man , I go in the sound all the time , but never do I go there. Way to bad for me. You guys got some balls to be doing that , had one guy about 7 years ago , went spear fishing on them , we saw him in the morning heading out , never saw him again , no body found him , just found his kayak tied to the pylons on the old bridge , never ever found the body. The way that water moves up and down in the column , if you fall out , almost might as well call it your ass , very dangerous place in a kayak. One guy on the bridge one day said he saw a 6 foot tarpon being eaten whole by a 18 foot great white. Its just a crazy place , good luck , stay safe.

NC fisheries has become so corrupt

I have the same complaint about the lengthy delay with turning my Kraken. Called Garmin twice and was told they filed the complaint but it would take a large number of the same complaint before the engineers would consider it valid. I use mine primarily for bowfishing on the snake river and the delay has taken some serious adjustment on my part to keep my boat and other anglers safe. It has me seriously considering going back to a Minn Kota after dropping big bucks on the latest and greatest. Really hope they take the complaint seriously and can fix it with a software update

Yah miss old bridge climbing down cat walk would jump in and spear some massive sheep’s 10lb usually only got 1hr window to spear fish them were the days and would use fishing pole catch a lot when vis was bad

Manns Harbor bridge was dead last week. Weather didn't help either.

I used to fish the old bridge a lot as a kid. The best time to catch them was usually a slack high tide. We'd scrap the pylons and use fiddlers. We once saved a young Chinese guy that fell off the bridge fishing and was being pulled out of the inlet by the current. He was cut all to pieces from the barnacles on the bridge.

At least you got 3 weeks out of it - My Minnkota arrived with ground up brushes and damaged stator. Minnkota wanted me to drive 200 miles to drop it off at an authorized service dealer for warranty work. Told them they were out of their minds and fixed it myself for half the cost of just the gas. My next one will be a Garmin...

I watched this video the night before I went out last weekend. There was a NE wind so I decided to go out of the north end like you said in the video. Unfortunately I didn't watch the ENTIRE video where you talk about how severe the flow can be under the high rise bridge. I went out with a coefficient of 66 and the pull under that high rise almost took me out to the ocean. I have a bow mount Motorola xi3 55lb AND a stern mount Bixpy. I noticed about 100 yards away that I was in a VERY bad situation but it was too late and it was pulling me in. After the ROARING RIVER sucked me under the bridge I put both motors to full speed and I was going 1/4 mph, per my Garmin! It took me a little over 1 hour to get to the bridge from Kiptopeke and 4 hours to get back. I'll never go to that side of the bridge again! Almost catastrophic!!

I’d use bolts with lock nuts underneath I think.

Bridge pilings mean bridge overhead. Maybe it is trying to access satellites that get shadowed when it gets moved off by the current. Satellite locking takes a long time. Find some stationary object without any overhead obstructions, see what happens. My Motor Guide Xi5 and Xi3 both have dual GPS sensors, one in the head and one in the base. All testing shows that combo works best for Anchor or Spot Lock mode. The Kraken only has one dual channel GPS sensor.

I just ran my kraken for the first time today. At the beginning jogging was HORRIBLE. When I pressed forward, the boat went backwards. It turned out I didn’t set the bow offset correctly. After setting it, jogging worked much better.

When you press the left/right button, it reacts immediately, but each click turns it by a whopping ONE degree. It's only after you hold down the button for a second then it will turn faster. This is a common complaint by Kraken users.

Always take a multi meter on the boat so its easier to figure out the power supply.

Join the Garmin Kraken Trolling Motor FB group and post this video there. This will help reach more Kraken owners. These same issues are discussed in that group.

Never caught a big red before in my life. WS flounder fishin up here in Cherrystone reef early evening . Bam hour and a half latter landed a 42 inch red . Had light tackle so had t really handle him gently and wear him down. Gave him a proper release I pray he made it. Like you said a fish if a lifetime. Indeed.

That parm recipe is a keeper will try. Also slaw looks good . Ty.
