The iridescence on that bottle could be an indication of lead in the glass. Lead was definitely used in both glass and glazes on ceramic pieces back then.

I found an old bottle. It says McLean and Edinburgh in big letters down the sides. The makers mark is Riley Manufacturing co ltd. I cant find anything about McLean Edinburgh online. Wondered if you knew anything about it? looks a bit like the Kirkcaldy bottle you found.

People keep those broken doll heads and put small plants in them, like “hair” is growing out the top of their head.
