Registrace 3. 09. 2020
On the 1st of May 1984, instead of re-joining my commando unit in Arbroath, Scotland, I instead went south to start an adventure which would last 17,5 years. Because I was already a trained soldier, I was "asked" to stay on to train the new recruits. After that it was 2 years in the Amazon jungle, when I returned to France I took on a bout of REP FEVER. Next it was 2 years in the desert in Djibouti. The fever had not subsided and I did jumps over there. Then it was back to the REP France, or more precisely Calvi, Corsica.
To begin with, I found it very difficult because of my lack of French. My aim with 'French 4 Foreign Legionnaires' is to prepare you for some of the hardships that you will surely encounter. Thanks to my early days in the legion, I know what you will be going through, together we can make it easier.

NATO's navy signal flags, more than just colourful banners.
Signal flags have played a crucial role in maritime communication for centuries. These colorful and visually striking flags are more than just decoration; they serve as a vital method for transmitting messages across vast oceans and between ships. Each flag represents specific letters or numbers, allowing them to be combined to form words, codes, or convey standalone meanings. This timeless form of communication has been an integral part of naval and merchant vessels since the 18th century and continues to be employed by NATO navies in situations where radio communication is not feasible or secure.
The use of signal flags not only embodies practical utility but also embodies a deep maritime culture and tradition. To gain a deeper understanding of the enduring significance of signal flags, watch the Chief Yeoman aboard the German Navy frigate FGS Bayern explain how these flags continue to be utilized by Allied ships to communicate essential information.

Very good report, amazing I have some question, there is a age limit for gcp selection? And glasses are a problem? I have a little Myopie, not much , this is a elimitation reason? Thank you
Yes and yes
@@French4ForeignLegionnairesWhat's the age limit?
17.5 (with parent or guardian's written consent) to 39.5
I would go do this but I am above their age requirements. Im former special operations in the US military and special government work. Special Operations Training Group instructors as well I’m still in tremendous shape. I should have left America earlier but I had to take care of family. Id leave to do this now if they didn’t worry about age and it was on performance. I still ruck run in the sand easy. No warrior becomes fat and loses his tactical proficiency
So are you going to give the legion a try?
@@French4ForeignLegionnaires bro I’d sell me house and be out there before summer. The silly age limit requirement is my obstacle not my body or TTP proficiency.

€6 million (FY2019) €5 million (FY2022)

And the price of course varies depending on the number one buys. Belgium bought 60 of them.
How long is the training Can a legionaire join And whats the difference between gcm and gcp
Hi, I don't know how long the training lasts, but it would be over several months. Corporal minimum. GCM are mountain and GCP are more the equivalent to the British pathfinders. GCM did not exist in my day (in fact GCP was called CRAPs back when I was in the REP). So, I'm afraid that I can't really help you out on that one.
@@French4ForeignLegionnaires ok thank yaa 😁👍🏿
Ce n’est pas la légion étrangère, ça c’est l’armée de terre
C'est vraie, bravo. Bien vu
Nowadays is easy verry easy to be accepted in the Legion but the thing is if you can stay there 😅 cause when you get to basic training in 4RE at the Farm they will fuck you up also after the basic training when you are departed to your new Regiment youll get fucked up every day until you reach the Rank of Corporal but until then is a long journey 😂 the salary is low and they ll take money from you to pay some additional equipment and other stuff every month you spend in the legion more than 300€ for paying different equipment basically you ll do 5 years or 10 and after that you ll end up having nothing but a nice experience that cannot be forgotten and friendship and nice memories that s true The Legion is perfect but the thing is after that you ll have bothing material for you like a house or something I did 6 years in the Legion in 2REI (2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment) in 3rd eme Company So is a bice life but the peoples need to know the truth behind the curtains for someone who want s a life after the legion
😂😂 ive passed the foreign legion test easyyyy is not hard there are just 2 physical tests :1Luk Leger the 20m lane running afterthe beeps you need to do 7 paliers minimum ,i did 9 easyyyy ,and atraight after minimum 7 pull ups ,i did 14 😅 so don t worry about physical test if you train yourself at running every day for 2-3 moths you ll gonna take the phisical tests 100% ,and train for pull ups as well is easy For me was easy cause i do bodybuilding sins 2014 and running but for beginners should be ok 3 moths running and pull ups every day I meet there and American guy from Louisiana at the selection process in Aubagne and he said he never trained he just played footbal to time to time and he also pass the physical teats😂 YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT PSIHCHOTEHNICS AND THE INTERVIEW cause is realy complicated

Was not expecting to see an American here who joined the FFL. He must have done something bad against the law that the Marines wouldn't take him but the FFL would. A few years ago there was a video made about US Marines training with FFL in French Guiana as jungle warfare.
The legion will give nearly everyone a second chance. Providing that their past does not include 'crimes of blood', such as murder or even rape. And of course, they can pass the rigorous selection.
@@French4ForeignLegionnaires my dad was a US Army Vietnam veteran, and he always liked the French Foreign Legion. It seems that to American military guys, there is an aura of mystique and awe about the FFL, not just their life of adventure.
@@French4ForeignLegionnaires what if the applicant is a homosexual? Do you suppose that if a man does a good length of time in the FFL, he could come back and then join the US Marines? That would show that he was serious about cleaning up his life and not getting into trouble anymore.
