Do you love home theater AND gaming? So do I. Lets talk about it!
SWITCHING to the SilverStone Grandia 11 PC CASE
#hometheater #hometheatergamer #htpc
The home theater revamp is complete, but one lingering issue some of you pointed out in the comment section alluded to the PC kind of feeling out of place. While I initially said that "hey, I like the PC there!" The reality was I just didn't really want to spend anymore money. However, after thinking it over I decided to pick up the SilverStone Grandia 11 PC case to put all of my components in. Join me on my journey as I swap everything from one PC case to another, go over fan setup and temperatures and more!

Thank you for this extremely informative review! You mentioned the PB 2000 PRO slams like being hit in the chest with a baseball bat, whilst the PB 1000 PRO is more like being hit in the chest with a baseball. My question is, how much closer to getting hit in the chest with a bat will two PB 1000 PROs get you? Thanks
Hay, I have the RX-A4A. If I set it to straight or pure direct before taking measurements, would that work, or do I still need to go disable everything mentioned? Thanks
I want that video
Hi, if i want to use external dac i need to choose the unit with the digital output or first i convert the digital signal with my external dac and plugin to the flex rca so the outputs will be also analog?
An HTPC tutorial build would be awesome.
Thats a great change, looks much better now. Good idea.
You are absolutely correct on audyssey setting sub levels to -12db when it tells you to set it at 1/2 dial on the gain.
My denon 4700 explain in the deq menu: deq level offset 0 is for movies. deq level 5, is for audio with a very wide dynamic range. deq level 10, is for music with a wader dynamic range. deq level 15, is for audio mixed at a very high level.
Did you try to set all speakers (and the mail L/R) as "small" to see if the L/R also boost the db and match with the other speakers. ?
Why not just unplug the subs from the receiver, run Audessey and then plug them bsck in??
Unfortunately when doing that and re-enabling the subwoofer in the receiver menu after, Audyssey won’t allow you to engage room correction as it detects a system change.
@@HomeTheaterGamer I see. Thank you very much for the reply! I've been loving your videos! About to get a second Rythmik sub with a mini dsp. Can't wait to try it out!!
Having trouble with rats? So did I, took 5 minutes to find both birds and about 3 hours to get a good enough rat. A lot of people say check the saloon, not a single rat there in 3 hours. 2 found in sherrif's after placing predator bait. But one was poor and one got away, aftrr that the game refused to spawn rats. I left the area several times. Sleps several days, still the game didn't spawn a single rat for about 1.5 hour. What finally worked was to kill a stagg (any animal probably works) and place the body in the middle of the burned town. I slept 20 hours and came back to 2 rats eating the stagg. Keep in mind it might seem like no rats are there because they's so small they can hide behind the animal carass. Take a lap and check thoroughly.
Thanks for this video. Very useful. I'm testing the Hammershead Hyperspeed, Inzone Buds, Pulse 3D and Logitech 435 and everybody says my mic doesn't sound crystal clear as yours for example. Any advice? Thanks!
How do I do this with steams new interface?
I got the Xbox one edition of hogwarts legacy when I didn’t have a series x but now I do have a series x and I was wondering if I could upgrade the Xbox one edition to a series x digitally
for anyone whose touchy like me, i clicked 25 times in the right amount for the first 2 settings. i believe this is perfect
Hi thank you for the tutorial. I just want to ask about subwoofer volume. In my case if I set the volume to 50%, i will never get the sub volume at the same level during test tone. If I raise the volume to match the front DB level, i will end up with too loud bass during watching the movie. Is it necessary to match sub db level to my front?
Are you still doing an updated version of the minidsp subwoofer calibration?
What i kind of miss in this video is why you think the 80hz crossover was not good and you had to raise it. Is it because the max output at set frequency was not high enough to match the wanted output for a smooth response? For example; you wanted it to be 82dB, but you only got a max output of 78dB, so with the crossover set to 80hz, you were unable to match the desired output, and thus you tried a higher crossover?
Hello what's is your opinion on the script EVO 1 can you make a video review please
Definitely prefer the IMAX Enhanced version just for the fact that it fills more of my TV screen. Having a 75" set, I appreciate the added immersion from more of my screen's real estate being used. It makes a big difference.
you level match your fronts to 75db with avr volume set to -17.db . Normally you will use reference level -0db for that ? do you level match all speakers in AVR levels section, when you have run room correction software ?
Better with 2 or more subs than one then
Bro how you get a perfect cardinal or woodpecker with varmint actually? Any 3 star perfect one I see it goes down to 2 star after I use varmint, only small game arrows work for me 🤷♂️
How can you reset this
Wish I could do this to my 5.1.2 setup on the Windows standalone version...
You forgot to mention that you should only gray out the black setting if you have an OLED tv as those are the only displays capable of doing perfect blacks.
I wonder if the change would have been visible in the distortion graph in REW
I’m still on 1080p mainly
Have you tried the script A1 Evo? Your comments?
What do you consider to be small, medium, and large room sizes? My living room is 25 square meters, which is, by my calculation, around 269 square feet.
Idk if someone already mentioned this, but... what if you took the hardware off from the bifold doors and just made accoustic panels and put the hardware off of the old bifold doors onto the accoustic panels.
Great video series; I've been watching the various parts to familiarize myself and plan follow these steps soon. A clarification please, as I couldn't find a clear answer on the miniDSP website or in the product manual online - If I want to connect 4 subwoofers to a Denon X3700H receiver that has 2 subwoofer outs, would it be ideal to use both the analog RCA inputs, then assign the front 2 subs to 1 and the rear 2 to the other via the miniDSP software, or connect just 1 subwoofer input from the AVR, and then assign all the 4 subwoofers to it?
Great informative and easy to understand. Thanks broham. 👌
Great choice in case. I swapped out my Fractal Design Node 605 for a GD-11 last year, I was intrigued by the cases cooling capabilities as the Node 605 left much to be desired in that regard.. I had to get it from Amazon because it was still very new, and no retailers here in Norway had begun selling it yet. It was quite expensive, but well worth it imo. It's currently filled with an Asus z690-g m-ATX motherboard and an AVX512 enabled (for PS3 emulation purposes) 12900k running 5.3GHz and 32GB 6400c32 DDR5 ram, the GPU is an RTX 3090. And all is watercooled with a custom loop comprised of two 240mm radiators with Phanteks T30 fans, an Aquacomputer Ultitube 50 D5 reservoir and pump, CPU is direct die cooled with an Iceman DD block and the RTX 3090 has an EK waterblock and active backplate. Just yesterday I upgraded the PSU to an FSP Hydro Ti 1000w to get something more efficient than the old Fractal Design 650w bronze unit. I think it's the most powerful unit possible to fit with my space constraints without going SFX with an adapter etc.
Brad, that desktop case looks great in the cabinet! I didn't know that there is a case like that. Really makes your system look high-end. You're a talented guy. Keep up your great efforts. All the best to you and Trish!
Hi, I have quantasylum qa403 audio analyzer. It has a built-in software function, bottom toolbar, that lets you know if the USB connection is good. I just set up the device in a balanced loop back configuration. Set software to measure THD+noise at high sample rate and FFT then run sweep to verify all my USB cables are good.
3:23 Seems like your camera's going crazy. It's like parts of the screen is flickering. For me, I'm going to go for the Silverstone RM52 Rack Mount case. It's very pricey but hey! I want to fit in a full-tower CPU for the best heat dissipation and can look really sleek while hiding that PC case hidden away in a 35U or 37U enclosure. And yeah that case is going to have rails installed. I just don't really care for all the RGB looks and tempered glass side panels. I'm a "hide your computer away if it's working" kind of guy. The only parts that are in front of me is my LG C2 42" TV, keyboard, and mouse.
Yeah that’s the autofocus trying to figure out what to focus on causing the flicker. Recording a TV screen is always a challenge for any camera’s auto focus system due to the pixel structure and proximity. Probably should have went for single point focus on the DJI OSMO Pocket 3. I don’t have a rack and I don’t know if I’ll go that route anytime soon. Other things are of a higher priority now, namely a mini split haha.
What should I choose for CS2 >>>> 1080p 27 inch AOC 144hz , or ViewSonic 27 inch 1080p 165 hz , or after watching this video should I go to 24 inch 1080p or it doesn't really matter if I play E-sport games and want to do a headshots in long distances ?
Looks like your sub low pass changes the x-over slope, not the x-over frequency.
My audyssey setup grayed out
Shit trophy
Cool.
Nice!
I'm so glad you did this. Now the theater looks much better. Great decision. 💖
Question: What resolution are you using to game and what games are you primarily playing?
I play at 4K/2160p, though for Alan Wake II I played at 1800p so I could switch to path tracing. I also always use DLSS set to balanced or performance if a game offers it (or Quality if depending on performance) and will kick on frame gen if I need to. I primarily stick to single player games but do play coop games like Helldivers 2. Currently going through Jedi Survivor finally and also have been playing Outcast A New Beginning. I strongly dislike competitive multiplayer games so I never play PvP games.
@@HomeTheaterGamer what kind of FPS are you getting @ 4k on these games/settings?
I bought one of these and even test fitted my existing rig. But it just seemed kinda cramped and while the side fans have nice dust filters the front fans just have the mesh grill. Also it was a bit cheap looking compared to my much older Lian-Li full aluminum HTPC case. In the end I've decided to wait for something better and I think Silverstone has made it - the CW04. Hard to find much info on it at the moment but it's at Computex 2024.
It’s definitely a bit on the cramped side but it kind of comes with the territory I think. Lian Li makes amazing cases with awesome build quality at pretty much every price point I’ve encountered. I just did a build in the 216 for my in-laws and was just amazed at what you get for the price point. I saw the CW04 coverage from Gamers Nexus and while it does look amazing, it’s simply too large for my use case. I’d also imagine it’ll be pretty price and if I’d wager a guess, we’re looking at a $250 to $300 price point considering the feature set.
@@HomeTheaterGamer I still haven't completely ruled out using the GD11. Problem is to use it for my main rig means buying some 80mm fans (i'd buy Noctua) and a new CPU cooler, and I would also need a 12VHPWR or 12v2x6 90 degree power connector for my 4070 Ti Super. I don't need any of this stuff for the CW04 so that does offset the cost a bit. I'll just wait and see.
Hi, I have the Yamaha RX-A4A & am curious if adjusting the 2 subs individually within the receiver would be better than adjusting both as 1 unit? I am very new to DSP capabilities & how sonic summation treats the summed pair. Curious as to just how much correction can be applied through the Yamaha web editor. Thanks
Nice! This is definitely the case to be using for a "console" HTPC build now. Excellent. I have definitely considered it for my future builds.
It's an awesome case. I do enjoy the aesthetic of my old case but it stuck out like a sore thumb. Really happy with this case!
I still have a Silverstone HT PC case from my old gaming PC. I don't have time to build a new ine, but ine day. Mine is very old now, but was meant to hide like an amp or something with a flip down aluminum panel. Goid airflow, but not as good as what you have. I recommend the brand for sure.
Definitely worth the money if you're after this aesthetic! I also looked at other cases that allow you to remove the bottom feet and lay horizontally, but those had their own sets of issues. Mainly, the AIO pump being at the top of the loop (a non-issue if I would have swapped to air cooling) and none of them would have fit into my entertainment stand. I'm thinking of doing a follow-up video already talking about some things I've noticed in more detail, but that'll be after I do a few tutorials on some home theater stuff.
I have the Silverstone GD-09 for my HTPC. It's a little cheaper but I like the look of an all aluminum front. It looks like a premium home theater component in the cabinet. Just don't look inside. As you pointed out, not much room for cable management. For noise levels, I recommend Noctua fans. I want to be able to leave the PC on and have it not be noticeable during quiet scenes.
Awesome! I initially looked at the GD-09 as well but I really wanted something with radiator/liquid cooling support along with the mesh front panel. Which, obviously, led me to the Grandia 11 (technically the GD-11 I guess). I may eventually replace all the fans with Noctua's, even the front Corsair fans because I typically don't have RGB turned on. Though admittedly it does look pretty cool through the front mesh panel. Even so, with the fans all set to Quiet Mode in iCue, I never really hear them. The 4070 Super fan really only spins up and becomes noticeable while gaming thankfully, and I typically play at volumes where that isn't an issue. But I'd be interested to see what difference going to Noctua fans makes, and I think I also have enough room to do push/pull fans on the radiator up front. There is always something to improve upon, am I right? Haha.
That's a sweet case, curious that you're not using the PC for MadVR? Your specs are perfect for it to run 4k rips with tone mapping.
I haven't dabbled into the MadVR world yet but I plan to since it's free. But yeah, you're right; the specs on the PC are definitely up to doing some MadVR goodness!
@@HomeTheaterGamer I sense a new series coming from you 😊 yes you definitely should! I run Kodi with a Plex plug-in and have the launcher open mpc-be with MadVR and I'm golden! Plus you can still game with the HTPC
I wouldn’t rule anything out haha. However I need to first deliver out eh promised miniDSP updated tutorials, MultEQ-X tutorials, etc. I’ve fallen behind due to just life in general but I’m getting back to making videos now. Woohoo!
