ive always wanted to do this but i am too scared for injuries, so im simply running twice a week now and well see when i am confident enough :)

Well this is a bit depressing. I am about to run my first marathon (Dublin) in less than 8 weeks and my target pace is for a 4:30:00 marathon. Ok, I am 46 but seeing Oliver complete a marathon in 4:23 with no dedicated marathon build up is impressive. You have a good engine my friend. He is obviously fit. But having started a marathon plan a few weeks ago, to all who has not experienced this, no matter what your general fitness level is, running a marathon under 4:30 is not trivial. So kudos to Oliver. Now, if I can replicate his result (with 10 weeks of dedicated training) I might hope for a sub 4 hour marathon in a few years.

It was great seeing my Province who is known for Tides at Hopewell Rock, Bay of Fundy & Whale watching, lots of trails. What’s cool is Magnetic Hill, put your car in neutral and climb a hill, zoo right there and Amusement Park, with Perkins as you drive out for something to eat. Lots of Ocean beach and uniques towns. In the summer every weekend in festivals in almost every town, Blues music, Country Music, Bluegrass, Acadian, Scottish, Irish Music and Festivals celebrating the Province and diversity. Lots of concert halls and highest tide in the world, Bay of Fundy and Hopewell Rock where you can see the tide go in and out with two day pass or one ( could be 4-6 hrs between). So much to do.

Well the title worked and pulled me in! 😂 Enjoyed the video and a great achievement but you were clearly in decent shape already and used to running mid-longer distances. I done one marathon in my 20s and didnt finish as strong as that after training for months and hit the wall after 21 miles despite running that distance several times in training. As I say dont want to bring down the achievement but i was expecting some dude who had never ran before at all when i clicked on the video 😂. All the best 👍🏻

I ran the Berlin marathon in 2008 at the age of 41 without training for it, someone dropped out so I took their place, everyone else declined, I've never done a marathon before so I thought why not I normally run 5km to 10km. Geeeeez, it was so packed, for the first 5 or 6 miles I was just jogging until it opened out. About 3 miles from the end I decided to picking up water from a water station and walked for a bit, that was a terrible mistake, my legs seized up and couldn't run properly. That was the most painful few miles I'd ever experienced. I managed to complete the marathon in 3 hrs and 22 minutes. Oh by the way.. Never again will I'll just do one untrained.

I don't want to brag here but I bet I could pull this off too. I've done a half marathon with honestly some half assed training and still did it under 1:40. Admittedly I have a pretty good baseline condition, and like to do running, biking etc in general. Also I have a BMI of under 20. If I do running for 2 hours around 10 KMs an hour it's slightly harder than just walking for that amount of time. I just wonder what will happen after the 3 hour mark when supposedly the glucose level goes down and I have no idea what my muscles would do. I've never gone beyond 25 km really...

Carb loading is not what you’re supposed to be doing before a race. It causes inflammation and GI stress/problems. Optimizing your fat for metabolism is the best way because you’ll have a fast recovery and you won’t have GI stress. Your body works way better using your body’s ketones than glucose. Everything I said is backed by research

Our body is not supposed to run that long time. That's why its hard to finish a marathon when you run too slow.. That's not because you run slown that its going to be easier.Running 3 hours is not like running 5hours. People need to understand it... anyway its about pratcising.

Im currently training for a marathon and I clicked this video and when I saw it I was so surprised it was from moncton my home province. I used to drive by that running club store all the time and recognized it right away it was like 5 minutes from my grandmothers house. I think its cool that you ran the marathon without training, but from what I saw from your other videos is that you played soccer and were already in pretty good shape so for you I think its ok, but a guy who doesnt play other sports or who is normally active wouldnt make it without causing health problems. Anyway Im excited to run my first marathon this Sept in Montreal! I just registered today and I started an 18 week Nike Marathon training plan thats on an app with an audio coach to guide you through the runs a week ago. Im already in quiet good shape, I get mostly 10'000 steps per day and love long distance walks so I just need to get back into running. Im probably going to do a run walk run method. I hope I make it to the end as my last two sporty goals were to go sky diving and run a marathon. I even went to the library and borrowed 35 books about running, marathons, marathon training and runners biographies. My goal is to finish reading them all before I run the marathon and will be an expert on the topic by the end of it. Im not very good at making youtube videos anymore but maybe I will write and article or a book about my own experience training for the marathon after it.

Having done no training for something doesn't have anything to do with the personal fitness. I can be a 400m world class runner and could easily win a national championship on 400m with hurdles. WITHOUT TRAINING !!!1111 Distinguish "not having trained" and "untrained"
