Spondylolisthesis (L5/S1) ALIF post-op 2wk-6wk
In this update, I am describing my experience from 2 weeks to 6 weeks post op ALIF of the L5 level. From xrays, to ups and down days, a minor infection I incurred, progress and current status.
I also included a number of items I used from the beginning that helped with my recovery so I didn't violate the BLT (Bending, Lifting, Twisting) rule.
I plan on documenting this journey at each major mile stone, so my experience will hopefully help others who are dealing with spondy and considering a fusion surgery what the other side looks like.

If you are considering having this surgery, it is a major surgery, I would suggest some preplanning, and if possible, exercising, drinking lots of water, have a s/o, spouse, good friend, somebody to help you, ...

    You are an excellent mechanic and a fabulous explainer, but seem to assume that the camera actually sees what you are thinking about. There are many, including myself, who are begging you to pay attention to what your camera is actually filming. While exquisitely explaining how a particular bolt needs to fit into a particular spot the camera is pointed at the floor. Additionally, in this video, I have learned more about the anatomy of your arm than what to watch out for as you remove this or that part. If you truly want your CZcams videos to be helpful, please, pay attention to the comments on your camera usage and your minimalist lighting effects.

    Used ChatGPT for come up with this. How accurate does it look? Step-by-step instructions for changing the drive belt on a Honda push mower: 1. Start by preparing the mower: Drain all the gas and disconnect the spark plug. Lay the mower on its back. 2. Remove the blade: Use a 14mm wrench to remove the bolts holding the blade in place. Pay attention to how the blades come off and their orientation. 3. Remove the bolts holding the belt guide: Use a 12mm wrench to remove the bolts holding the belt guide in place. Keep track of the longer bolts, as they will go back in specific spots. 4. Remove the bolt on the back side of the chute: Use a 10mm wrench to access the bolt on the back side of the chute. Rotate the chute to the mulch position to access the bolt. 5. Remove the bolt holding the belt guide arm: Use a wrench to remove the bolt holding the belt guide arm in place. This will expose a pin that needs to be removed. 6. Rotate the chute to access the pin: Rotate the chute from underneath to the bag direction to access the pin. Remove the pin. 7. Remove the remaining bolts holding the housing in place: Use a 12mm wrench to remove the bolts holding the housing in place. There will be one behind the wheel and one on the side. 8. Remove the housing: Once the bolts are removed, the housing should come off easily. Pay attention to the key and its orientation. 9. Remove the belt: Slide the belt off the pulleys and remove it from the mower. 10. Install the new belt: Place the new belt on the pulleys, making sure it is properly aligned and seated. 11. Reassemble the mower: Follow the reverse order of the steps above to reassemble the mower. Make sure to tighten all bolts securely. 12. Adjust the belt tension: Use a 10mm wrench to adjust the belt tension. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific model. 13. Test the mower: Start the mower and ensure that the belt is functioning properly and the drive engages correctly.

    Hey thanks a lot. I have an earlier model from 2012. The spring bracket broke on mine. I’m not sure you have one. While I had it apart, I put on a new belt. When putting that plastic piece back on, I couldn’t get the pin back on. After watched your video, I just had it out of sequence. I will take it apart tomorrow. I also lost those bolts on the side, by the wheel. I ordered 2 new ones on line. Shipping cost more than the cost of the bolt. Probably should went to the hardware store.

    Same mower. Was able to do it without removing the blade mount and pully. There was enough slack when tension was removed from the spring (by completely removing the bracket & spring). Saves sometime and complexity. Helpful video though. Much more of a job than on my 216 series...The 217 is a better mower (more power and composite deck) but the 216 was a better design. Would recommend warming up, shutting gas off, running carb empty and then draining oil. Other tip...never tilt a Honda mower on the carb side. Adios carburetor.

      @russhillman4973 Před 2 měsíci

      Yep, been very happy with this model mower. This last winter I actually took the carb apart and cleaned it, and replaced the wax pellet choke because it was taking like 7 pulls to start and would surge until it got hot. Starts right up first pull now.

    There is a much, much simpler way to do this. It takes 10% of the time this job took you. You are taking half of the mower apart and that is not needed. Service manual outlines how its done: REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 1. Remove the blades and blade holder (P. 4-2). 2. Remove the belt guide. 3. Slide the drive pulley away from the engine and remove the V-belt from the drive pulley. 4. Remove the rear scroll (P. 12-4). 5. Fully loosen the Select Drive cable adjuster. 6. Rotate the transmission and remove the Select Drive cable and the return spring (P. 13-1). 7. Hold the end of the transmission input shaft with an adjustable wrench and remove the 10 mm flange nut. 8. Remove the driven pulley, 10 mm washer, and the V-belt from the transmission. 9. Install in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following: • Be sure to install the 10 mm washer on the transmission input shaft before assembling the driven pulley. • Align the holes in the driven pulley halves when reassembling the pulley. • Be sure to reinstall and adjust the belt guide (P. 2-16). • Readjust the Select Drive cable (P. 3-11)

    • @russhillman4973
      @russhillman4973 Před 5 měsíci

      Just a guess, because it would depend on how much grass you cutting each mowing, how long your mowing seasons is etc. 5 years approx. You'll know because you turning that traction dial further and further clockwise means you are trying to put tightness in the belt to get more traction. You can adjust the adjuster at that point to get some of the traction back but only so much room for the adjuster to go.

    • @russhillman4973
      @russhillman4973 Před 3 lety

      On my Harley it definitely is blue Loctite, lol. On this, I haven't found anything that specifies Loctite, torque, yes, but not Loctite. I even bought the shop manual, which covers much more than the Owners manual. With the exposure to wet grass, or if you hose the underside of the deck out, you will subject the bolts to corrosion, so I always put antiseize on the bolts in this area.
