that commentator casually chatting to the camera while doing one of the hardest climbs in Wales is one of the best things I've ever seen.

Remember watching this when i was young . Fantastic stage . Milk race was a brilliant race . Pity its now gone .
Well I came. I hope that was as good for you as it was for me.
I loved the era of varying bike tech and styles. Such interesting stuff and ideas were tried.

GRAZIE FILIPPO 🚲✈🏁 ❤
I’m so happy. I’ve been trying to get some of dads (Russell Williams) old commentary on Eurosport!!!

0:27 🔥Wow!! Just look at that fucking bike!!!
I searched for Chris Broad Cycling and it brought me here. Well, I can't say I'm disappointed.
"You look so cool/sexy in your unitard and helmet/goggle/neckbrace/gurney, hun." - Said nobody, ever, ever, in fuck-all of history Jesus fuck balls. Seriously can we figure out a way to make these cyclists NOT look like they're one signature away from the oxygen ward at the Mayo clinic? Fuck. They are so talented but they look so fucking stupid.
Swnio'n dda i mi - gobeithir ti mewn band erbyn hyn. Mae YT yn pallu derbyn negeseuon ar dy Tocyn - Brân, ond mae'r gitar ar honno'n swnio'n gryf hefyd. Ffurfia band!

The superman
As someone who’s new to cycling I can’t help but notice how similar those old bikes look to the Ventum & Cadex Tri bikes. I really wish someone would compare one of the old ones to the modern ones
There's an interesting video of Graham Obree in a wind tunnel on his old bike with the under-chest handlebar position vs a newer bike. It shows how good an athlete and engineer he was czcams.com/video/oJ9H0INZ2_s/video.html
@@Penguin_of_Death Just finished watching. That was a truly great educational video & your right it shows he was a good athlete & engineer. However I would still like to see a direct comparison of one of those old Pinarello/Specialized TT bikes to a modern Ventum/Cadex
boringgggg....
Barnstorming, jaw-dropping performance from Chris Boardman. Collinelli had an astounding first km, but faded under the solar brilliance of Boardman, a combination of relentless training, nutrition, careful pacing, and equipment. A detailed binding of all the essential elements. This is where modern cycling began. It's lovely to hear of Graeme Obree, and the influence he had on position.
Its where modern cycling for Brits began. The Aussies had been doing it for 12 years before this.
Beautiful... thank you
Watching this after 26 years
Superb Chris Boardman.. Thank you Mike Burrows…RIP…
Supermanposition banned, so ugly

Mid-late 90's, probs a lot of EPO but not everything.
Still gives me goosebumps absolute legend of British cycling
I want EPO
How far is this?
4km
Wonderful Ability > such Skill !!
Dont know why the UCI banned the riding position. Surely the point is to ride the bike as fast as possible which meant superman position. Its not like people were crashing or anything from it.
i think it just looked ugly.
Oh, does THIS piss you off? Let's talk about puppy paws.
I was heavily involved in the technical side of cycling in the mid-90s and I can tell you that it was very frustrating at times. You never knew which innovations would be allowed and which wouldn't. And, if they were allowed, you never knew how long it would be before they would be banned.
On the flip side, if there were no regulation we’d all be watching bubbles go around the track because the riders all adopted fully faired recumbents
@@jimhize No argument there, I was just looking for some degree of consistency and logic in their rulings.
wonderful cover!! Love this song!
