FENDER ACOUSTASONIC guitars... the PROS, the CONS, the price tag...
#fender #acoustasonic #guitar
I'm a lucky SOB and the fine folks at FENDER NASHVILLE gifted me an ACOUSTASONIC TELECASTER...
The real question remains, do the PROS outweigh the CONS for the asking price...
After messing around with it for a couple months, I think I have discovered the ultimate use of the Acoustasonic series, and it's worth its price tag, at least in THIS REGARD:
It's the best damn acoustic simulation ever made, and its LITERALLY SO EASY to record...

5 (of my favorite) *TOTALLY USABLE* Eventide H9 settings!

#eventide #guitar #pedalboard The Eventide H9 has been around for several years now, and it sometimes gets a bad rap for having a complicated interface. While the idea of a "one trick pony", a do-it-all swiss-army-knife pedal, has some serious limitations to finding the best versions of each stand alone effect, I believe the H9 has a seriously diverse set of wicked sounds. Here of 5 SUBTLE and ...

Great story, great analysis on that, great playing. Thanks for sharing this man.
I don't understand why anyone would be surprised. Unlike like the vast majority of modelled devices, it only has to nail the sound of one thing- a classic low-gain Fender circuit, trem and reverb. It would be more shocking to me if it wasn't a good pedal platform!
What song was "Live Audio Example" at 8:09?
What a great story, with deeper insights than the simple answer I was originally searching for - the same one you were. Thank you for this! ☮☯
Nice playing! How is the amp holding up. I'm getting one. I'm going to hook it up to my Boss gt100. Pedalboard in a box. I miss a real amp. The amp emulations are OK, but....I'm almost 60 and have had tube amps and pedals my whole life. Wanted to simplify, because of all the weight. What are your thoughts. Thanks!
Hi @tonisalic6300, that's what I'm planning to do. Did you get the TMTR and play it through the Boss GT100? I would be most interested in your experience (a bit older old bloke at 67).
@xygius1 it appears we are in the same boat. I got two knee replacements. The amp is on its way, finally! Apperently, my wife thought a new fridge was more important 😂. I will write you on the same link, when I try it out.
@@tonisalic6300 I hope your knees heal fast. Yes, women always have their priorities out of order lol. Great let me know how the amp goes 😃 I got a Fender Tone Master Pro today with a Tone Master FR12 cab to go with it - looking forward to taking it for a spin.
I have this amp and approve! I’d like to get the Princeton TM next…
Great video, great story, great point. Thanks for this one. Some comments below: Robben story: I was in one of the first GIT classes and got to spend some time learning from Robben, along with a number of other amazing musicians. At the time, 1978, Robben was endorsed by Yamaha, who had come out with some solid state amps and their version of a Gibson 335. I remember seeing him play a gig with his Gibson and whatever tube amp he was using at the time, then a few days later, seeing him at another gig playing the Yamaha versions of the guitar and amp. His tone? Fantastic both times. I remember thinking that I couldn't tell the difference. Of course it wasn't an A/B comparison, but as a "critical listener" audience member it was eye opening. Similar, but different: I've spent most of my life also involved in the whitewater world, often in a professional capacity. I see the same thing there: all of us pretty good kayakers can't wait to get the latest new boat because it will somehow take us to the next level. Funny thing is, the next level athletes perform at the next level no matter what they're paddling. Of course a good boat makes it easier, but in the end it really isn't the boat. My favorite cartoon that says it all: Wish I had a copy but I'll just have to describe it. There's an old fashioned walk up box office with two ticket windows. One of them has a sign above that reads "New Pedals". There are about 50 people in line. The other one says "Guitar Lessons". There are three people in line. All that said, I still love gear and find myself having to cull the herd way more often that I should. As a full time working guitarist these days, you'd think I would know better. Call me a happy hypocrite! Life is fun when you take your craft seriously but can still laugh at your "sapien-ness". Cheers, and thanks again for the great videos!
HELL YES
Just bought the TM Blonde Deluxe Reverb. Starting to dial in my pedals: Wampler Ego Compressor-Wampler TUMNUS-MXR Duke of Tone-Dunlop MINI XP4 volume pedal-Fultone SupraTrem-Wampler Ethereal (Delay and Reverb). I really appreciated you sharing your tone journey and very clear demos and descriptions of effects. Well paced and well recorded. I’m excited . Thank you ! 😎

New subscriber here , would you mind sharing the setting for the sound of the h910 you used with your band ??
Itz mosdef one the coolest pedal out there, ,dude. 😀
A perfectly miked up vintage fender, twin reverb isn’t going to sound like a perfectly miked up vintage fender, twin reverb anyways. I’ve never found two tube amps that sound exactly the same even if they’re the same model.
thanks, this is really helpful, just upgraded to H9 Max and I love it, but there is a lot to dive into. All these sounds are great!
Can you mix more the one effect?
FANTASTIC
Happy 2024!! I find this helpful.. Thanks
I did not know the H9 has a Univibe is it an update
Hi Jay, do you know how to get the backing track ? It´s so great - Thanks from Germany - Marko
Its so cool seeing the earth drive on someone elses board
Love mine. It's my clean solo boost, post a mild dirt pedal. Just give a bit more sustain and cut while not being Tubescreamer-humpy.
Yuval Harari is the absolute best. And as for the pedals, just keep both on your board and use them as different tools!
I'm glad I stumbled onto your video. I'm 69 years old, played guitars as a hobby since I was 13 and have been on the never ending tone quest ever since. Just one more guitar or amp or pedal. I wasted lots of time when I should just focus and enjoy playing what I have. BTW, I have a Zendrive, A Klon and a tube screamer so I think I WILL BE THANKFUL AND GO PLAY! LOL! Peace!!
gear quest is a disease!
That I currently have 😂😂😂
Congrats man. Heavenly rig. Nice playing, sounds great. Looking at a deluxe tonemaster myself. Enjoy!
Robben's got endorsement deals 😝 so he probably didn't want to jump out there , plus he's playing $50,000 to $100,000 dollar Dumble amps 😳or some custom built/tweaked boutique amps and he doesn't want to tell you that a $150 dollar pedal will never get his tone 😜.. in addition Some musicians try to be too deep.. He's reading a book that's supposed to help him understand how GOD created the universe 😂 good luck with that... cuz the author of the book doesn't even know ... smh
The DUDE has a bit more treble than the Zen drive.. The Zen sounds warmer ! BTW "Warm Audio" has their version of the "D" style pedal that's real good ! The best YT demo of a "Dumble" in a box that I've heard was the "Van Weelden Royal Overdrive" ! Don't know what they sound like in person but sounded crazy on one CZcams demo.. - I have personal experience with the "Custom Tones Ethos" overdrive pedal... It's by far my favorite drive pedal ! It sounds good with any amp.. Don't know if the "Van Weelden" sounds good with affordable amps but the demo of the thing was outrageous .. think they used a "Two Rock" or some nice boutique amp for that demo ! Don't always trust demos done with amps that'll make anything sound good !
The main thing I love about these amps is you don’t get the ice pick and background noise of a conventional tube fender. It does enough of a convincing job without all the added mess. That and you save your back. :)
Came across this video by chance , I must say it’s the best tone master video I’ve seen , sounds great and nice playing .
Awesome 👍
The dude!!
phenomenal sounds - brilliant played Dude !! Killer background track also - do you have a link for the track?
No FX loop for my delays!
Great job Jay. Brilliant cover.
Props for referencing the uncanny valley and the Turing Test.
Thanks man!
That was such a well done video.👍
I prefer the MXR Shin Juku over both
That entire rig. Id settle for and never want for anything more other than keeping it up. I have a black Strat MIM Gilmour FSR. It is awesome but coming from CV and Fusion T i also use i notice the fender medium jumbo frets are a bit low in comparison to the medium Tall on CV squier which i prefer. I feel a bit too much fret board for my taste but i love the guitar and it is my best one. Excellent.
Subbed. Loving your tone. I have the Blonde Deluxe and an American Pro II Strat. Been looking to grab a few pedals. Drive recommendations? Archer?
Def a mid hump like archer/ts/zen, also something “transparent” like Timmy or lovepedal amp 11 or light speed - combine for magic :-)
Dumbest thing ever. Bunch of bull crap and a click bate.
Sounded great. My Blonde Deluxe should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the confirmation.
Can I ask you if you are you still as much in love with the amp today? IOW is the honeymoon phase over? I see that the video was a couple yrs ago. Seriously considering. Thank you.
I have a tone master super reverb now. It’s great. The twin is great. The only thing that I wish was better was the slight high end weirdness with the digital quality of the amp. It’s the AD DA. If you’re an infinite tweaker you may want to stick to tubes. If you don’t care, this is a perfect working man’s amp
@@JayRutherford1 I’m a major tweaker. If an amp doesn’t feel right to me I move on. I was gonna ask how ge based pedals like fuzz face and old style distortion circuits sound, but with the high end weirdness I’d imagine too fizzy.
@@imanalien2222 the super sounds the best of the three, but there’s just something about glass that really makes gain chewy and feel the best
@@JayRutherford1 yeah I’m not quite ready to make the change to digital/SS… tho I’m dealing with gas over the Milkman Amp 50. Runs at high voltage and used a 12ax7 at the input so it feels right. Haven’t tried it yet tho. Could fit the bill for my mid-sized amp needs.
@@imanalien2222 also owned that. Also really great! Feels def more squishy than the TM series. Recommended. But both sound great
Fender should send you a check! Nice tone brother. (~);}
Which Tonemaster do you prefer,I am mostly home player?
You can get a way with either in a home setting. I own both of the Blonde versions of these amps. Even the Twin can be dialed back enough to play it in a home. They both sound fantastic, especially with pedals, but the Twin is a little more open sounding, bigger in the room, if you will.
Wonderful video and conclusion
Would you say these amps would take a rat distortion well?
Nice playing man! Very Jerry-like vibe! You clearly enjoy the amp and that comes across from your anecdotes about your live gigs, and I like the way you also objectively present the arguments for using the TM too. I play in a couple of covers bands (electro-acoustic Americana/50's/country stuff - so a Boss ACL takes care of that) and a 60's/70's blues rock/pop band for which I use a 30W valve amp - it's getting too heavy to lug around with all the PA gear too, so I think you might have converted me. Was initially looking at the TM Blonde Deluxe but think the Twin would better suit the small live events/pubs we play. I do like to have enough headroom (and using pedals). These amps seem to be out of stock most places here in the UK, but will try and score one on Reverb or similar. Cheers!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Darn it, that first song reminds me of something give me a minute 😂
VERY NICE!
Excellent video man. Thanks for sharing your story!
what was the eq on the amp? treb and mids and bass?
If it looks like a fender, sounds like a Fender and quacks like a Fender ... Then, It is a Fender !!!
