FLOAT FISHING for Steelhead in SLOW Moving Water
Takes a while to walk out there but it’s so peaceful and the fishings great!
Fresh water drum aren't very good a saltwater sheepshead is a delicious fish they have human like teeth and look nothing like this
They taste great caught from cold water, but if you catch a male in spawning condition in the summer, they smell like shad guts.
Place on a hickory plank, cover with tomato sauce and bake for 40 minutes at 300 degrees, remove from oven, throw away Sheepshead and eat the plank 😅
I love catching sheepshead, hate the slime and smell though they leave you and your net with.
They're great marinated in kerosine
😂😂
I’ve never caught one but only tried just recently they seem to be hella fer a fight
Niccee
Sheepshead🤔
That's what we call them here in the 716👍😎
Nice walleye video. I just got back from Erie. youtube.com/@hodgesoutdoors?si=Tx9TIHZTIsGMi_oe"
I love the KVD coffee scented stuff! Nice fish!
Thanks Cray, I never new about coffee scented baits lol
Hey I got a quick question how do you spool a centerpin in really lost
You have to first put on some backing, then tie a line to line connection to you mainline. If you do it yourself you just have to guide the line onto the reel so it's evenly space out. Or you can just take it to Cabela's and they'll do it for free!
love this video!!! great work guys!!
Thanks Bryant 😁😎
18:17 thought you were running from bees or something haha. What the heck. You boys sure love these drum.
😂🤣 drum are goated lol
some nice Largies
Thanks 😎👍

What kind of accent do you guys have? Where you from?
Im not sure lol, Buffalo
Nice fish...the dropshot lays the hammer down on the late-Summer bass!
Thanks Chris, dropshot is the best🎣🎣
What month was this? Thanks!!!
I think October
Hey dude, I sent ya a dm on instagram, been watching your videos over the last couple of years. I live 5min from Youngstown and started obsessing with fishing the river the last year. Ive wanted to catch a king so bad, but have not had any luck. Id love to meetup sometime your out and maybe you can shoot me some tips on the correct gear setup, leaders, etc… Ive spent thousands at this point and have came down to the conclusion I just need to talk to someone that knows what they are doing shore fishing the river. If ya don’t mind what size/type of line, leader, backing if any do you run on your center-pin? I just purchased a okuma raw-1002 as my first one a few months ago but strung it the wrong way and have only used it once. I would love to know the tackle involved in float fishing devils hole with a center-pin as well as a spinning rod for salmon and steelies. Looking forward for any help as the mighty niagara is an entire different ballgame then what I can find about all these other river fishermen online
What net do you all use?
Ego s2 slider
Some nice fish! Enjoyed the 🎥
Thanks! 🎣😎
good fish
Thanks Larry
Nice walleye!
Thanks Jack🎣😎
The kings are entering the river here on Lake Ontario, I hope to see you fishing for them over there soon it's so funny watching your dad fight kings
Hehehehe it is pretty funny, run is almost here!
Are yall ready for steelhead season??
Ohhh yeaaaaa, just need some salmon eggs and then we set!
Shout-out to Chris for taking us out!😎🎣
nice fishing.
Thanks!
Better than a sheethead
Any tips on spot I could catch white bass, smallmouth or largemouth bass in the area? I’m not looking for your best spots. But I will be visiting or a day or two on a road trip and want to take a few casts
Also awesome video!
Thanks Chris, you can get on some fish pretty much anywhere from the shore, all state parks along the river and lake have access to the water 👍
Great, informative videos gents. Best around! Is that the Artpark entrance?
Trent smokes fent.
It’s called “Sheep Head”, NOT “Sheeps Head”! Drop the “s”. Every time you pronounce it like that, you sound more and more like an amateur.
What size line you use down there.
21lb mono for mainline, and for leader I switch between 15-8lb fluro depending on water color
What lb test you use I have 10 is that OK for there
Perfect
Awesome video - BTW, your grates are wrong-side-up on your Weber. The flat side up is how they are intended to be.
Thanks Greg! I did not know that lol
Yo headed out there this week gotta fish there maybe see you there what they call the power plant now so I can put it in my phone
Good luck to you Robert 😎
They are drum. Sheepshead look very different and have a mouth full of teeth.
Why are we calling drum sheepshead? Are we trolling or just plain stupid? Sheepshead are completely different fish that do not live in inland freshwater lakes alongside smallmouth bass and such. Its just silly guys. Yall are gonna get roasted for this oversight
Just a nickname 😂
Uuummmm one Gud wht!?!😂
Heheheh
Great video and some huge sheep’s! You gotta do so walleye videos
Thanks! I just need a boat lolll

That's right 👍
Dude, Russ’s has a great net made in MI, built to last a lifetime, very solid, extends to 14’. I use mine all along the lake or river.
I'll have to check that out
I wish fishermen would stop calling these fish, “sheepshead’s”. They are fresh water drum, or just, drum. Some people call them turbos, but even they will call it a drum before a sheepshead. They are bottom feeders, they are clean bottom feeders, they don’t eat dead shit, crawfish, worms, mussels, clams, snails, occasional minnow…. They don’t have crazy bones like carp, they fillet like any other game fish. Ive been told their meat is firm and holds up to grilling, or putting into soups and casseroles, it is best to soak overnight in buttermilk, breaded and deep fried.
The other name they are known by is Pittsburgh Bass lol
Now that's a great name
