Glad you enjoyed our island and the truck too. Campbell River BC.
Damn my Chevy 1500 TrailBoss LT cost me $67,765 and its smaller. I guess mine has more option I guess.
Bring donuts to the chevy service reps during your countless visits... That way they won't avoid you when you come back for the same repair over and over... Just a helpful hint.
Ok, this one made me laugh.
Should of kept the ford. Good luck with that direct injection and your intake valves getting full of carbon deposits.
My buddy has 26 points and still hasn't drawn it.
Lol. You better make sure your buddy is filling out the application correctly because draw odds for 26 points should be 100%.
@rutbuster88 I'm pretty. Sure he knows how to fill it out. He was a guide in Colorado for 8 years , he doesn't live in Oregon anymore. The first 10 years of sending and he lived here in Oregon then he moved to California for work then Colorado now he's in Georgia. And he is. Contacted fish and wildlife and they have no explanation for him. But he thinks it's because he's moved so many times and he is now an outer stater and not an Oregon resident.
@@derekcarpenter5394 Ok, the out of state issue is likely it. Oregon limits non-resident tag numbers to 5% of the tag allocation. This unit and the other two like it have roughly 50 tags, so that's 2-3 tags he's battling other non-residents for. I hope he draws soon, it's a great hunt.
Traded 2018 F350 for 2024 3500 gmc ultimate Denali , boy do I regret that . Going back to Ford as soon as possible.
2023 Ford raptor thinking about buying a 2024 trauma 250.. looking to tow a 19 ft camper also small landscaping trailer for ATV. Any comments? Should I make the jump
awesome video I have the same truck in the midnight edition. I’m looking later on to upgrade the wheels. Also, let me know what you upgrade to. I’m looking to try to fit 35s under it without having to level or do anything to the adjustment but also don’t want them too big and wide whether they’re throwing up rocks on the side of the truck trim
Great video I have a 2024 2500 HD midnight edition gas burner. I’m having trouble with my wireless charger in the console. I plan to bring the issue up when I get the oil change.
What’s the icon on the top left, right above the 140MPH?
That comes up when the truck is first started, showing which seats are occupied and if the seatbelt is in use. It goes away quickly.
In May I purchased a 2024 Silverado 2500HD LTZ Diesel. Got a great deal. MSRP was $87,160. Saved $6200 using GM’s Supplier Discount. Couldn’t be happier.
That big console in the middle feels like I'm being crammed into my seat. Those center consoles take as much space as a third person in the front seat.
Best decision you ever made.
Nice I have that same truck except mine has the bench seats in the front. So far I put 35x12.50x18 Toyo tirees, love my truck so far
Pennzoil ultra platinum with purolator boss oil filter. Way better than fords synthetic blend junk or valvoline
Chevy the best
Nice truck..
Thank you. Makes me lean more towards that set up. Hope the vacation was good👍🏻
I was wondering if you had kept track of the fuel used as per a full tank off the start and a final fill at the end to compare with the computer readout ?. Also being that you were driving a near empty HD truck, what tire pressures were you running front and rear. I realize the idiot TPMS system wants to make a person think there is something wrong when lowering the pressure to what is required for the actual weight of the axles ( per tire/weight charts ) and that prevents some from thinking they can lower the pressure when empty to get a better ride .. at a slight reduction in fuel mileage though as its always a trade off.
I did not track fuel consumption and I've left the tires at whatever was set at the factory. The ride is comfortable so I haven't considered lowering the pressure. Thanks for watching.
@@rutbuster88 I thought about what you said of the ride and where you drove and probably very little of that whole trip even on the northern section was on highways that actually see much in the way of freezing temps and the type of frost heaves and pot holes that we get here in northern Alberta. Its been many years since I was on l 5 south of Seattle to the Willamette valley area or also on Vancouver Island and across to Tofino but don't recall anything bad at the time for road smoothness. Most heavy duty pickups do not ride very well up here on our crap pavement, certainly not the solid front axle Ford or Ram trucks and why I was curious about your tire pressures ( I should have known better, its like a different world road wise down there ) and have been contemplating a purchase of a GM HD gas truck but have not done a demo of one in later years with the 6.6. By the way my dad was born in Oregon before the depression and was on a little farm in what now is part of Sherwood and I see from the map greater Portland is certainly not far away anymore !. Thought you might find that amusing.
@@charlesb4267 I have a 2024 Chevrolet 2500hd double 4x4 with a 4WheelCamper Hawk. When I get off pavement, I lower the tire pressure to 32 PSI to improve ride and traction. Even at full tire pressure the truck rides great for a 3/4 ton truck. I have seen higher MPG on the freeway then my 1/2 ton trucks with this camper. With 1/2 ton truck I was at my full payload or above, with the 2500hd I am in the middle of my payload, which is a good place to be.
Appreciate the content I'm looking at the 6.6 gas please keep the truck content coming.
I have basically the same truck on order. But white and with 20 inch wheels. What do you get for MPG on the highway?
Gas?!…so still not a real truck…
Gas or diesel?
Dang that slate gray with black looks great
Love the truck. The price is just ridiculous.
IMAGINE If this esteemed gentlemen gets his trucked spray painted ROSE RED ……he might need a restraining order against me…. No I’m playing…. But I think he should have it spray painted bruh….
Interesting on the chain hook ups for the hitch. It's the #1 complaint I have on my 2010 F150. Seems like Ford has yet to learn the obvious.
GM is trash!!
Gonna need a lot of luck to keep that Chevy long time without a lot of shop time. Not near the truck a Ford is. Got rid of my last ever Chevy 18 months ago after two new transmission’s in 4 years. Plus lots of other issues. My ford has been perfect in 44000 miles. No more Chevys for me!
Doubt it
Ahh yes. You had bad luck, so now everyone else will too…got it.
I did this in a 3500 LTZ coming from a 2022 F350. Loved the Ford but the Chevy is great too! Congratulations!!
You better have warranty on that one
Silverado is a great truck I have had three all have been rock solid
except for that headlight that keeps going out.
No way👎
The last three Chevy vehicles we owned.. all purchased new and all had major issues. My 2004 Avalanche was nice, but had lots of random issues (wiper motor, window motor, tailgate latch malfuntion, etc). My wife's 2014 Traverse needed a motor replacement in 2017 forcing her to trade it in. And last week my 2017 Silverado with only 99k miles had a catastrophic transmission failure. I'm done with GM (especially Chevy). Went to a Honda Ridgeline...
You ever do any preventative maintenance? I've had 4 gmc over last 20 years, still got 3 , also wife drives equinox , they've all been great so far , but I also do maintenance on them myself , service myself 🤷
GM transmissions need the fluid changed more often than some other brands and the transmission cooler bypass is something that needs to be changed out for the lower temperature version documented in a TSB. They're solid trucks aside from the trans cooler bypass cooking the transmission. Be careful with that Ridgeline, they have a terrible reputation for transmissions too.
Why didn’t you get the f250 Platinum Tremor.?
$$$$$
Just put 0 down on my 6.2 trail boss 1500
Smart man 🤦♂️
Did you use a clamp on the tripod for your daughter’s rifle attachment? Any thoughts or recommendations here? I am thinking to setup my daughter similarly on a tripod.
No, I actually used a Primos tripod trigger stick for her and it worked great. I use a bipod for myself but thought the tripod would give her more stability.
@@rutbuster88 awesome thanks! This will be her first hunt ever and mine too! So we are looking for all the advice we can get before we start. It’s amazing how much knowledge one needs to attain for this sport. It’s a little overwhelming but I’m very excited and looking forward to it. Thanks again!
No no. Don’t do it. Dont get a Chevy
😂😂 all the same
YES GET A CHEVY, Ram no longer makes a V8, you can’t get a V8 Tundra,Toyota Tundras V6 turbos are blowing up left and right look it up for yourself, Chevy is by far the best looking too!
@@jimmycline4778What on earth does that have to do with this video?
Damn. That's a great price. Less than I paid for my 3.0 AT4 last year.
The tremor f250 is way nicer
My neighbor has a 250 Tremor. They are nice, no doubt.
Your way better off now down the road you won't be in the shop all the time good luck with that beautiful chevy
Yup, happy until the engine takes a dump! Chevrolet is plagued with engine issues. Do I little research and you can read just how bad they are. They have a customer satisfaction bulletin out right now telling dealers to replace engines. A lot of them don’t even make it 5000 miles. But it is a beauty. 🫢
Wtf , my 1998 has 265k, 2015 has 280k , 2021 has 40k wife drive 2019 equinox has100k, so the engines are fine, people need to learn preventative maintenance it seems
thanks for the honest review of your f150 Ford! good luck ☘️ with the new 2500
Will you put a shell on the back as per the same theme with the Ford F150 for camping or be pulling a trailer and use the flat cover it appears you have now ?
I'm going to try the tonneau cover for a while. I want to haul my ATV in the bed of my truck and this tonneau cover gives me full bed access when rolled up. I'll post a video about the cover soon.
@@rutbuster88 Its impossible to have it set up for every scenario, I see those on videos who are pulling the insanely large toy hauler fifth wheels ( strangely enough with a tow truck pulling them out of a mess LOL ) so they can haul toys in the back of the trailer and literally the kitchen sink and then some as well all with them.
So true, I've seen those videos as well. I don't plan on getting carried away.
@@rutbuster88 LOL, I would have zero desire to use such a behemoth even if someone gave it to me, the SS Titanic would be a fitting name for one of those the way I view them. By the way on a slightly different topic, did you make it up to Alaska as I saw you make the comment on a video of your plan but never noticed a video that appeared to be Alaska themed.
We did make it, an amazing trip. I was going to post a video but I got too distracted enjoying the trip that I didn't take much video.
Just got the same pickup minus the leather and with 20"s, but a 3500. $5k under MSRP. Love it so far!
I’m trying to decide between this truck and a F-150 Powerboost. It’s going to be a mix of weekend hunting/camping and daily driving in the city. So I’m really looking forward to your videos on this truck.
Check out the 1500 Sierras with the on-line 6 diesel. Far better than any F-150 these days (and I've been a Ford guy my entire life). 27-30 mpg highway, tows a TT with ease, and crazy comfortable. GMC or Chevy. Dealers are stocked right now. Well-appointed for low to mid-50s.
Just got that same truck! It was $66355 msrp dealer knocked off $2789 invectives. Low 60s I couldn’t complain
I did same thing in 2020. Ordered a built up lt to save money. Got everything a ltz has minus led lights and power mirrors and saved a lot of $
Won’t have another gm truck at the farm. They fall apart
Nice truck man!......that is what I paid for my 23 High Country 2500 in April of 2023, all the options add up quick......I was going to get a 24 but they were really wanting to get rid of 23s and 6spd didnt bother me on my 2020 LT....would be nice to have the bigger screen ( had it on a 1500) but not too big a deal... havent had a single problem on mine and GM ride real nice with the independent front suspension.... should last forever
All of that for under $70k! Not bad.
