I can recommend a visit to the neighboring Midsommarkransen. Nice architecture, small town feel, lots of restaurants and a nice park (Svandammsparken). Similar vibe to Aspudden. Since you are fans of sushi, Svenska sushiköket is recommended.

We do this at home every Christmas, on a smaller scale of course. We only have 4 variants of herring, meat appetizers are a few of our own favourites etc. Two things we do NOT have: Potatoes and Ris á la Malta - both are fillers and we usually get rather full anyway. We do have home made thin hard bread for the gravlax but that is about it for carbs (except for Janssons, we do have that). We enjoy the Christmas table midday and for some reason don't need to eat any more that day... 🙂 Then it is Christmas table leftovers for breakfast, lunch and dinner until about New Year's Eve!

Yes, I think you got it right! Becuse; Eating Semla on that day in our bussiest tourist cafees, dont do that for your "best experiance"! Its still this, do as the locals, they vouldnt enter that cafe.. full of tourits.. they know other cafes.. if they need a Semla! Then two topics, "fettisdagsbulle" and "Semla"! Fettisdagsbulle was invented by "probably" a royal baker as a desert befor going in to the fasting period! And every christian fasts around Easter!? In anyway after fettisdag comes askonsdag, "ash wendsday", followed by dymmeltorsdag, "quite thursday", followe by långfredag, "long friday", one suposed to not have fun on that day.. only remeber Jesus suffering at the cross.. and suffer one self! Its the same that make cristians not eating meat at fridays, only fish, one have as a christian embrace ones suffering! Well there is no Christians anymore. Then to Semla.. its Italian, "Semolina", white flour without any fibers/grain shells.. it was expencive and for desserts! Hetvägg is another topic, it was very few that could afford newly baked Semla.. it become dry, and small amount of heated milk could make the bun to soften up! Then to newer traditions of eating "Semla", "there is no way to eat Semla with dignity"! Step one, take of the lid, scope up some cream, after that.. take the semla in your hand (like in USA) and take a big bite, one supose to get powderd sugar on ones nose and cream at ones uper lip! Everyone get embaresed.. then you are equal!

Not really accurate but still depressed by this. =) Solna isnt amazing but i would say its a good place compared to many other in Stockholm. You should stay away from ART HOTEL in KÖLN Germany. That shit is one time in your life experience.. Stay away from that place.. Köln Is beautiful thou...

Great comprehensive video showing a really classic traditional Swedish Julbord! Not be a party pooper, but just to check the grammar: ETT julbord = julbordET = MiTT första svenska julbord. I know "en" and "ett" are extremely difficult to learn when to use correctly in Swedish...and to make matters worse there are actually some words that can be used with either, like "ett apelsin" (it means 'Apple from China'= ETT äpple) or "en paraply", and to be fair, you got EN buffé right, so I wish you all the luck with your future Swedish! :D

Why did you put a crown on your head in the thumbnail? Just seems weird to me. We have a royal family, and they are not even crowned, as this is tradition here. Just seems to me one could easily misunderstand this thumbnail by thinking that you (the video maker) thought you could come here and be "like a queen", or something. Harmless fun, maybe, I'm just thinking out loud.

A very massive julbord, i must say. And a massive bill for a julbord.

Creme fraiche mixed with horseradish paste (horseradish sauce)is a delight with the cold smoked meat.

When I'm at a julbord like that, I often don't get past the first plate. I just keep getting more and more pickled herring untill they are out of it. :) Also, that potato-anchovy-thing, Jansons frestelse, tastes much better than anyone could ever imagine.
