That’s a lot of weight ☝️🤓
Looks like a standing bench press, lol
I noticed you push your hips out forward before you press. Did you get that from Starting Strength?
Yep, I think starting strength is credited for making this method mainstream. I don't use the double layback though, just the single to start the press.
@@JakeEarl I do the same for OHP lol. Been doing SS now for more than 2 years - gave me the best gains of my life. Also, you're strong AF man 💪
damn dude
About 100kg give or take nice work mate 👍
That’s amazing Your low bar must be 600
Gotta go lower man
useless tbh
I am in a push up phase myself after discovering francis ngannou mostly built his physique from them!
Underrated exercise for sure. I’m using them as a finisher here, but I have made whole workouts out of various variations of push ups. I think diamond is most practical to carryover to other pressing but I know the half rep push ups are supposedly great for building the chest
With a bar on his back and a spring in his step!
I do recognize this is mad and crazy as fuck strength but it feels like you are bending way too much, might want to just do behind the neck presses if going for shoulder development.
on a cut? since when? and yes thats midbar
April 29 or something. You would call it high bar if you were the one squatting
Awesome stuff keep uploading man
Sick!!
What's better seated or standing?
depends on what you are trying to do. Generally: hamstrings/glutes=Standing. Lower back/hips/erectors= seated. But there will obviously be some overlap..start light for both
Could you load more seated then standing? And thanks again. I'm still light with my standing GM 185 for sets of 12 to 15
No, I think they're about equal. I personally have done more seated, i've never even touched 300+ standing, but that comes from a lack of trying since I prefer zercher good mornings. Seated is going to actually be a bit trickier as far as loading goes since the safety measures you're going to have to take are a bit more than standing. I have to leave enough energy in me to squat the weight back up and rerack it unless I have someone who can help me stand up like I did in this video
What shoes do you use?
adidas adipower2
Always always always end the video right as you turn to the camera. That's how you know it's legit
Program?
None for this, I was doing enough front and back squatting at the time that I knew I had this in me. For my 625 I did a taper of sorts.. started with a 5rm one week, 3 the next, then 625. The second will generally be better for long term gains. You can start higher (10rm rdls) then make 10-20lbs jumps each week and attempt to get AMRAP down until you get to your new 1rm
good stuff
Nice lifts, like the new haircut too lol
I’d be flattened
Nice.
Are you only doing 1 set for every workout
Do you do only 1 set for the deadlifts here
Jacked
Bro it must be the cold, I think you got much more reps your doing 20 reps of zerchers squats 315. I would say feel better and come back to these front squat 315 and try it again
I think it was the cold. I’ve pretty much beat it at this point, but it stuck around a bit too long for my liking and Sunday was probably overall worst day of the cold. Lower body again tonight so we’ll see
@@JakeEarl ok brother wish u the best post how it goes
Shoot for a 225x20 bench goal. Every time I chase reps for a month or so I always come back able to lift heaver.
Squat eleiko 575 kg 💪💪👍
Good shit, man. Keep working.
HOLY SHIT BRO, that was pretty clean tbh nice work!!!!
Can i take a break from the gym for 1 month and still have the same strength, my workouts are similar to yours
Your strength probably won't drop too much, bigger thing would be work capacity. I take almost every top set to or very close to failure. If you're doing this as well on 3-4 different exercises, I would not recommend that after the layoff. That's because you won't be as conditioned for it. Instead, come back slowly and leave some reps in the tank for the first few sessions back
@@JakeEarl ok, thanks for that advice
Oh good, I'm not the only one who wears the belt when I overhead press. Right now mine is 140 lb, I can't wait to get where he's at.
Nice squat man
the voiceover is a cool idea
Great video. when we would you recommend using a belt? I’m in the 275 range and my no belt is significantly weaker so I usually try using it for my top sets but curious to hear your thoughts
Your “no belt” is always going to feel weaker because you cannot brace as well. If you feel it’s an issue, than drop the belt for a while until you get your beltless closer to your true squat. If you don’t see your bracing as an issue than don’t worry about it. There’s no rules around when you should use a belt, just don’t use one for every set
Nice rep. But you need to work on your back more.
nice one man, keep it up
nice squat
1500 kg squat 👍
Respect!
Thank you Ivan! I’ve been watching you for years, keep up the good work brother
@@JakeEarl oh thank you man. Glad to hear that. Keep training man. Your strength is awesome!
High volume is all about packing your muscles with glycogen by working out as anaerobicly as possible and then filling your muscles back up with carbs and repeating over and over until they are ballooned. As someone who rides track bikes I prefer to think about the functional benefits rather than the size its self, and the benefits are more about energy output rather than strength as you can be strong without size, but in order to have endurance and strength at the same time you need size.
What do you mean by the title?
I tried bodybuilding training for the past few months on and off but almost exclusively high volume for the last few weeks. I didn’t get any stronger or bigger (arms being the exception) higher intensity strength training yields me better results, hence the return to my roots. Not applicable to everyone, but I seem to respond better to this training style
This is a pushpress. Look at Klokov for OHP
Good tip about the lats, ive never used that
Nice shoulder press. This is strict as hell with no drive from the legs
the truth is, you went off roids.
If you’re seeing these lifts and thinking “yeah. Definitely on gear”, you might as well just quit now 😂
@@bergmanhoffstein801 pff, I know of people who take gear and can barely bench 100kg. And I know people who don't take gear and bench 230kg
