Wow, I can't remember coming across the majority of these!
All are legal tender coins released by the Royal Australian mint but not necessarily intended for circulation. So most of these coins were sold by the mint for collectors and would not be found in your pocket change. You could however spend them for their face value if you wanted to legally quite legally, but since they cost more to purchase than the face value, it would be a little silly.
A quick search shows a 1937 Florin and a 37 shilling for sale though???
Look closely. Plenty of fake “filler Australian coins” for sale or you might be looking at non Australian shillings and Florins
@@kevcump62 Yep, I looked into what you'd said, then asked the seller straight out. He admitted nothing, but gave me an honest answer.
10 australija 1984 20 australija 1981
The Australian crowns are almost an avoirdupois ounce and are the exact dimensions of English crowns up to 1920. Patterns for Australian coins dated 1937 were struck but with the King George VI effigy. Most of them are uniface examples.
So that’s the United States of America ounce, right?
The missing SD is due to some foreign material getting caught in the dies used to make the working hubs(dies used to actually strike the coins). I have over 100 of them... actually, it's 117 of them. There's also the 2015 die clash 5c coin. I have 48 of those.
Speaking of new issue coins, there's a few things to remember. 1. Most commemorative sets are hyped up the collector market and the prices reflect that at the time. 2. A large portion of thise sets are earmarked for RAM on-seller dealers. 3. Ordering through Auspost is free delivery. 4. The market prices always come down eventually. 5. Issue price really is the best option sometimes but it's hit n miss when it comes to collector demand. That's where experience comes into the equation. 6. You'll have to compete with eBay sellers who use bots to buy on day of release. 7. You'll increase your chances of getting sets by signing up to the RAM website to receive their newsletter and special offers on upcoming releases. 8. Always consider buying the full sets over the singles. You'll get the limited edition coins.
I agree with everything you said here, Bruce. Sadly I was new to collecting not for circulation coins at the time. Wish I knew then what I know now. But don’t we all.
I got a full set of those, still sealed in the collectors tin. No, its not going up for sale anytime soon. Got the Ford sets too.
It's not a wavy it doesn't have finger lines diagonally across bottom of 2 find this one ❤
That is true. It is not a wavy and that was the point of the video. I see so many collectors online asking if a coin they have found is a wavy when clearly, it is not. I believe people can be so hopeful that they are willing to fool themselves into thinking they have one when they do not. The video was aimed at them in an attempt to avoid disappointment.
A must for any collection I'd say.
Always on the lookout for the 1988 COA 😅
Look hard. I think there is only two or three examples known to exist but that doesn’t mean there are not any more out there in the wild waiting for you!

Hello
The US is new to me. I knew some coins were minted in Canada, but it's the first I've heard of them being minted in the US. Can you give more detail?

where can I buy older 50 cent coins?
Try eBay or facebook but be careful to vet the history of sellers and research the value of the coin you are selling before you advertise it.
You do have a great collection of 50c coins along with what the coins represent a lot of history on how we treat each other and still do today 🙏 such a shame, the play school coins are different might look them up thanks for sharing cheers mate. 👍👊
Thanks, I was pleased to be able to finish off that year with something a bit lighter as all that war stuff was getting a bit sad.
i feel ya... i am not into new coins but as a collector i see this often.. ps i also see u get the bots and they mention bitcoin... i bet u dont like bitcoin, same as me, but i learnt its just math...not like government math...print print print... have a good1 mate
Yes that was weird when they all started talking about cryptocurrency as if my video had anything to do with it. My video was basically completely the opposite and yes you are right. I like things that you can hold in your hand and are by actually real. Anyway, it’s nice to know that there are real people out there. You have a nice day too .

While it's true there were no pennies struck for circulation dated 1937, coins dated 1937 were indeed struck. They were trial pieces and specimens. Only a few of each denomination were made.
True and I believe they are all accounted for and reside in official collections if my memory serves me. Do you know where?
👍🇧🇷
Something else collectors should be aware of is Australian pre-decimal silver coins dated 1910 to 1945 are sterling silver and 50% silver 1946 to 1964.
The sovereign and half sovereign were also issued in 1910.
Did those sovereign’s have the word Australia on them Chucky?
❤❤
Thanks, silent one🫣
