hello there. I wondered if ya tried my sauce for a burger? Eg. Mustard pickles etc. Anyway - wish I was there...
Gday mate no unfortunately I haven't, but it sounds good! Cheers and thanks for watching
The rain and the mud always makes it hard. Just a heads up apparently you need rated shackles on the safety chains of a trailer now.
Rain and mud reduces the crowds to 😉
Great overnighter mate. Beautiful spot. Rear set up works a treat hey. Good job mate. 👌 Cheers Brad & Fi
Thanks mate, its a pretty good area. The rear storage gets a big tick so far!
Love the style and personality of these videos, appreciate the uploads Inspires me to get out there. Keep them coming mate
Cheers mate thanks, there is so much to see and explore.
Nice work again Rich! Looks like a brand new fire pit as well👌
Thanks Matt, yep its a new firepit
Awesome mate , looked like a top spot , great little table 🤠
I think you should get royalties for that design 🤣 Thanks for watching mate
Nice little overnighter Rich. Good spots there but its definitely a mid week area, not so bad in winter though. Looks like the mods you made in the back of the car is working well for you.
Thanks, Damo, it would definitely get busy! The rear setup has worked really well so far. I found the top section worked really good for even just storing my food bag on a flat surface and leaving it there worked a treat. So that's a win! Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great video buddy, really enjoyed it, hey did u cross your trailer chains at the end of the clip? Catches the trailer if it ever comes off
G'day Loius, the chains are definitely crossed. I have always done that. It actually works too. Many moons ago when we were doing a photosgoot in tne Flinders a certain trailer company had a hitch break...the chains caught it. I'm definitely a fan of the cross method. Thanks again for watching.
@@OffroadTouringLife yeah me 2 unfortunately, probably my fault but my trailer came off, luckily travelled small distance and going slow (lawnmower trailer)
It's never a good feeling!
Thanks
Thanks so much for your support mate! It really is appreciated. Cheers Richard
@@OffroadTouringLife my absolute pleasure
Can't get into the Solo stuff. Think i need more than my own company 😂
🤣🤣 it's not for e eryone. I have camped by myself for years. Oh and with mates 🤣
Great video, Rick; sometimes it's better to go camping out of season. You get the pic of the sites.
Thanks Ed, that's why we camp all year! Thanks for watching
Awesome video again, what fire pit are you using please?
Cheers thanks Paul, the firepit is from Vicoffroad. Thanks for watching
Nice one Rich! Love your work mate, Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve, it's a great area, plenty of tracks around there also with some good views
Nice one Rich. I love that you keep it simple.
Thanks mate, I'm looking forward to giving it a trial run.
Nice little project Rich. Only way to see if it will work how you want it to is to give it a try.
Thanks mate, my main thoughts behind it were also to keep the heavy items more secure. Especially nkt running a cargo barrier. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to commnet.
Nice one mate , 🤠
Thanks mate.
Love my FJ never letting it go 😊
I'm still enjoying mine!
Everything has its spot, I like it
It did, I had that set up for many years.
Which month ususally snow falls
Anytime from now, august is generally the best.
Awesome trip mate , some great silo art. Nice camping spot too next to the lake 👍👍
Thanks mate, they are so impressive. We stumbled across the campsite by pure chance to. Thanks for watching, mate.
Some clever people around, yeah getting down around 2/3 degrees here in wa at the moment
There sure is, the cabin ended up being a good call. It was dark at 5:30pm. The rain was coming in sideways at time, and temps dropped more. I dont mind winter camping at all, but it was a good change. Plus dinner was so good! Thanks for watching.
Nice trip Rich, something a bit different. Haha yeah swag with no poles, i still have my old Darche traditional swag, no poles, no fly screen, no problem.
Thanks Damo,.we had a good time out that part of Victoria. I still my OG swag to. Super simple just like how you described yours. Thanks for watching.
Nice one Rich, touring is where ever you want to do it. Fancy a swag with no poles lol. Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve, we had a good time. The counter meal on Friday night was good too! Swag without poles...who would have thought hey!
Nice work mate, looks like a good trip!
Thanks Lee, there is plenty to do out there. Thanks for watching, mate
Very help full thanks for the video.
Thanks, mate, I hope you got something from it. Cheers
Yes, deafently did.I went and used your advice to season my new dulux swage.
Awesome! Enjoy your new swag!
Love the simplicity of this mate. So good.
Cheers thanks! It works well for us.
Favorite color is Voodoo. Just like mine. And yours.
Close mine is cavalry blue
Keen to know how much it sags!
It barely sags at all. I have used it so much since this was made. I would buy another one. 👍🏼
i have a 2011, it's been meticulously maintained and rust free. low kilometers and supper fun to drive..........i'll let it go for $75K canadian..........yeah, just kidding. i would never sell my baby.
It sounds like your FJ is definitely part of your family! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tips, I'm new to camping with the awning etc so it's always good to see people with knowledge sharing it through their experience. Thank you again.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I'm sure you'll enjoy camping and making memories.
Nice work mate. That would making tea a breeze especially if you’re just staying overnight, ya wouldn’t have so much crap to clean up except all the empty stubbies 😏What thickness is the ally ?
Gday mate, from memory it was around 3mm. Cheers
Did you consider rice or noodles to serve underneath the stir-fry?
Noodles are definitely on the list for next time.
My jack Russell sleeps at my feet in the sleeping bag, I wouldn’t dream of making her sleep outside on a -3 night. But it’s a lot harder with a bigger dog.
It's definitely harder with a bigger dog. With the cover over her crate, you'd be surprised how warm it is in there. She generates a lot of body heat. If I'm in RTT on my camper, she is sometimes up there with me. Thanks for watching.
the feature I like the most about the FJ is the fact that is aging very well. in a time where SUV's with the same features cost north of $50k I am happy that I have no car payments and a tremendous toy to drive every day
Definitely I couldn't agree more with everything you said! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Love how simple you keep it Rich!
Thanks mate, unfortunately my firepit has pretty much burnt out. I'm in the market for a new one.
Awesome vid Rich, thank you. My small lapdog (45kg Rottie) will bunk in the swag with me but I'm going to look at getting a crate cover like you have for Scout. I didn't see any vans in the background there, do you think the track would allow a mid-sized van (Expanda Outback, single axle) to get in easy enough?
Gday Luke, you could get a van into there at the time of this trip. The track was in great condition. The campground itself does close seasonally in winter. But sheepyard flat and other spots along the river are open. The main "Howqua Teack" can become impassable for trailers in winter, so it is best check conditions prior to towing in there. The covet works well. The crate was slid under my camp table, too. Thanks for watching
@@OffroadTouringLife awesome! thanks for getting back to me so quickly :)
No problem at all mate, enjoy your time up there.
I was there 2 weeks before you. Camped near the Upper Jamieson Hut.
That's awesome mate, upper jamieson hut is definitely one that doesn't get mentioned a lot.. Thanks for watching
Hi I got kelpie too she stays on dog bed right in front of swag always stays close there great dogs thanks for sharing your camp 👍
Thanks for taking the time to comment. It is a top campground even for a base camp. It sounds like you have a great pup too!
Love the kelpie, better sub! I just let my border collie sleep in the car, saves bringing a crate
Thanks for the sub! Scouts best friend is a Birder Collie. She is my brothers collie. They are so funny together! While ii was camped here one of the other campers had a Kelpie. They had a good run after the ball in the morning.
Great little spot down by Frys Hut
It sure is mate, plenty of history.
Been too long since I’ve been there. Lots of great memories from that spot. Have camped at Fry’s in the exact spot. Toilet trained one of my kids on the pit toilets there!
Thats cool, tne best way to toilet train is when out camping! Thanks for watching.
@@OffroadTouringLife there was a heap of oranges in the pit loo. She just about fell in looking at them.
Gee that's odd! I wonder why tney were in there?
Nice little over nighter Rich. Such great dogs Kelpies, looks like your arm gets a good workout with that ball lol. Mine loves to be in the swag with me, dont think id ever be forgiven if i didnt let her in.
Thanks Damo, don't worry she was eyeing off the swag around 8pm 🤣 she had a run around with another Kelpie in the morning from one of the nearby camps too.
Great vid Rich. I also have a kelpie that has been crate trained since a puppy. I just swaped over to the doggy den (dog swag) as it is lighter and takes up less space and is snake proof. You must live near me as I often see the FJ around home. Keep up the great vids mate.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to commnet. I might have a closer look into the doggy den thanks for the tip.
Awesome video mate 👍 keen to check out bindaree Falls this weekend
Thanks mate, they are spectacular. I have visited tnere countless times. Enjoy
Nice 👍 the midweek escape artist uses similar bivvy tent and awning but U could get sides 4 Ur awning and sleep init in a camping cot like Geordie Jimmy did
Gday mate thanks for watching, I do have a fullnset of wall for the awning, but I have never used tnem all. I bought tne awning from a good mate second ha d and he threw them in. I have used an end wall, though, when the rain was terrible.
@@OffroadTouringLife U should do it 1 time less kit to carry minimal camping U gotta watch fish 13 I think he's called that guy's a nut he's cool 😎 dunno how he gets all his kkit
No worries I'll check him out!
Very entertaining buddy
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
I'll be up at frys this weekend coming mate! Keen as to get away for the weekend 👌
Perfect mate, there is a walk along the river heading back towards Sheepyard Flat. There is some history there. Also be sure to check out tunnel bend too
Nice one Rich! Great area. Cheers Steve
It sure is mate, plenty of history.
Looks good. I'd dine with you!😬 Magic spot. FJ so strong!
It's a top spot!
Love it there Rich👌
How good is it!
