

Man i wish i could hear it live :/
"man this book is goo- is that fantasia?"
Idk why but the song kinda sounds like an evil person’s theme song
That last part was a treat
"1983 Metallica would like to know your location"
Exquisite performance! Bells are the best instrument
Cool Video. I like the juxtaposition of piano vs bells.
You are so skilled your amazing😊
Absolutely amazing!
This is such a cool instrument that I never knew before.. very cool 👍
Hello good morning
Ok guys I’m back
The last tower showed in the vid is Bok Tower in Florida. Its one of the most stunningly beautiful buildings I've ever seen in person.
I am sad that Carol of the bells is not octotonic / written for bells
no, but the 3 note theme still fits in an octatonic scale ;-)
Request: Ian & Sophie - We Can Always Be With You - towel bells
Whoa that sounds so cool. What would tocatta and fugue arranged for bells sound like?
The overtones make this sound so sad 😂
‘According to how many times the bells have chimed it must be 1628583AM’ (everyone in that town)
Literally everything he said was Greek to me...
👍
I hate church bells. a nowaday minority community annoys thousands of people in their radius on Sundays at 8am because they're meeting with their little cult. any other producer of noise on that level would be fined, but for churches it's ok because they always annoyed people like that.
Interesting - but confusing! i am aware of the overtone series, and am able to recreate it on a single string on my guitar (you can literally play the whole ´open E chord´ on the E string alone, using overtones´, or flageolets as the are called in playing technique terms.) BUT i can´t figure out how the bells´ minor third fits in - it doesn´t fit in the Pythagorean system of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3... that you mention? Not even if we include the ´hum´ tone? Can someone please explain the physics?
So genuine question do you recording the bell parts line up to when bells are actually meant to be played or is everyone just like well Joey is makin another CZcams video?
loud ahh video
bro actually looks and sounds like a disney character
Amazing!
man i really think Aria math from minecraft should be awesome on bells
gratulations for jour beautifull play ! greatings from südtirol / italy, Ivo Radakovich
Great Video ! Thank you for sharing. It looks like the camera that records your feet on the pedals might be a little further back than on previous videos. 😊 Wishing you safe travels and success on your upcoming tour. Hopefully you will record some of it.

This is so cool!!!! My girlfriend wants to know if you could do the Star Trek Voyager theme on the bells?
So cool!
Thanks for the quality sound! Are there any plans to perform some of Strauss's waltzes?
💗 Lovely!
Beautiful arrangement! I’m sure this has been asked plenty of times before, but how do you practice pieces without alerting the whole area? Is there a way to disengage the bells when you’re practicing, and then you engage them when it’s time to perform?
I actually just published a video on this :-) czcams.com/video/vhYhDwgzb3U/video.html
Це щось шедевральне!!!❤❤❤. Дякуємо !! Обіймаємо - Україна.

after watching all that i unfortunately came to the conclusion that i actually just like the unique eeriness given by these bells playing what sounds like a wholesome recognizable tune or motif to tell the time. like thats almost what gives them their identity to me, the "unmaintained" sounding overtones playing purely major licks.

I came here from Joey's video about playing songs that sound in tune on bells, and I must say, the overtones in the bells lend themselves to this song wonderfully
Oh shit hi Nelli
@@putridvibes9332 Hi Putrid :)
That is quite a high-pressure job! He plays music, and everyone in the district will hear it. I wonder if this bell instrument is so unique, yhat it requires a special technique to match the bell sound delay or something. If so, imagine the only way to practice is with something as massive and grand as this 😂
“What is the church bell cooking?”
Sounds like something generated by TempleOS
And another great video! I absolutely adore the octatonic scale. A few places in Chopin's Ballades come to mind where he uses them to great effect. Or Lili Boulanger's stunning D’un Soir Triste.
That was so insightful, thank you very much! Since I watched this, I always catch myself singing the minor third to any bell I hear..😀
I always wondered what that tower was when I drove past it. Cant belive I just stumbled upon this
After watching this for some reason I had the cursed impossibly hard challenge for someone to play rush E on that bell tower
Can't describe how haunting this would be to people outside who aren't in the know
Organs can be played in isolation? The priests in my parish, where their living spaces are connected to the church, would disagree. I mean, they never complain, but I know they hear it. xD
