The way to algebraically solve it is to take the equation x³-i=0, then factor out x+i (since x = -i is a solution, but x isn't -i), and we get x²-xi-1=0. Quadratic formula is (i±√(i²+4))/2 = (i±√(3))/2. x=(i±√(3))/2

I heard Joscha Bach talking, that infinity is a concept that don't really exist. Mathematicans use ist, to "describe numbers so high we can't count them". But infinity create mathematical paradoxes, so the axioms are flawed.

to be simpler in term, not all infinite are equal, for exemples pi is infinite 3,1415..... but decimal numbers (0,1-0,2-0,3 and so on) are also infinite which had pie inculeded in it, the comparison is like comparing real numbers (1,2,3,4,5...) with decimal numbers (0,1....),(0,2...),(0,3)....) . I am sure u can imagine that decimal number are in larger in quantity because just within 1 and 2 there are infinite decimal numbers already. but to answer the meme the infinite 20$ bill's had more value because both infinity is the same quantity. but anyway value or worth is given by human anyway, without scarcity and comparison to anything does those bills had any value to begin with.

  • @DemonLordOfGluttony

When I built my first raytracer and figured out how to raytrace cylinders, the compound of 5 tetrahedra (which is my favorite) was one of the first things I made a render of. The regular compounds were the first things I printed when I first got my hands on a 3D printer. Great video as always!

I disagree; for any transaction involving a finite amount of money the infinite $20 bills will involve counting as little as a twentieth the amount of bills. This has added utilitarian value, so the $20 bill stack is worth more. Also, the kilogram of steel is *extremely* slightly heavier, as the center of mass of the steel is closer to the center of mass of the earth when compared to the feathers. I did the calculations a while ago so I can't completely remember, but the steel was heavier on the order of magnitude of either micro/nano Newtons.

What's funny is since money is only valueable due to the finitism of resources. An infinite stack of both would not just be equal in value to each other. But also to nothing. Since the value of the dollar would be 0 if there was infinite of it.

People are morons. They hear this idea that some infinities are bigger, but they dont realize thats not the case. To have something be bigger, you need it to actually have an end, which infinity by definition doesnt. In their mind, and infinite number of 2's isnt infinite, its just an unimaginably and ethemeral high number, which is bigger than the same number of 1's. Its really just a showcase of some people having issues comprehending things that are too large. In a way, they are just like a lesser version of a flatearther - something is too big for them, so they scale it down to a point where it makes sense. Also notice how every comment is so proud and bursting to say "some infinities are bigger than others"...Thats the epitome of knowing something without understanding something

@@MrHat. Carrying around a 20 dollar bill is way easier than carrying singular bills….when both options include infinite money, the monetary value itself becomes secondary when it comes to choosing which one is better. All I’m saying is that it should be obvious that convenience has a lot of worth. Let’s instead change the question, “would you rather want an infinite amount of gold at your disposal, or an infinite amount of copper?”. Same monetary value, just like the bills. But carrying around a few hundred grams of gold is way easier than having to carry kilograms of copper. It’s the exact same thing just on a larger scale.
