Wooden decking is NOT DEAD! Thermo Wood Oak Decking
A modern take on traditional wooden decking.
Traditional pressure treated wooden decks have been a finish of choice for years, but they have their limitations when it comes to life span. Duffield Timber have developed a new line of thermally treated Oak decking that has far superior durability, stability and life span.
The process of making Thermo Wood involves heating the Oak decking under very controlled conditions to over 200 degrees for a number of days. This vastly reduces the moisture content meaning that the wooden decking is stable right to its core, where pressure treating rarely gets to the heart of the wood.
We also fitted this decking using a hidden fixing system from Camp, giving a really clean and neat finish using stainless steel screws.

Today I went and collected my brand new 2024 Ford Transit Custom van after waiting 7 months for it to arrive and having never driven one before! Take a look at my first impressions of this new 2024 model, what's good, what's bad and how it compares to the previous model. Vans are becoming increasingly expensive these days, are they really worth the £50,000 price tag for what you get? Let me kno...

I tested the latest Forge M18 6ah battery against the well established M18 12 amp hour high output battery across 2 very different applications to see how the new technology performs. I put them to the test using the Milwaukee M18 305mm Chop Saw cutting some big section green oak, and also in the Milwaukee Plunge Saw ripping some MDF board. Two very different applications to really see what the...

That van sebsibly should be around 23 to 25 grnd max... 50 grand for a transit van is taking the piss.
Great videos on the plastic frame and decking, but it’s very expensive. £41 a pop for those joist/boards on the website 😮. If you have it, you better make sure it’s put down correctly like simon demonstrates brilliantly.
Hand nail ring shank nails got to be quicker and plenty of grab..🤷♂️
I went to buy a Renault Master last month. The sales fella thought he was doing me a great deal at £38000!! As people have said Its a tin box with a couple of seats and an engine. £50000 is next level. I politely declined and bought a low mileage second hand van. Its a gamble but I have plenty of change for repairs!!
Had my van for 10 days (950miles), had a handbrake fault and wouldn’t release. My vans been in the garage ever since (2 months so far) As they are unable to get the part to rectify the issue. Anyone else had similar issue?
People commenting about it being nearly £50k that is including VAT which you claim back through your business. It’s an expense, if you are running a serious business then you need a vehicle that reflects that. We have just replaced our transits which were new 19 plates for these. 0% finance available over 3 years… the deposit was the VAT upfront so £14k per van which will be offset against my next vat quarter (So indirectly comes back to me within 3 months) peace of mind for me, crew cab model so it’s family friendly and it looks professional… I don’t work for Ford but feel there’s no one on here explaining the £50k price tag… Never had an issue with current wet belt. Regular maintenance and inspection is essential with any vehicle. Look after the van and it will look after you. 😂
Bull shit
I never cared about the milwaukee track saw, always thought "naw, i'm totally gona get a festool", until now. It looks pretty nice actually.
Rev counter in the menu
Thanks for uploading the review. Am looking into which brand of 10 or 12 inch cordless saw. And the thing that most seem to miss from the reviews is the simple accuracy of the cut, 90° for instance, especially as they travel so far on the arms. Any thoughts on how youve found this one. Thanks Simon
Brother the totally new version is available and way better... hope you paid 20 percent less as a demo or brand new...?
he must work for fords
I watched this and decided to buy metabo. You didn't say 1 negative thing about the saw or stand, i owned that stand and it was utter crap.
£50,000...lot of money if your not 100% satisfied
50k..😂😂😂😂😂😂 Sure won't be a plastered van now would it!
What do you think of this security device for your new Transit? czcams.com/video/HH3CPtSeeks/video.html
Looking swole. Bravo
3 months later, they have released the 8.0 and 12.0 m18 forge batteries.
Nice to watch someone who takes pride in their work.
No
Great job, well done.
Impressive. But not as quick as a chainsaw. You can rip the tenon face with a circular saw as another option instead of buggering around taking multiple cross cuts. Or you can rip the tenon cheeks on a bandsaw. This machine wont work as quick if your doing traditional English scribe either. My main issue with mafell is simply that they are overpriced and their mortiser bars and chains aren't very durable at all. The prices they charge for spare nose bearings are a total rip off. You can get them way cheaper at any bearings supplier. They are lying when they tell you its a non standard bearing !
Good luck wi that mi old marra..
Nope. Wouldn't get a T7 either same vehicle. No van is worth 50k
No
The world has gone nuts! 50,000 thats 800 a month over 5 years to pay it off without interest. Certainly not for a Sole trader!!!
Worst transit ever!!! Why a square steering WHEEL? the heater fan controls are dim witted and slow and you have to take your eyes off the road to use them. Much easier having knobs. Oh and its even better when your screen turns blue or black and you cant use any function on it. The seat feels like im sat on a metal bar. . £50,000 for one is ridiculous. They have ruined the transit with this one in my opinion.
Interesting enjoyable watch, well done Mr B.
50 grand "BONKERS "
Use composite boards, will last forever
Hi Simon, did you get a binder folder with the owners manuals, service book etc. when you picked it up?
Nice 👏
What a joke, 50k to transport your tools around so you can earn a living!!!!!
Whats internal height from cargo floor to roof? You didnt measure it unless i missed it.
im genuenly scared if i have to share the planet with idiots that 50k for transit van .. Wow no one can be that stupid ..
It's an awful van with loads of faults. DON'T BUY ONE.
The engines are rubbish no way any van is worth 50k it's that price because cashvid 19 and more expensive with money pox !! God help us kier stanlin
Matrix LED headlights are much better than standard LED. Ford behind the times as usual. Being over K£40 does this mean the very very expensive VED?, over £700 a year? My car has stalk gear-lever and it great. No need for anything else when auto. As for handbrake another Ford failure, park press in the end of the gear stalk which also set the handbrake which, of course auto releases. Very old fashioned if it doesn’t. Renault Traffic is a far superior van in every area.
Drove one and what a rubbish van who puts the vans right where your hand is by the gear knob for one
To me, that seems vastly overpriced for ‘at the end of the day’ a Transit van. I brought a Vivaro in August 2023 (72 plate) with 200 miles on the clock for £22,000. Ok, slightly smaller than the transit, not auto (which I didn’t want) but similar in many ways. It has air con, rear sensors, fog lights, cruise controls, etc. It’s a work tool, which does exactly what I want it to do, with a fair degree of comfort, and yet striking a sensible balance against the initial cost.
Never would I ever pay 50k for a new vehicle. Much rather buy a used one at 40-60k miles, 2-4 years old, reasonable service history. Honestly, I dont think I'll ever buy a new car in my life. My last transit was less than 15k and has been very reliable for me over many years. I do like these cars, but not at that price point.
Thats entertaining and interesting stuff mate It is like handheld wood lathe
50 grand 💥😮
No spare parts apparently.. total rip off and shite security too!!
You'll need to get @sussexinstallations to fit you a nice security panel on the doors before someone rips a hole in it.
I'll stick with my lwb highroof 13 reg 6 n half grand,50 k for a new van? wow, that's abit touch for me.what about the filing system on the dash where's that gone?I have all sorts of shit on my dash board that I don't need but doesn't seem right if it's not there😂
Pissoff, you didn't pay 50 fir that.they make people pay what they think they can get away with.
With the rack, can you use the plastic boxes Milwaukee tools come in? I don’t mind buying the packout. Just got a load of boxes already
Just bought a 2024 new gen transit custom in New Zealand. 62,000 nz dollars which works out to be 29,000 pound. You guys are getting ripped off over there
Thank you Simon and Mark, amazing attention to detail and the process.💪👏🤩
