I was my mother's caregiver for a few years. I understand your loss. I held her cam when she passed. Had to make the extremely hard decision that I didn't want to make. I miss her daily. He'll be 5 years this year. Hold on to the good times. Honor him anyway you feel necessary. I planted a tree and my mother's other one. I took time to pick out exactly what I wanted to honor her. I picked a Korean dwarf lilac tree. It's beautiful just like my mother. It may just be a tree everyone else to it shows her beauty

Dont forget to be super patient and loving with his buddy. He is mourning too. he doesn't understand why his best friend in the whole world was taking away from him

Its been 23 years for my dad. And 5 for my momma. You never quite get over it. Its always there just under the surface. I look and see people the age they would be now and catch my breath. Keep doing those things you enjoyed together.

Lost my dad at 17 yrs of age, I loved my father taken too soon for my young heart to endure:( He did not see me graduate, he was a teacher, he did not walk me down the aisle but my brother did in his place but I wanted him there not anyone else well I am 63 yrs of age now and it still breaks me in moments like this:( God bless honey I made it through and so will you but it is a huge loss;(

Sorry babygirl it would kill me to clean out my dad's cause it's final.

Mine died end of April. I was just looking at him as he exhaled and realized he was gone. I needed something to do so I started cleaning the park nd picking up trash. The park looks great now!!!!! I call it “a bag a day”, each day I pick up 1 bags worth of trash at least Service to benefit someone else made me feel good. Dad was a public servant all his life… mayor, city commissioner, juvenile counselor. I got a thank you from a young mom walking with her baby! Please TELL your loved ones that you love them. They will be gone before you know it.

Are you sure you born without the gland or just born without a functioning thyroid gland. But at least the synthetic thyroid is not expensive - my thyroid is there but never developed properly which meant also meant that my inner ear didn’t develop in uteri so I have a significant hearing loss. - the newborn screen didn’t start until the 1980s. If you were born without a functioning thyroid in the 70‘s it would take a while for blood work to be done, but if you are luck at birth the dr would have noticed you had a trademark higher pitch cat cry. The hearing loss and lack of thyroid are combined. We are a rare breed.

The grief never goes away. It is always there inside. Videos as such trigger that grief.

I’m so sorry for your loss and I will keep you and yours in my prayers. I lost my dad 4 years ago. He was my best friend and the only man/ person I’d ever trusted. It’s hard but it gets better. I hold dear to our memories and thank God that I had such an amazing father that showed me real unconditional love and knowing that I will see him again is do comforting.

Nothing in life prepares us when we lose our Parents. You now have a Guardian Angel watching over you who's proud of You. I understand your loss.
