HaHaHa! This was great! Yes, 6010 is a shit rod. Its primary purpose is for saving time on pipe by being able to do the root pass downhand. North America is the only place on the planet where it's still used. The cellulose cover creates hydrogen, and you end up with that in the root, which is why no one else uses it. Here in Japan, pipe root is a 7016 lo-hy equivalent. Pretty sure Europe and other places are, too. North America is changing to this, too, and it spells the end for this garbage rod.
I need a vizza i m wellding worker pliz
Damn, this guy just ran a 1/4" root pass with 7018
Thank you for this video sir.
Is it acceptable to weld the root pass with 7018 rood according to the ASMI standard and to be used in oil industry ?
That’s the baddest of ass
What's your amps for DCEN or DCEP?
Very Nice job
What amps you run for the root pass?
Only usefull tip is how u manage the magnetic blow and not telling, please tell!!!
How u manage magnetic blowing, any tips, please?? its almost impossible to weld this kind of stuff because sometimes magnetic blow is going wild??
Nice
Wow amazing!!
Well f*ck my sister and slap me silly! My stick 3g with 308 keeps looking like some one took a dam poop on it. I tip my Yankee Doodle hat to u!
Only video I've found close to a test I'm taking. I'm taking this test but it's with a 309 rod. And I'm told to drag the rod. I disagree, watching this video shows I'm correct
Deffinately not on a steam turbine!
Never in my life ever used 7018 on the root!
Very nice weld job sir
Show u r current
2G i like DCEN 3G i like DCPN 4G i like DCEN
over here in Canada im in an aprenticeship for pressure vessel welding, this video was very helpful, will be watching mmore of your content thank you for making this video
Nice job sir
If you get time can you do a video on how you weld P11 chrome with no purge GTAW root. And maybe duplex pipe 🙏🏼
Awesome video, completely agree the metric system should be the world standard!

I’m getting a good bead front and back of the plate but when I cut in half along the weld there’s porosity in the middle of the weld no sign on the surface of the weld, rods are fresh and I’m not whipping the rod either, any ideas anyone? Thanks
Long arc or wet electrodes.
I will keep trying, your videos have been a massive help, does running too cold cause the same problem? Travelling to fast ? Rod angle? Thanks from the UK
I'm a red seal welder here in canada. I hold pressure licenses for several procedures. I love your channel. You are an exceptional welder.
Thank you. It takes one to know one. Have a great day Kind regards Jonny

Congratulacion 😊
I've never welded 7018 dcen, I think I'm going to have to try it. Thanks
Why not please watch the video through the welding glass from start to finish of the welding road. The starting point is very important
It's very hard to get good arcshoots that's not out off focus when filming with an basic camera.
😮
I tried this with 6013 the other day, I can make the weld on the top, using 50amps. However, at that amperage I cant penetrate through the backside. If I use 55 amp I cant control the keyhole and the weld is too liquid and the backside is crowned up way too much. Any tips to control the puddle? Should I feed more rod faster when I begin to see the hole? Or do I travel slower at 50 amp?
Hey, it's been a while since your last video. Do you still work as a welder?
Man I love your videos and you are a great welder! 6010 has its place in America, some who work at it mastering it can make beautiful root almost like tig, just like you with 7018/8018 in Sweden, yet we use both. One day when I travel to Sweden I will have to message you to have a beer! Take care!
Try running it down hill it’s much nicer that’s how we do it here in the USA on our pipelines
For those that don’t know dcen is straight polarity and the arc is jumping from the rod to the work piece and dcep is reverse polarity and the arc is jumping from workpiece to rod.
Very nice sir your welding is the best thanks for your video tutorial always succsess amen by sudiman from Indonesia
Take the time to lay a bead or two to bridge with instead of using this 'hack'.
first i thougth he was praying while welding. 0:29
Excelentes soldadores muy bien
Gorgeous welding, magnificent arc shots. Thank you for sharing this with us.
What is the key to this weld? How do you keep a such a tight arc without snuffing out the arc? Are you using quite a high arc force? And are you using dcen, the way the arc looks and sounds I guess it might be. I tried this before and I have trouble with snuffing the arc. I was using a 309l-16 , I guess has similar characteristics to your 316-16 there.
I also wonder about this, plz NSW can you ansvar on this? 🎉
this remote would be a game changer for thin metals
It is.
@@NSW will you make a video of how you installed it please ?
@@devinptacek9122 they're are very common here so usually the machine comes with a socket for the remote. So u only need to plug it in.
Good
Hi sir Can you tell me please what is the size off that electrod you used
Great video. AC? I hear 7016 is a thing in Europe. I'm Oregon, United States of America.
