With respect, I'm guessing the NZs lost most of those sports... (basketball, baseball..) That said, the Haka still scares the b'Jesus outta me. Had it done against my team once, I nearly walked off the field and called a taxi... !
Come on bro! This is nuts! As New Zealander I find this shit fricken embarrassing! The haka should only for the all blacks and a NZ league team! That's it! No offence.. but some bloke slapping wheelchairs! And woman doing a war dance!! First thing they will do is RUN! The haka should be kept for special occasions and WAR being one of them! all blacks and league! That's it! It's getting out of hand! Soon if this behaviour continues it won't mean a anything!! It's on that edge right now 🤢🤮 no offence to no one but seriously! It's becoming a joke!!! This behaviour needs to stop!
So a man can do the haka, and women can't? Including us Māori women who were doing it for centuries, even before the colonisation of Aotearoa? Who are you to be saying that the haka is only to be performed at special occasions and at war? It's 2024, there's no war that our country is actively participating in, and I don't think we are anytime soon. The haka isn't and shouldn't be limited to just one sport that our country is best at, because that's not what the haka is about, the haka is about intimidating the opposition, and that's all it's been about from the beginning of time. Your logic is flawed, I hope you're not a Māori, because that's embarrassing af for all of us. Disgraceful.
I get it for rugby, that sport is like going to battle. But baseball? You do an intimidating war dance and then you run out and play some rounders? Also seeing a team of all white lacrosse players do one just isn't the same, I know New Zealanders will say "We're all one it belongs to all of us", but being completely honest it doesn't seem as authentic as when you see Maori people or people from the Pacific Island countries performing it.
You'd be surprised how ingrained maori culture is in New Zealand. Basic maori language is taught in virtually every school and kindergarten in the country. And almost every boy learns a haka and girls maori songs. As a Maori, I assure you this is not cultural appropriation. And as for teams not playing contact sports, the reason you do it is the same. It's like singing a national anthem to us. At the Olympics when a medal is won, the whole NZ Olympic team, male and female do a haka for them. The haka is appreciated and respected by all New Zealanders regardless of ethnicity. The haka is an ancient maori war ritual. But it is also a 130 year old halowed rugby tradition. Other national sports teams only started doing the haka in modern times. And contrary to popular belief, it's not really about intimidation. It's more about what it does to your spirit. It's has an amazing affect on your body and soul. And it is the ultimate in unity. That's why we do it. 5 million strong and taking on the world. It's about a fighting spirit. It is who we are. A small island nation at the bottom of the world. A nation of warriors.
Love the Haka, all performed it very well, except the female soccer's team... they made a mockery out of it. It's supposed to be an intimidating war ritual, not a dance battle tf
Remembered seeing the Haka, last year in the RL world cup. New Zealand Vs Australia (Elland Road). And honestly was spine tingling. Money well spent that day. It honestly was awesome. 💙.
The France team holding hands at the start 😂😂😂
Don’t ever lose that tradition ❤️💪
스포츠에서 전사의 의식을... 결의를 다지고 목표를 공유하며 의식을 집중하는데는 아주 효과적일듯 싶네요.
Totally embarrising that the female ones were drowned out....they have a right to Haka too
WAR culture preserved
There is ONE HAKA in this world, bitch ! Don't
Shit was tight until the wheelchair mfs
Black Ferns do it best , another level.
men who play softball or flag football should not be allowed to do Haka
With respect, I'm guessing the NZs lost most of those sports... (basketball, baseball..) That said, the Haka still scares the b'Jesus outta me. Had it done against my team once, I nearly walked off the field and called a taxi... !

Hakka is a Chinese dialect! If these people are misrepresenting it, they might as well play Patti Cake Patti Cake Baker's Man!
A haka is a Māori (New Zealand Indegenous) war dance, it has nothing to do with Chinese mate. - From a Māori
Haka vs Fiji was the best
