Barbra Streisand's Subliminal Vocal Agility
Nice resonance and fluidity from this recent Babra's album. So many C#5s here!
True! And most of them sustained, I imagine she must have warmed up quite a bit for recording this.
5:45 música?
I never has seen snow
Voz perfeita
Demais!
It makes no sense how good her voice aged, it seems that her voice only got better with each album from Love is the answer to Walls, and even now Love will survive shows that her voice is not deteriorating any further.
It’s not possible to maintain vocal range and flexibility to voice when aged, but Ms. Streisand always knows what fit her vocal the most at the moment, I think that’s why she’s an artist.
Her voice aged backwards in the 2010s.
@@kevin40428yeah, also the way she arranges the orchestras make the songs far more impactful, even if she doesn't sing in the same tessitura as in her youth.
This journey is almost done, special thanks for everyone who's kept up with the series so far. Only the vocal range for "Release Me 2" is missing, then I'll do one for Barbra's upcoming album. As for her complete vocal range, her lowest legitimate notes sung are from her 2012-2013 tour which will be featured in my "2010s Vocal Range" video.
Her voice was quite clearer here then in her previous album.
A good showcase from this Barbra's album! With her classic sustained belts like in her earlier years. Also, she exhibits a great fluidity through the vocal registers!
Indeed, thanks for always commenting! ❤
@@jennyrebecca4daysold Glad to be here and to leave comment on your Barbra's and others' contents 😊
She gained some rasp, but for that age her voice was great, and really warm
Indeed, thanks for commenting ❤
Earlier upload as Barbra is going to release a new album this year and I wanna finish the series so I can catch up with her new release.
In this album Barbra achieves relaxation and good vocal fold closure on C#3, which showcases an extended low register as her voice matured. She also still showcases good sustainability up to C#5 and is able to hit clear brief E5s still.
The sustained D5 in her duet with Antonio Banderas is great too, but an outliar.
It’s not just her voice it’s all of her, she makes you feel her suffering, she tells the story and she has plenty to say.
I think you just summed WHO Judy truly was! I know it's cliche but their will never be another Judy .❤
Let's face it Barbra's from another galaxy. This voice is supernatural.
What a clarity in Barbra's voice from this album! She gained more in the high notes, despite her age.
I didn't know Judy Garland could also sing soprano.Soprano. That's impressive.
And it was filmed/recorded live in a television studio 60 years ago. Taylor Swift couldn’t hold one of Judy’s notes for a billion dollars.
Barbra's vocals on this album are incredible for a 74 year old goddess. I hear she's recording a new album I hope she's doing her vocal exercises, so we get another masterpiece as she is now 82. She did gave an excellent performance on "Love Will Survive" her most recent release In April 2024
Oh I also hope she does vocal exercises, I will be surprised if she even will belt. "Love Will Survive" was beautiful and a masterpiece of breath support, as always!
After Barbra's vocal condition in 2011 she started doing a few warm-ups and her voice sounded much better in her 2012-2013 tour than it did in previous years and this album was also a reflection of that. Not only this is a great album vocally, but it also sold nearly 2 million copies and had over 50 million streams on Spotify, Barbra was 74 years old when she achieved these feats.
Hi!! I'm a little curious, what exactly happened to Barbra's voice in 2011? I don't recall ever reading about it!
@@abeautifulpie For reference listen to "Something New In My Life", she barely could hit any notes in the 5th octave with any clarity, just hoarseness.
@@jennyrebecca4daysold that's so true, her Love is the answer and All that matters album, plus the live performances at the Village Vanguard show a very tired voice, even though these are two of my favourite albums. When she did Back in Brooklyn her voice was absolutely on fire and better than it had been in years. That's why I think that was the perfect time for her to do Gypsy, but unfortunately it didn't happen.
@@gus24x24yeah, also the unedited musicares concert. I also wish we got gipsy around that time, maybe Barbra would have won her second best actress and first best director Oscar or at least be nominated, but now her acting career is over, at least according to her memoir.
Uau que alcance divino 😮
A nice episode of the series! With the characteristic and enchanting Barbra's belts😊
GREAT
Incredible
There's no other voice that compares she don't even need music her voice is the music ❤
You're back!!
Well, my life is still quite busy, but I've been able to keep uploading monthly at least... I liked your last big range projects BTW.
E3 at 00:10 in the word "walk", forgot to label, sorry.
This woman had a throat on her! She was truly a belter
A nice vocal range video for this emotional tribute Barbra's album! It's now noticeable her raspy tone, though her voice is still capable of smooth passages. (I haven't received the video notification, so I was waiting for a new video since last time, but then I found out this one😅)
Yes, the passages from chest to head are still smooth. Did you hear her last song she released last month? It seems like her voice is clearer than it was in 2019 when she last sung live!
@@jennyrebecca4daysold Yes, I heard it recently. She seems vocally rested. Probably due to aging, it is become more difficult to avoid vocal fatigue during the tour.
What’s the song at 14:36? please and thx
La Verità. She officially recorded it much after this video (in 1984)
@@muziksever8367 thanks very much
Brava, Diva!
Judy and Barbra singing together...we will never live to see and hear to greats like that again.
*two greats
I bought the CD at a garage sale a month ago and was just telling my wife an hour ago "Streisand" is the reigning Champ. The power, the vibrato, the inflections and the soaring highs-with zero studio wizardry-leaves little doubt to Streisands awesome ability. Everything about this 1974 recording says "Babs" is the boss.
this made me break down into tears 😭 her voice is SO Powerful it touches your soul! ❤️
She never fails to choose the best material
A simple album vocally, but it's a beautiful tribute album to her friends nonetheless.
I don't think "What Matters Most" is an "simple" album when it comes to vocals...
@@wernermatrisch2maybe, "The Promise" is definitely a challenging song to sing, but her voice definitely wasn't in best condition, in the full show of the grammies tribute she did that year her voice cracked several times, in some climaxes of this album her voice sounds very hoarse, but after this album, realizing how hoarse her voice was, she started doing warm ups which led her voice to sounding much clearer in her 2012/2013 tour. She even has hit a lot of Cs and C#s with an almost tenor quality which I'm going to showcase in my 2010s vocal range of hers in the future.
Wow!!!!😊
It seems to me that she felt the lyrics. She was, like Callas, a singing actress.maybe the best combination of those two abilities of whom I can think.
That C5 on "needs" sounds so full and resonant
Meraviglia delle meraviglie !!!
Can’t wait for the back to Brooklyn or memories concert vocal range I mean I hope you do them lol
I will, her lowest legitimate sung note is from that era.
Such a warm comforting voice ❤
Great work! I loved the first E5!
So tender and beautiful!
Beautiful vocals, as always ❤
I'm glad you liked it, hope you are doing fine ❤
@@jennyrebecca4daysold I am, I also hope you're doing fine!!
