Tangkhul and all the indigenous tribes of Manipur are not naga...Naga is the Assamese ahom burmese term referring to tribe and also the term only for nagaland.... nagaland was the part of assam before getting statehood... their nagamese language is also similar to Assamese language..... Meanwhile manipur indigenous tribes are called Hao, most importantly hao is derived from tangkhul dialects...and also we Meitei have surnames like haorongbam, haobijam, haokhom etc, its because we are related.....Tangkhul are non other than the descendants of Saram Tangkhul Pakhangpa which is the another form of Meitei Nongta lailen pakhangpa....we are real siblings... that's why we tangkhul nurabi event is included in meitei lai haraoba... Tangkhul and other indigenous manipur tribes are already inhabited with meitei before joining India, we are one family....we not the part of nagaland....Naga was just used by British colonial when rule Manipur so as to separate our families 😢

Naga and Zo, the biggest trouble makers who are still giving sleepless nights to Indian government. One interesting difference is that though Nagas have different origin stories, totally different languages and migration still maintain unity and oneness but Zo people who have the same ancestor, same languages, folk songs, origin and festivals are so divided. They still cannot agree what to call themselves Chin, Kuki or Mizo. Must the the only people in the world with more than 3 names.

I dont know who came up with this hypothesis that Naga migrated during the Great Wall's construction but Zo tribe (Chin Kuki Mizo) also claim the same story of origin.
